The toe box of this shoe fits my square feet perfectly. The problem is the 13 mm drop is a deal breaker. My heel felt like it was coming out of the back of the shoe. The instep is too low as well. I wear orthotics and the top of my feet near the ankle hurt after wearing these. If they had more depth they would be perfect.

My husband has been wearing these shoes for over 10 years. I bought him a new pair and the sides of the soles are tinted lavender. I returned them and purchased another just to find out the new pair is the same!

a few things wrong... the sole is not white like the leather, it has a blue tint to it.. not shown in images. they kinda look like clown shoe , minus the red. i can probably get over that since they are wide but the most bothersome is that when i walk i hear a thump in the left shoe when i step. like there is something in the sole or a air bubble that pops .. it is annoying. this is the first day that i have worn them... and it started right away i went with NB 800 series because i was told they are great for walking.. im not gonna walk too much if this thump keeps up

This 4EE was bought because the regular size 2EE I have bought for many years was too narrow. However, 4EE is way to wide and uncomfortable. I am returning the 4EE and keeping the 2EE shoes I also bought to start with. I am going to live with the tight shoe until the New Balance 928 11.5 2EE become available. It's a bummer that the 813 shoes are not as comfortable as the 928's

I have had more than one pair of these and the glue fails, the upper separates or the tread comes off. They are a trip hazard when this happens.

Very uncomfortable, too many pressure points. Not willing to sacrifice my feet trying to break in!

little disappointed in arch support. Not what I am use to from a New Balance shoe. Added an insole and worked well. Shoe appearance looked like an orthopedic shoe. Get what you pay for. I learned.
I'd also recommend:
Will stick with NB

I have a hard time finding shoes to fit my very wide, arthritic feet. These were not wide enough for me, but are probably fine for regular wide width foot.

The quality of New Balance continues to decline. If I could find another shoe cmanufacturer that makes a narrow shoe, I would stop buying NB shoes.

I've worn these for a couple of weeks, and they still make noise with every step. They ae not as comfortable as the 577 (which, unfortunately, were not available in my size).

Feels like it's made with cheap materials, I don't see them lasting very long. Way ever priced.

The shoes looked good but I had to return them as they were labelled at 6E however they were not as wide as the 4E shoes I bought a year ago.

Supposed to be a walking shoe. It feels like I'm walking bare foot.

Have used this shoe since the 810 version. Walk 15-30 miles per week and in the past have used the loop lacing method at the top of laces (this helps with keeping the heel snug). Well on both a new pair of 813 purchased in Dec. (not true on a 12 month old pair of 813 I have that is worn out - thus can compare the shoes side by side) they have shortened the tongue by 3/8-1/2 inch and if the top lace hole is used than the laces want to work off the end of the tongue onto the top of foot. Loop lacing method is out of the question which really is a pain. The same is true of the 928 model also purchased in Dec.

they are made a little strangely. There is no band around the laces and the gap between the laces is larger than usual for a 4E, the toe is rounder which is good for a wide foot, but looks a bit strange.

Shoes looked really cheap. Sent them back. I hate new balance’s new last sizing! Their women’s 10 1/2 4E used to fit me perfectly. Now I have to buy a men’s 8 1/2 to 9 6E to get a comfortable fit.

I only buy NB shoes because they are the very best for my feet. The 10-D always fits me perfectly Men's 813 Hook & Loop are comfortable and a great fit, but loops are too long and the overall style isn't as nice as the Men's 577 Hook & Loop. I bought the Men's 813 Hook & Loop because I needed the light gray color. Sure wish NB made the Men's 577 Hook & Loop in the light gray color and hope NB considers it at some point. Please consider it.

Nice looking shoes, the silver color is a bit odd, straps too long, look funny.

I have had NB for a long time starting with 925's. They were identified as good for high instep with a wide ball and narrow heel. The were great. Over the years the 925 gave way to newer models each with less comfort for my foot's high instep. The latest iteration the throat has less and less material making the tongue exposed with very little under the eyelets. And the area across the foot where the tongue attaches at the base of the throat is not as wide/high as in the 925 shoe. The 925 lasts must have been abandoned. Unless you can direct to a shoe that works, I am afraid I will have to look to other sources to find shoes that fit properly.

Been wearing new balance for over 20 years these were very tight across the top of my feet where the laces begin and I have slim feet for a d. The soles were very hard nothing like any other shoe I have purchased in the past. Wore them 1 time what a waste of money. Still my fault I guess never buy shoes on line even if you are very familiar with the brand.
