This backpack is great. I take a lot of time to consider and review bags before making a purchase and this one had good reviews. I like to go for versatile bags that are strong enough for outdoor activities because I know the quality is going to be there. Although this bag can hold a laptop, I personally did not buy it for that feature and find it to be perfectly spaced for textbooks and other items without looking bulky. It almost looks like nothings in it. I plan to use this for college. In the past I've carried messenger bags and large purses to carry my notebooks and school supplies. I am not a fan of backpacks due to the weight felt on the back, but I decided to give this one a try. I am very pleased with this purchase and knew the quality would justify the price. I carry a tall 40oz water bottle everywhere I go and the pocket on the side is large enough to hold it without it falling out. It even has a strap I can connect that will give additional support. I am 5'9 and have a thin frame and the bag does not look huge on me. It's a perfect fit. The front pockets are also quite deep and can hold a lot. I like that there are multiple compartments. It even has a keys clip. The best part about the bag is the straps and the back cushion. Its really comfortable and you don't feel books and other objects poking your back because there is a lot of padding and support.

I have had a north face backpack in the same style as this for around 7 years now and I have been using it everyday & i decided to get a new one just because it was getting old & worn down. This backpack is definitely worth the price and is EXTREMELY durable.

In texas some school start later in the year like mine i really want the heather sliver kind of cream and sliver colored one but the are out of stock and i would really love for it to be back in stock becuase its a couple of day before school and i would like to be able to purchase this item to know its on its way

I searched high and low for a backpack that would suit all of my needs. (I have many). I found this backpack one day and thought it was wonderful. I work at an outdoor retailer and have seen many many backpacks and packs in my time there but nothing stand still up to the North Face backpack. For my needs as a hiker, student, and long-term needs as an outdoor enthusiast this is a life time investment. I have come to truly appreciate this brand after this bag.

This is a great bag.So many colors.

After a year of trying to cram my textbooks/laptop/etc. into a purse I finally bought myself this backpack. I'm not a backpack person at all, (I'm going into my 2nd year of university and have not used a backpack since 8th grade) and after using the backpack for to/from work, I'm not sure how I survived without it. I'm a shorter (5'2) girl and I find a lot of backpacks don't fit my frame, but this one does wonders. The backpack fits everything, from my MacBook to my notebooks, water bottle, and a spare pair of shoes, it's definitely the first backpack I've ever seen that carries so much without looking extremely bulky. I got mine in the solid black and had it monogrammed to give it a little personal touch, all of my girlfriends love it and a few of them even ordered their own!

I have used this backpack for over a year now and it looks just as good as it did on the day it arrived. I have a long (30 min) walk to campus, and it is extremely comfortable to wear. The organization is perfect for carrying both a laptop and a tablet, and both pockets are lined with sweater-like fleece that keep my devices safe and clean. I would recommend it to anyone.

Note: my Borealis is older than the one pictured and looks different. I'm not sure how different mine is from the new ones. I picked out this backpack at the beginning of my freshman year of college and have used it almost daily ever since. It's been almost 5 years, and the bag is still in great condition. I've had no real issues with it. The material has held up well, and there have been no rips or tears or zipper issues. The inner lining has started to peel off in some places, but that doesn't seem to be a big issue to me. I regularly use the laptop sleeve, which has kept my (rather large) laptop safe. I have even been able to fit 2 laptops in the sleeve at once. I also use the side pockets regularly for water bottles, keys, etc., and the mesh has never ripped. I love this backpack! I've used it for class, work, and travel. It has been to Africa, Europe, Central America, and I will soon be bringing it to Asia. It's also been on many hikes and day trips, and it looks like I'll get several more years out of it.

I love this product a lot and I use it everyday. I get lots of compliments from my fellow students on this bag. Its easy to pack up in but, it has to many straps. They get annoying and its uncomfortable. I love the whistle and it works as a dog whistle and it's safe if you're in a non safe area and you can blow it if you're in danger. Overall, this product is amazing.

I love this product and I use it for school everyday. It's comfortable and stylish.

Feels strongly made and lots of storage.

I previously owned a different brand of backpack for college and it just wasn't cutting it for me. Very uncomfortable and weight bearing in the wrong places. I did a lot of research for backpacks and stumbled upon the list from the American Chiropractic Association and this was on the list. I checked out the bag and got it the next week. I've been using it for a week and have tried different weigh loads in the bag and it always feels great. never too much for my back and doesn't weigh me down. I highly recommend this bag for college students.

My daughter does not have time to go to her locker in between classes so this thing is packed full and very heavy. She loves how it carries and all the pockets for sorting things.

I use this backpack for trail riding. I love the organization pockets and the straps are designed for women.

Simple backpack, comfortable to wear and easy to travel with. The bag is durable and can handle most of what you throw at it. Flying with the bag is no sweat and storage is easy access.

I love this backpack!! I am in college and it fits all my books, supplies, and 15.5" laptop nicely. It's pretty durable and the color is great. I'd recommend Borealis or Jester for anyone in college or even high school.

Before I had this backpack I kept dropping my books onto the ground. Now, I can fill all my books (a lot) and textbooks into my new backpack while having room for other stuff (like food). Not only that, but the padding provides a feeling like a massage on my back (sometimes I even purposely try make it heavier) and it fits around my torso nicely (especially with the straps). I keep bragging about it so much even my friend got one. My friends also tell me to stop blowing the whistle on the straps, but that's my favorite part.

Great backpack.

I love the pocket sizes!! And then the clips on the outside really hold my umbrella so it doesn't always fall out. I also like the laptop slip. I don't like how I sit my bag down and it slips or falls over easily.

I'm a college student who works 24/7, so I'm constantly taking my backpack everywhere. And so far I haven't had any problems with it. Though I do dislike that it has a lot of snap on straps.

Love the backpack. Perfect for college students because it fits everything I need and is good on the back for the long distances. Wish the waist straps were removable though but I have learned to accept them. The color and quality is amazing and I am for sure buying again!! Fingers crossed the bag keeps it shape and quality over a long period of time.

I loved this back pack, it is aesthetically pleasing and great quality, I have one and recently ordered a new one because I wanted something different, I am a nursing student and it has great support for my back, I carry multiple heavy textbooks and they all fit! Highly recommend
