This is the second or third season that Merrell has disappointed me with their flats. Not since their Allegra ballet flat of a few years back have I found their flats comfortable. No support, flimsy construction and certainly no elegance in the styling.

Love this shoe! I have no complaints...wore them right out of the store because they felt already broken in & were brand new out of the box. These are true to size & are extremely comfortable for my wife flat foot! Seriously thinking about buying two more pairs for the future!

This is a minimalist shoe, not a big cushy athletic shoe. If you like going barefoot, this protects you from glass shards and gravel. I'm not having a problem with the back elastic, it holds the shoe gently in place. I love this shoe.

I absolutely love this shoe! Fortunately my feet are different from those who wrote poor reviews ... my experience has been entirely positive. I bought them to wear on a three week trip to Turkey last September, involving considerable walking every day, in all kinds of terrain (city, light hiking on dusty roads, crawling over architecturally interesting areas). I broke them in (the shoes didn't need it but my feet needed to adjust to a near-barefoot feel) by wearing them around town for a few weeks. The shoes performed perfectly with one change. I needed to add some moleskin right over the edge snear my big and little toes, and also to the very back. It took about a minute to do. After that, no blisters and no problems. The shoes looked almost as good at the end of the Turkey trip and the over 40 miles I walked as they did at the beginning. The soles are in perfect condition. Since then I've worn them frequently, including all over New Zealand (paved walkways and dirt trails). They've even gotten wet a few times and dried out fine, though I don't recommend it. You will only like these shoes if you enjoy the barefoot feel, though - there is very little arch support. I recommend getting used to having little between yourself and the earth before wearing them on extended trips.

I am so glad I ignored the negative reviews and decided to give this Merrell shoe a try. I love them! The Mimix Haze is even more comfortable and cuter than its predecessor! This shoe has a roomy toe box and moderate arch support. The elastic does not bother me at all. No breaking in period. Runs true to size for a closed in shoe. If you like the barefoot feeling, then give these a try. Thank you Zappos for your free shipping policy, otherwise I might have passed these by!

The soles were comfortable with moderate arch support for a flat. However, the edges are very stiff and rub uncomfortably around the heel and sides of my foot. I'm returning them.

Very disappointed with Merrells. Was looking for support as they are usually known for, but this is a very lightweight, flexible shoe. Too expensive for the quality. Very cute, great color, but no support. Thank goodness for Zappos' return policy!

I have been wearing the summer version of these ballet flats, the Merrell Mimix Meld Flat, and absolutely love them! I took them on a trip to China - I wore them primarily when my feet wore worn out of my running shoes. They are extremely lightweight and break in very quickly.

This shoe is exactly what I wanted. Good color and comfortable fit. I could wear it with everything.

These shoes are very nice. If you need arch support, they have none, but otherwise soft and very comfortable - and they look great!

I got these shoes in the Brown Sugar and they were so cute and lightweight. The problem I has was the back piece on the heel, it's so rough. I knew it would cause me blisters so I had to send it back.

The shoes look great, but they run a bit small for me. Maybe it is because it is after the summer and my feet have been bare much of the time? I need to return them.

While these did initially feel larger than a typical 7.5, they stay on my feet just fine. They are very unconstructed but very comfortable to walk in and they are cute! I would go barefoot all the time if I could, but I love the barefoot feel of these shoes.

Even though I probably should have bought a half-size up, these are very comfortable shoes. My only complaint is that the rubber sole is already separating from around the edges of the shoe.

Received mine two days ago (I bought the Tahoe color - think faded denim). Wore them all day yesterday at work (casual Friday). The issue most of the reviews are complaining about only felt irritating for the first few minutes. The longer I wore them the less I felt it and the more comfortable they felt. I had no blisters at all after a 9 hour day at work. Arch support IS very minimal but better than most other "ballet shoe" styles on the market. They actually made me think I was walking barefoot but with a rubber shock-absorbing sole that gripped slippery floors well and gave me slightly more arch support than if I really were barefoot. I LOVE them. Mine are not being returned and I may buy another pair.

After reading the reviews about the heel issue, I almost didn't purchase these. But my search for casual flats (that don't look "office-y") was not going well, so I ordered these. I'm glad I did. They have become my go-to, kick-on shoes. Wearing them a lot around the house & on errands I didn't experience the heel irritation mentioned by others. Yesterday I put in a lot of mileage, walking 2 airports and exploring a new city: only at the end of the day did I feel a slight irritation around the heel elastic. I expect it to soften, and it doesn't bother me. Note that the shoes don't have much inner support, so if you are doing serious walking you may want to add inserts.

I chose to ignore the reviews that the elastic on the heel would rub. Well, it did after walking in the house several times. Too bad - as they are cute shoes.

I wanted to love these shoes. Very lightweight, great color (brown sugar) but the back of the shoe was so uncomfortable. The entire shoe is soft and comfy...except for the heel which immediately rubbed. Not sure if it is because of the small bits of elastic sewn into the back of the shoe that makes it so stiff. Anyway...they are going back.

Love the color, but the fit is less than desirable for my feet. Cut into the top of my foot near the big toe, and not enough support in the arch.

These would be perfect, if the elastic at the back didn't rub miserably into my heel. Alas, they are going back.

I should have paid attention to the other reviews. These shoes are so uncomfortable as the ednging all around my foot was hard and scratchy. Too bad as they are very cute.

While I like the shoes, I would have to agree with other reviewers about the back elastic. These shoes were not too small, but the back of the heel still dug into my skin and caused blisters and pain. Looking back, I should have paid more attention and if so, I wouldn't have made the purchase and wouldn't end up disappointed in Merrell. I expected better from them.

Wish I had read the reviews before I bought these. They are super cute but the top edge all the way around is very rough and rubbed blisters the first time I wore them. I hope that I will be able to stretch them out a little and still wear them. They are very light weight which is nice but they are definitely not comfortable right out of the box.

Very comfortable shoe, however there is a but... It is flexible. The sole has nice cushion. However, the elastic at the heel is very uncomfortable. After only a short time of wearing the shoe around the house the back of my heel was red and irritated. The elastic is very rough. I wanted to like these but the elastic is not going to work for me.

This shoe is very cute and the footbed is comfortable. However, as I read in a previous review on Merrell, these shoes rub both in the front and at the back of the heel. The front may break-in but the back is elastic and after wear for a few hours would probably cause a blister or rawness. I am returning them.
