I don't know why the other reviewers said "moderate arch support" -- there is no arch support on these. The heel elastic digs in a bit. Cute shoes, but not for anything but sitting.

Not worth the price. If you're looking for good-quality flats with arch support, these are not for you. I was also disappointed in the itchy shoe opening. It was scratchy on my foot -- not soft and comfy like I'd expect at the price. These were returned instantly.

These were for my daughter. She loved the shoe as far as arch support/fit. However, they put a 1/4" strip of elastic on the back of the shoe which pulls on the ankle and makes the shoe fit high (and uncomfortable) on the ankle. They're going back.

I expect Merrell shoes to be comfortabe. These had sharp edges cutting into the top of my to and my heel. I have another lace-up pair I love, these not so much!
