Not true to size

I have lived in 2 pair of these Columbia pants for last 6 years. I just tried on these new ones but oh man are they different. I'm a size 4, Sometimes 2 and these new 4s are way too small. I could barely get them up and the waist has no give whatsoever. Not sure if I'll try for a 6 based on how stiff waist seems. I need to bend over and kneel at work and at almost age 50 prefer a little give in waist. Bummed.

Bought a size 4, 6, and 8 all with the same waistband size!!! Waistband doesn't stretch. I just needed a little more space, but couldn't get it. It was a great cut of pants and really wanted it to work out that's why I bought so many different sizes at different times.

For trail pants, the rise was too short for me; tight in the crotch and groin area, although I normally wear size 8, even 6 sometimes. I returned them.

The material was not as thin/lightweight as I had hoped for. The waist was snug and high cut. I wanted a lower rise. The design is cute, but the fit was not for me.

I have always LOVED these pants. I must own 20 pair in various colors through the years. I recently ordered 3 pair because when I see my size (12L) I grab them! Sadly, they are now sized poorly. Too small, narrow and the fabric has changed. The material feels stiffer and cheaper than the original soft supple pants I love so much. I work outdoors and do a lot of trekking, hiking and fishing. These used to be ideal for me but no more. I noticed they are now being made in India rather than Vietnam and there is a vast difference. Buyer beware! Columbia please go back to Vietnam!!

Great material - cool for the summer heat - Love these

Love these pants but had to send but for a larger size. Purchased a size 8 but unfortunately needed a size 10. Tried them on but too tight. Liked them so much I ordered a size 10. Looking forward to receiving them.

I love these pants. This is my 3rd pair. They are super comfortable, light weight and great for hot weather.

These are by far my favorite hiking pants. They are cool. light weight and super comfortable.

Best pants ever! Just purchased my second pair. They're wonderful for hiking and just kicking around but superb for traveling. They're very comfortable and lightweight, a real plus if you like to pack light. Be aware that they run small. I always wear size 4-6 but got these in Size 8!

These are the only brand of hiking pants that fit me. I think I have bought them in every color.

Very comfortable and light weight. Waist fits great. 5'3" 108# Bought 2S. 4 was a bit loose in the waist.

Love these pants! I am five feet eight inches and have a hard time finding long enough pants for my thin frame. These are long enough, slim, and comfortable!

Perfect pants for every day and hiking. Can roll them with snaps to convert to capris. Material is light for the summer yet keeps you warm on cool days.

Great, good quality pants. Light weight. I"m 5'3". 108# and the 2 Short fit great. I ordered the 4 short first but it was a bit roomy in the waist.

My favorite hiking pants! I have 2 pairs. They are light weight and stretchy - good for summer weather hiking in the Pacific Northwest.

I love the material. It's light but protective and comfortable. I bought this pant as a size 8 short in India Ink. I wish I had sized up because there will be no forgiveness if my weight goes up. I would have liked a little more room in the seat and hips, but it is super flattering.

These pants are so comfortable and have just the right amount of stretch.

My new Saturday Trail Stretch Pants will be worn a lot more often than just Saturdays! The gray pair I bought last year have served me so well that a second pair, this time in dark blue, are a nice wardrobe enhancement. They continue to look new even after multiple washings, they're quick-drying, and stylishly flexible. The 2-snap waist felt slightly tight out of the bag, but relaxed after 1 washing. My only question is to ask why they're called "stretch pants" as there seems little stretch in the fabric.

These are so comfy, got for an Alaskan cruise bc they are water resistant for hiking while in Alaska and they are perfect. Definitely run small so I would size up a size.

I was happy to find lightweight hiking pants that don't billow out like parachute pants. These are fitted in the rear and upper leg, and comfortably loose in the lower leg. For reference, I am 5'7" and weigh 125 lbs, and typically wear size 6 in pants. I have to say, the waist is tight mainly because the pants have a 7" rise and I usually wear pants with a 9" rise. But the way they fit everywhere else is worth it, and I'm keeping these in size 6.

I love these pants. I have worn them for years. One of the few Columbia women's pants that check all my boxes :) 2 usable back pockets, 2 usable front pockets and a handy small zipper pocket on the leg. These wash well. They are light weight and travel well.
