After testing the Holliway for out over two weeks, I went from being sure I loved them to reluctantly deciding that I must send them back. The problem can be seen in the photos. There is a pattern of small trenches on the footpad, and I simply feel them, and instead of getting used to them, they at times feel less pleasant the longer I wear them. The problem is variable. The uppers of the Holliway are fine, quite similar to the pair of Toachi 2s I have which I really like. The placement of the dreaded plastic loops which hurt some people's big toes and which anchor the toe straps are in exactly the same position as the Toachi 2 (over the big toe). If you want a similar Teva sandal where that loop is in a somewhat different position, try the Tanza Leather which has the loop placed a slightly to the side of the big toe instead of on top of it. To make my Toachi's wearable, I had to snip off the loop and substitute a piece of study string - results have been pretty good so far. I wore them for 4 hours yesterday - no "toe owchi" from my Toachi's. Had I kept the Holliways, I would have almost certainly made the same modification to them. FYI - the footpad/sole of the Holliway, while thick and shock absorbing, is actually much firmer than that of the Toachi 2. Consequently, the Holliway ends up providing, to my view, very little arch support. Even though I'm saying "Nyet" I think a lot of people would like this sandal, and it is very well made.

My husband loves these sandals but in just over a year the back strap has pulled out of the sole which is irreparable and makes them unwearable. This is the 2nd pair that this has happened to.

Comfortable, but front strap rotted out in less than a year! Wore these for work, and social use, light recreation. Wore with wet, freshwater-rinsed feet 2-3 times a week; That's probably what led to such a short life for these sandals. No other straps showed any signed of failure. What a waste. What's worse is that this is the SECOND pair of these Teva Holliway sandals I've had that have rotted out the front strap in less than a year! Poor construction/design of the front strap section that embeds into the sole of the sandal. Don't buy these if you're going to be near the water or have wet feet!

It was time to replace my favorite Teva sandals, so I ordered the Teva Holliways, which were very similar but not quite up to the standard and style of my previous purchase (now apparently discontinued). The sandals were a little to long & a little too wide but the same size as my old ones which fit perfectly. My impression was that this was a stripped down cheaper version of the previous sandal. Still, I might have kept them but for the chemical smell, apparently from the soles. after I tried them on I had to remove them and put them out on the patio, the smell was that bad. Two days later the smell was still there so I boxed them up and returned them to Zappo's.

the Velcro strips - fasteners - do not work properly and will come loose in no time.

Love TEVA sandals. Dear Teva why did you stop making the women's sandals with the CLIP. Women Love Convenience TOO you know !!!

Product was as I expected the only thing I would do is move the Bacot from the outside to the inside of the foot it would be much easier to open and shut

This is my husband's favorite hiking sandal. He bought his first pair 8 years ago and they finally fell apart. Great value and he thinks they're super comfortable - like all teva shoes.

This is my second pair of this sandal. I had my first pair for about 3 years,but they finally wore out. This pair fit like the first pair I had...perfect. I get a lot of use out of these in the summer months and they are very well made. As always the service from Zappos was to notch,I ordered them and received them the next day with free shipping...you can’t beat that. So if you want a casual and comfortable pair of sandals,I highly recommend them.

These are pretty much like the pair I had for 2 years that I beat into the ground (wore them every time I was home, vacations to Utah and the Caribbean, and early spring, all summer, late into the fall). I had purchased a more expensive pair initially that just didn’t work, so I was concerned these wouldn’t either, but so far they are great and I’m looking forward to beating them up over the next couple of years.

Perfect for summertime, nice and steady.
