I got the other color (coral trim) in the same shoe, same size, this one was too narrow. LOVE the fit of the other one,,however I followed the reviews and ordered a half size down. Length was great. I wear a true 7.5, and size 7 was perfect. Great arch support, and great tread!

Returning this item, They were very nice, fit true to size and very comfortable, but looked too much like a tennis shoe, I preferred the Merrells for what i will be using them for. It was a hard decision, this is an excellent shoe.

Just received my new Salomon X Ultra Prime shoes. Been wearing them in the house to assure that I will able to use them on the treadmill at the gym. But no breaking in necessary. They fit right out of the box. They do run a little large, so I am happy to say I did order 1/2 size down and gotten the size 6 not my usual 61/2. I love the color, almost like a very dark shade of purple! Now the laces are regular tie laces and I would have liked the ones you can tuck in better, but it certainly is not a deal breaker. Overall Love them and give the a big thumbs up!

I just received my shoes and put them on. Wow! What a nice fit and so comfortable. I read other reviews before I ordered and ordered these a half size smaller. I always purchase a 7.5 in running shoes, but got the 7 in this one and they are perfect. Will be wonderful for winter walking/hiking/running. Thanks, Zappos!

Very nice looking. Did find they were a little narrow and had to go up a half size to accommodate thicker socks for hiking.

I have a very wide foot and this B is perfect. The shoe looks more red in the pic but is in reality more of a dark raspberry sort of carmine. My daughter still loved them (and is totally in tomboy/no girly stuff mode). They are great for hiking and walking about. She's also played soccer and basketball in them at school. She has gotten tons of compliments on them and I just ordered a pair for myself. They are a fantastic shoe and appear very well constructed. The sole reminds me of a truck tire. Can't wait to hike in my own pair!

Bought these for my daughter, who has several serious foot problems and frequent pain. She says this is the first time she can remember a shoe feeling comfortable right away. She has flat feet, a short heel cord, long big toes with hallux limitus, and narrow feet. I think the shape and adjustability of the shoe are helpful with the foot shape issues, and the support and cushioning help with the others.

So comfortable! I wore these shoes all day on the first day I took them out of the box. No breaking in needed. The color is great for matching to any color. I wear a 5.5 or 6 so I started with a 5.5. That pair was a little too long in the toe. I sent them back and ordered the 5. Just right! durable, well crafted and attractive shoe for hiking and walking.

I like these a lot. I wear a 7 in most shoes, but for hiking I usually size up a whole size. I got these in a 7½ and they have plenty of toe room. I have pretty narrow feet and these fit in the heel but have a nice wide toe box which I like for hiking. I have only done a three mile break in hike, but it had a lot of steep uphill. They were totally comfortable with no rub spots. These are a good mix between trail runner and hiking shoes - they are light, but with good traction.

I chose another shoe I was in the market for a hiking shoe for distance.

This shoe was a little snug for a person who needs a wider shoe. I normally wear a 9.5 wide and need a roomy toebox. I have two pair of Solomons in 9.5 M that were plenty wide so I tried these, but they were a true M rather than being on the wide side like some of theirs are. Otherwise it was a comfortable shoe. I will be keeping another pair I ordered (Keene).

I love Salomon shoes because I need a shoe with a wider toe box. These fit the bill for my feet and are very comfortable.

Very Comfy. Grippy soles. Roomy but I wish they offered wide sizes. While traction is good, the soles are flexible. Orthotics are helpful if you need a more rigid bottom to avoid too much flex. The purple color is cute without being cutesy.

This is my first pair of Salomon's shoes. I was looking for the X- Mission XR for flat trail running, but couldn't find them so I did I little research and this seemed to be good enough. They're a little stiffer than the Mission XR, but I kind of liked that I can feel enough support for my ankles and the cushion is better than I though, transition from trail to road is ok but like a said they do feel a little stiff for road. I noticed that a lot of previous reviews said that they run long and is true, I usually wear 61/2 and I had to go with 6. They hug my feet with just the right amount of support. I don't think that a person with wide feet would felt comfortable wearing this, I tried with both medium thick socks and thin quick dry ones it felt good but with the thin ones I felt more room for my toes and cooler since the fabric of this shoes is a little thick and warm for south texas weather. There's only two cons:One am not to crazy about the color, they're mostly purple and the lucite green is not that pretty either. I just wish they were a little for funky like Salomon colors usually are. I think men shoes colors are the coolest!!. And they other con is the plush tongue and collar is just a little too much for my liking it prevents me from tightening the lases the way I like. But non of those cons are I turn off, I've grown to like them I wore the them for a whole week to work and my errans in other to break them in before my trial event and they were very confortable, have excellent grip even on wet tile! Look like they're going to last quite a bit. Probably going to buy more Salomons even before these bit the dust, literally!!

Excellent shoe comfort and wear! I'd give it 5 stars if it were not for the fact that the colour is misrepresented by the picture. It is more a fuscia than a red. I'm not enthralled with the colour, but the comfort of the shoe sold me. Great for hiking and biking

Overall, this is a good shoe. I feel it runs a little bigger in size. I typically wear a size 8 but I probably could have gone down a half size and still been okay. I love the arch support and the cushion in the soles.

I use these Salomon X Ultra Prime shoes for afternoon mild to moderate intensity trail hikes. The terrain is uneven, somewhat rocky and I do some climbing, but not highly challenging ascents. The shoes are very comfortable and I have not experienced any foot pain when hiking. They are stable, but not rigid, and have adequate arch support. These fit well in my usual street shoe size. My feet are slightly wide, so sometimes I need a C-width in shoes, but these have enough toe room for me in the only width that is made, even with my fairly thick socks (Thorlo running socks). These shoes are not waterproof, which is not an issue for me, but might be important to you if you hike through a lot of very wet areas. It lacks the Salomon quicklace system, which is my only disappointment with this shoe, which I otherwise like very much and recommend with enthusiasm. (If they were quicklace, I would buy three or four pairs right now so that I would never have to look for another hiking shoe ever.)
