This is a high quality shoe that feels like an athletic shoe but has the design and look of a solid trail shoe. You immediately notice the quality as you remove it from the box, and this impression is confirmed as soon as you put it on...excellent fit, comfort, and traction. Some reviews say that these shoes run a half-size small, but that was not my experience. What is clear is that these are built for off-road activities, so the shoes hug your feet as is needed for hiking a rough trail. But this snug fit is quite comfortable, and I have not noticed any rubbing or discomfort for extended wear. The Salomon X Ultra Prime looks great and backs it up with performance...highly recommended!

Worn these shoes for a week so far. I have a very narrow foot and these 12D fit very well on my feet. I won't know how these work on a lengthy hike until I get out to the trails (probably in April when the weather warms up).

This was A gift for my husband. He has difficulty finding shoes for his wide, short toes and narrow heels. This is his second pair of the same shoes (different color).

The first pair lasted me years. They make a good product.

Awesome shoes, true to size for sure. I use them for trail walking in Arizona and they are perfect. Excellent grip on dry and wet surfaces, very comfortable with no rubbing on the foot or ankle. Highly recommend.

I usually wear merrell shoes so needed a change to something else - a day hiker that I could wear for multiple activities like mtn biking, work, walking town on a snowy day etc. these Salomon shoes are great. I normally wear a 10.5 in keen and 11 in merrell. I got the 11 and they are perfect w regular socks. Although they will need a pair of super feet inserts! Will buy this brand again

I’m 51 years old and have been a marathon runner for 35 years. In the past few years I’ve noticed running shoes don’t support or last nearly as long as they used to, so I decided to try the Salomon X Ultra Prime. Well, I’m now on my 5th pair and I can unequivocally say this shoe is possibly the best running shoe I’ve ever had. I weigh 170 lbs and typically get 6-8 months out of this shoe running 90-110 miles a week.
