I love these. Bought them for when it gets cold so I just started wearing them, but they are comfy. I have orthotics and they fit well with them in. In the morning, the boots are a bit stiff, but they soften up during the day. And they are warm. I'm glad I bought them.

I agree with other reviewers that boot runs about a half size to full size too small. I'm usually a 5 1/2 to 6 and ordered a 6. The boot was a little snug. Ordered the 6 1/2 and they fit perfectly! I wore them shortly thereafter on a day hike and they were wonderful. No breaking-in necessary. Plus they are really cute!!! LOVE these boots.

I am a man with small feet so I have to buy women's hiking boots. It's never a big deal and, not unlike my Merrells or Asolos, they fit nicely. There was a bit of tightness under the tongue/on the instep when I first got them, but with a little adjustment of the laces and some wear in it subsided. I wear thin-ish hiking socks but if you want to wear thicker ones, I would order a half-size up. I also think they look fantastic with pants or shorts. That's the good. Here's the bad ...
Think Bon Jovi - SLIPPERY WHEN WET! If you will be anywhere with water and anything other than sand or gravel beneath you, there are probably better options out there. We were in Ireland where it rains daily so I was hopping between gravel, stone, pavement, shopping centers, etc. and they were slick. They are so slippery that on multiple occasions my foot actually slipped off the clutch pedal in the car - pretty dangerous.

These boots are really cute and sturdy, and they felt great right out of the box. However, walking just a little bit at a normal clip caused them to hurt my feet and ankles in so many ways! Unfortunately, they have to go back. Too rigid for me.

[Update] Jury still out on this Oboz!
I posted about these boots a week ago or so. Since then, I took them out for a spin, to break them in.... did that twice, a total of abut 4.72 miles... my ankles are bruised and tendered from the stiff, unyeilding ankle cuffs/wraps.... I need a break from wearing them at this point to give my ankles some recovery time. I prefer mid-hi boots to regular sneakers for ankle support bec of previous ankle injuries, prone to twisting them. I want to love this cute Oboz and don't want to send them back, but I might have to. (((sigh)))

LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots! I'm a pretty consistent 9-9.5. I ordered a 9.5 to start and they fit but my toes were right at the end which is not really something you want when hiking. You need a bit of room for the piggies. Ordered the 10 and they are PERFECT! Got in a few miles in walking through an airport in preparation for my big hike (with spare shoes in my bag in case I needed to swap out) and I had zero issues. Comfortable out of the box. Needed very little break-in. Good support. Great tread. I'm very happy.

I bought these when I went to replace my wind river III model but found they were no longer made. The Zappos customer service rep recommended these and I confess I considered going with a less expensive pair. Am I glad I didn't. I hiked in these for the first time today, and they are perfect. They are cut narrow, which is just what I need, and they hold my feet and bony ankles in a perfect combination of comfort and stability. They are indeed just as divinely waterproof as my others, and they are even nearly attractive, as far as hiking boots can be. I really am thrilled with them and so grateful that Zappos customer service are as knowledgeable as they are nice!

I have no complaints whatsoever. Very sturdy and supportive. I wear orthotics, and that's ok with these as well. I love the style and the supportive fit. They feel a LITTLE "stiff," but of course they're brand new and I have to wear them in a little.

Not all hiking boot manufacturers make a Wide. It's absolutely necessary for me, given an issue with arthritis in a toe joint. This is my second pair of these boots in a Wide and I'm tickled all over again. Have only worn them on 2 short hikes, each 4 miles, but so far they feel like they are broken in right now. The tread is nice and aggressive and grips very well. The first pair proved to be excellent at keeping my feet dry; I figure that these will too.
Thank you Oboz for making a sturdy women's boot, a serious hiking boot, with such great quality and looks and Wide sizing! As long as you keep making these I'll keep buying them and singing your praises!

These boots were a dream to wear, right out of the box. For years I have been dealing with foot fractures, and so need a stiffer sole and a wide toe box. The wide is just perfect for me. I hike everyday, and there has not been a single hot spot with these boots. Love them!

The most perfect hiking boot I’ve ever owned. I’ve had these for 4 years and they are just now worn out. I trekked 100+ miles in Nepal and my feet were never hurting, apart from just trekking in Nepal. I highly suggest this boot!

I LOVE these boots! No break in period necessary. These were comfortable right out of the box. I shopped in these all day on Black Friday and never dropped. The vibrant red looks very nice. My husband was jealous that they don't make men's in that color.

So this is my second pair of these Oboz boots, and my third pair of Oboz overall. I got the awesome red boots at another store 2 years ago, and don't know how I lived without them. I marched all over France for 2 weeks - cobblestones, dirt roads, city streets - with no pain. They have removable insoles, which is important to me, as I wear custom orthotic inserts. They are tight on the sides - which I like - but which others might find strange, if they're used to Keens or similar. Keens tend to have me sliding side to side, though they're also very well-made. As another reviewer mentioned, the thing I like best is the slight rounding in the heel - this allows for a smooth forward motion that I love. The color is more like a chocolate brown (which I prefer!) than a tan, just fyi.

love these but ended up being too bulky for me, especially around the ankle. I am an 8.5/39 in shoes, and a 9 in sneakers. the 9.5 in these fit me well with thick socks and I like a little room for feet swelling. back they go. I’ve tried on 5 pairs of Oboz! FYI, “premium” leather Oboz Bridger in 9.5 was way tighter than this one.

Very well-made shoes. Too padded at the top for me. Felt flat inside. Maybe they would fit my foot with orthotics but they were definitely too heavy for daily use so I'll have to kleep looking.

Great shoe but not shaped for my foot. Vey straight on the outside edge so doesn't conform to my spread. I haven't received the shoe yet but after trying on the other one, I could see that it appeared even straighter than the Premium. Sorry

So far I am happy with these boots. Looking to upgrade to a more substantial hiking boot, I chose these Oboz and based on the reviews, went a half size up. This was good advice. I immediately replaced the insole with my go-to PowerStep inserts which has given the boot a perfect amount of arch support. I'm wearing these with a thin performance anklet and have sufficient room in the toe box. Taking them out on a small hike after a week of wearing them around the house on short walks with the pups, I was happy with their stability and how my entire leg felt stronger to confidently move on downslopes with loose gravel. My foot did not slip to the front which is important for me as I suffer with ingrown toenails. Only complaint is unpleasant pressure on the outside ankle bone on my right foot. I'm hopeful this will resolve with continued wear. An added bonus is they look good--not too boxy.

I bought these to replace my beloved Vasque Wasatch GTXs, which have been discontinued :( So far so good... I've hiked once in these boots, and they are very comfortable. I have a wide foot, and these wides could be a little wider for me, but I think they will stretch slightly over time. Zappos free returns is awesome because I think I've tried every wide hiking boot offered and finally found "the one"

I really wanted to love these boots and tried walking around in my house with them on for several days. However, my feet just felt squished and my toes went numb after 15 minutes of wearing them. I usually wear Keen because I really like the arch support and wide toe box so I can wiggle my toes around. I will likely try a different boot from Oboz that has better arch support and a half size up. I have a feeling these boots are probably pretty awesome for someone with a narrow foot and doesn't require substantial arch support.

Over a year ago I tried the recommended size and the shoe fit. I was comparing it to a pair of LL Bean boots for an upcoming fishing trip. I chose the LL Bean but remembered the Oboz for future reference for winter wear. Hard to understand why the same style/size boots that felt good a year ago don't now. I've tried four sizes in Regular width and am going to try Wide, if they exist. The quality is very good and so is arch support. I appreciate Zappos' great service.

I really wanted to be able to wear these boots and I might have ordered a larger size except the arch support seemed to hit me on the wrong part of my foot and the toe box wasn't as wide as I like.

love the boot BUT!!! There is no ring to help get it on the foot and it is a struggle even after two years wearing them/ My only complaint but enough of a hassle that I won't repurchase.

I bought them a few months ago, waiting for cold weather. They seem stiff when I put them on, then they loosen up during the day. I live in an old building and work in another old building, so my feet can get cold. It's been hovering around zero this last week, and my feet aren't completely warm outdoors. But warm and comfy indoors enough that I forget to take them off.
They are great for walking in crushed down snow, I don't know about deep snow. And they slip on ice if you aren't paying attention.

This was my first time with this brand. The boots look well-made and I love the red color. The sizing is a problem. Unfortunately even the wide width was way too narrow for me. I tried them on while wearing thin gym socks and could barely squeeze into them. No way could I wear with the thick wool socks I use for hiking.
