We use to buy Brooks because our foot doctor told us that they were the best...they broke down in less than 3 months! This new Balance shoe is great, especially for people with foot problems!

These shoes keep my over pronation problem under control and look good but could use thicker insoles. Some call me a hard core walker 2593 mile last year much of that in my 1540s.

My right foot is clubbed. Multiple surgeries when I was young has made it manageable. Now that I'm older I have arthritis in the foot. Usually a pair of shoes lasts me around 3 months before they turn over. This shoe lasted almost a year before it tore apart on me. I love them.

This pair of New Balance M1540v2 was purchased for a friend who already owns a pair he purchased from a local store which has since gone out of business. This review has been compiled based on his feedback of the pair purchased from Zappos'.

I think I've finally found the great shoe. I need a 4e width and New Balance has plenty. This shoe has a stiff heal counter and good stability side to side (arch support). I also need these features. Will be back for another pair.

Fit just as expected. This is the second pair I have purchased for my very active teenager. He has wide feet and these shoes do not pinch. We will purchase again.

I am an avid runner with a major challenge of having large and very narrow feet. I tried these hoping that they would fit my needs. The fit was okay, but because I need a large size; 14, I'm sad to say that they weight is just too great. They are very heavy when running in them.

I was very hesitant to order shoes online, but the help sizing length and width, as well as the return policy made me reasonably confident I would be okay. Shoes arrived quickly and looked as advertised. I slipped my feet into these shoes and knew in an instant that I made the right decision. I am very happy with sizing, look and feel! Made in the USA is the icing on the cake.

I was so appreciative of reviewers who put helpful information in their review. I was looking to replace my husband's NB1123's as was another reviewer. This pair was what we needed! Saved time and frustration when a favorite shoe is no longer made. With the reviews available, instead of searching through 10 or more options to find a good fit, I could narrow a selection to 4 and came out with 2 good pairs to purchase. Thanks to Zappos, I have no fear of trying the shoes and knowing the return process will go well.

These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn! Even more comfortable than the 990 series that I have worn for over 20 years. Right out of the box, they feel wonderful. I use the highest lace hole to keep them snug on my feet. I have a narrow foot and the B width fits well on my heel.

My hubby loves them. He wears these all the time. He does have some ankle issues, which do not bother him when wearing the shoes.

These are great for people with balance problems. Get the model with the rollbar. Recommended by our doctor and they work! Make sure you get the right size: New Balance shoes often seem to run a bit smaller than other brands. And Zappos delivered them immediately as promised.

Fit is true and comfortable. alternate between the black and grey models, wish they put it out in white too. Have had a half dozen pairs, I get 6 months of use for commuting, etc. before need to replace.

Bought these for my husband in an 11 1/2 narrow. They are very stylish--and feel very comfortable he says. It's hard to find this type of shoe in this size. Would like to find something a little less expensive, but these should last for awhile.

I have bunions and poor arches and a terrible time finding comfortable shoes. These are great along with my powerstep orthotics. Have two pairs and will buy more.

The shoes are attractive and comfortable, particularly for a guy with arthritic feet. However, the eyelet on one shoe stretched wide and seems like it will eventually tear. In any event, the shoes are not attractive with that problem. I am exchanging in hopes that the problem is not affecting all of the shoes.
