Very comfortable shoe. I do a lot of city running, and my minumus shoes weren't doing the job, so I decided to get something with a little more support, these are great. My foot is just a little wide, so I decided to go with the wide version - I probably would have been okay with the regular-width shoe. I also have high arches, that sometimes get squished with certain shoes, but these did not do that.

Wore these right out of the box hiking the long trail in Vermont. 20 miles later, no blisters, no issues. I have wide feet and with my heavier socks these still were very comfortable and and secure on the trail.

I'm very happy with my purchase. New Balance has been my go-to brand for a long time. I have wide, rather flat feet. Thus, not easy to fit. These are comfortable, felt great from the first day, and are an all-around fun, colorful addition to my shoe collection. Would definitely order them again. I was unsure of my size, so ordered two sizes, sent one back, and Zappos made it so easy. This is the way to shop for me!

Like walking with two pillows strapped to your feet! I wanted a lightweight hiking shoe but these are really trail running shoes. Nonetheless, they will make great hiking shoes too. They are SO comfortable!

I loved these shoes from the first time I wore them. I even ordered a second pair. Great for hiking or walking. Good support and great tread for hiking.

So far, so good! Love my new balance athletic wear! I walk about 5 - 7 miles a day, often time on uneven pavement (dirt, mud, rock, city/urban). Hoping that these shoes can handle the wear and tear! Bought these to encourage & motivate me!

I love these shoes! I am training to do a 39 mile walk and purchased these along with two other pairs of trail walking/running shoes. These worked out the best for me. They are very light and comfortable with plenty of room for your toes. No blisters. Plus they are made in the USA!

I had to go up to a size 9½ a whole size larger than I normally wear. They still feel a little snug in toe area but think it will be ok. They have a rigid sole which is what I wanted to put my othotics in and minimize movement for plantar fasciitis. Zappos, thanks for being patient with all my returns!

Was looking for good heel cushioning for walking. Have added my own insole. The laces are very thin and would prefer thicker round style, but double knot keeps them tight. Zappos is great if you need to order online & return for size or style.

I do love these shoes. The grey/purple combo is very pretty. However, I expected them to be more purple as the photo shows. The purple is barely noticeable (it's also lighter lilac) and the neon yellow, which I don't really care for, is very visible. I especially dislike the yellow toe tag (and knew that going in). These were purchased to use in dog sports where footwork is important. A little dirt smudged on the toe takes care of it. That said, these shoes are super comfy! I purchased a 7.5 wide and it gives me enough room to wear thicker socks in the winter or insert an arch support. My normal size varies between a 7 and a 7.5 wide. Because of my wide foot, it's difficult to find a comfortable sneaker. I wear them much more than expected partly because they can be left tied and slipped on.

Part of what makes me say aah when I slip on a good pair of sneakers is a supportive arch. I have super wide feet and moderately high arches and I like support in my shoes. These shoes felt a half size smaller than the Nikes I usually wear. The width in the toe box was fantastic. The arch support is virtually non-existent. The shoes are very attractive and breathe well. I'm keeping them and we'll just get an arch insert. The customer service with Zappos was amazing! I almost returned the shoes because I found them for less on another site but it was worth the extra money to stay with Zappos just for the customer service alone. They exchanged my shoes no problem. They were on my porch the next day. They were a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't buy shoes any other way!

I'm loving these shoes. Just wish the shoelaces were about 6 inches longer. I want to be able to make use of the extra hole to really lace them up tight. They are not nearly long enough to do that.

I love the look of these shoes and want them to work so badly--but after a week, the jury is still out. At first, I thought they were too small because my big toe was right up against the tip. But the shoe laces weren't in the last holes, so once I made that adjustment, my foot stays farther back in the shoe--but I still have to lace them up really tightly to keep my foot from slipping forward, so I'm still not sure about them. I've been wearing New Balance athletic shoes for 20 years, and I've always gotten a great fit wearing 6 1/2 medium, which is what these are, and I know a 7 will be too big. And other than what I've mentioned above, they are extremely comfortable. So I'm going to give them a longer test run.

I have a wide foot, but this was on of the few hiking shoes that I could comfortably fit into. I didn't have a chance to break them in before our vacation to various national parks, yet they didn't cause me any problems at all. They provided great traction cliimbing over rocks and going down gravelly trails.

After trying on 4 pairs of hiking boots-shoes, these are the ones I chose. Pros: Great cushioning and wide enough toe box. Cons: when wearing my orthotic the heel slips just a bit. Had to move up one size. Overall easy to wear and comfortable shoe.

I used these for easy to moderate hiking. I wanted something that I could also run in if I wanted and these fit the bill. I initially ordered a 10 but they were too small. I returned those and reordered a 10½ and they are just fine. I love the color and tread.

Nice looking shoe, fairly priced and made in the USA! One complaint: the shoelaces are skimpy both in heft and length. I have plantar fasciitis and they accommodate my orthotics nicely and the sole provides plenty of cushioning. Overall very happy with these shoes.

Got these for a hiking trip in southwest USA, primarily bc wide hiking type shoes are hard to find in stores. Super comfy, didn't take long to break in, good support during the trip (I have orthotic inserts for low arches though). However, the mesh areas have already started to fray on both shoes after 2 weeks of use.

This is the only pair of New Balance sneakers I have tried that did not look blocky or feel heavy. Quite the opposite - they are very lightweight and breathable. On the sizing, I have found that most of their styles either slip at the ankle and/or are too narrow in my correct size. With this pair, everything fit perfectly except my toes touch the top of the sneaker even though I went up half a size. If I sized up any more, the heel would slip. Otherwise I thought they were one of the most comfortable sneakers that I have tested out in the last few months, and I have tested a lot. If only they did not seem to stop a half inch too short so that my toe did not constantly hit against the top of the shoe they would be perfect. The style is also a huge improvement over the rest of the New Balance offering. The shoelaces are cute but do tend to undo themselves even while strolling slowly, and need to be laced up tightly. If you do not experience that toe problem these are ones to try. I used them to hike five miles over a rocky trail and they were a great choice for that, and my toe did not hurt after all that walking but nevertheless it did make for a less enjoyable walk feeling as if my sneakers were too short on top. Since I tried so many other sneaker brands and could not do any better in the comfort department, and as I already used them, I will hang on to them, but unless the issue is fixed in the future I am not going to repurchase.

Shoe is comfortable but small. There is ample width in the toe box, but I could feel my socks (lightweight) pressing my foot when I laced the shoe. So although the toe box was wide, it wasn't deep. I wear an 8/12-9 and ordered a 9 1/2 wide. Also the pink/coral is totally shocking pink and the laces are odd and flat.

Funny your request came as I was, again, attempting to try wearing these sneaks. I so love the color, such a well known brand, had them on, walking 3 hours, had to take them off. The right shoe just doesn't accommodate my foot & pinches/squeezes mercilessly! Left foot is just fine. I expect these will be given away. Very disappointed because they hurt so much & this has happened on several wearings. Don't think I can do anything to stretch the toe box on the right shoe.

These are comfortable but there is absolutely no arch support. I walk at least 5 miles a day between commuting and work and my feet are not liking these sneakers. I'm going to buy arch supports to see if that helps. My last New Balance 510s were perfect. Should have stuck with what I know.

These have the classic running shoe look and feel. But they have this wide look and just did not seem that extraordinary to me. I am returning them. I am going with the Solomon Speedcross instead.
