I bought the PureConnect 4 after really liking the 2 but not the 3 as much. So, I thought I'd take a risk. I'd read several reviews about the improvements made, and I'd have to agree. The shoe is lightweight but has a good amount of underfoot cushioning. It's snug, and if you have wider feet, it's definitely not for you, but I wouldn't say that it's overly narrow either. For regular shoes I wear size 8 (mostly), but for pretty much all running shoes I go up to 8.5, including these. The color is also fun! :-)

I love the PureConnect in general - this is my third pair. I had the 1 and the 2 as well. With this one though, the reinforced toe pulls back and dents in between my toes. I thought maybe I just had a defective pair, and Zappos graciously sent me a new pair to try, but they did the exact same thing almost immediately. That said, I kept them and still wear them daily. They are just too comfortable otherwise and also help alleviate pain in my arches. If I actually used them for running, I think the caved in toe would be pretty uncomfortable, but for my purposes the good outweighs the bad.

I LOVE the style and lightness of the shoe. I have a pair of the Brooks Pure Connect (1's I guess) and those shoes are the most comfortable running shoes I've owned. The pod soles on the bottom feel like pillows that give you a spring to your stride. They are awesome! So shopping more Pure Connects and getting these 4's, I had the same expectation. They soles are not as springy, and don't feel like they have the same arch support. Its the only reason I gave them 4 stars. More love for the style.

These look great! They are slightly smaller than my other Brooks, but I like to wear my shoes snug. They have slightly less cushioning than my others as well, but are still comfortable for long days on your feet.

I have worn this shoe for many years. I run from 20-35 miles a week. It was awesome, fit like a glove. Then they changed it up, for the worse, the last couple of years. I couldn't even wear it. But Brooks brought back the good ol' shoe it used to be! It is a great shoe. Still a minimal, with a 4mm toe/heel drop, but cushioned enough to run in the cement jungle! One little change is that it is a little bigger in the toe box and that was not a good change. I was a 6 but now I'm in between the 5 1/2 and 6. Stick with your original size but get a thicker sock.

These shoes are not what I thought based on the picture. The fabric is a neoprene and the laces are thin and slippery. The shoes were comfortable but better for someone with a wider foot. Had to return them.

This is my fourth pair of Brooks PureConnect. I am a minimus runner and these shoes provide a decent amount of protection from the ground while still emphasizing a minimus design. This model however does not have the "burrito tongue" and I find that the tongue slides laterally as my run progresses. Other than this annoyance, these shoes are great. Very comfortable and attractive. After reading other reviews I decided to go up a half size as my second toe always felt a bit cramped and this was a good idea. This pair fits perfectly at 11.5. Delivery was very quick, quicker than if I had ordered them in a regular store.

I really love Brooks running shoes and have been loyal to the brand for about 3 years. I alternate between the pure cadence 3 and pure connect 1. I love the look & color of the new connect, but it seems to run a bit bigger than previous versions. It's a good low profile shoe with some arch support. I plan on using this shoe in my running rotation.

I am a fan of the Under Armour Speedform shoes and decided to try another lightweight shoe in a different brand. This was my first pair of Brooks. I really wanted to love this shoe - the fit felt perfect and true to size, the high arch took a bit of getting used to however. They are also super cute! Only complaint - which is cause enough to return - is the toe bed on the left shoe dented in (slightly) after a few wears and it felt like something was in my shoe, irritating. Otherwise, these are great shoes!

I was really disappointed that these were so small. I wear a size 11 or 12 depending on the brand and when I tried these on my toe pushed over the front edge of the shoe. I was really looking forward to seeing how these worked out. I guess I'll have to give the men's version a try instead.

I have been wearing the PureConnect shoes for several years now and loved them. I have very narrow feet and these shoes have fit perfectly. Unfortunately the changes made to the 4 made them a no go for me. They are wider and much softer. They now have a very plush cushiony feel and are bulkier. I could not tie them tight enough to not side around but the overall length actually felt slightly shorter than the same size in the 2 and 3 from years past.

These shoes are very light and provide a lot of cushion. The color is great. They have a funny roll ball - like cushion around the ball of the foot that hits my foot at the wrong place. The heel is lower than the forefoot. For these reasons I will be returning them.

Agree with prior reviewer who experienced the toe box "dent" -- had the same thing happen on a trial run, but only on the right shoe, and not on the left.. which leads me to believe it may be a defect in manufacturing. It is very comfortable just walking but while running, the toe dent would pop in and out with every forward flex of my right foot. It was something I never had issues with in prior pure connect series (ran in the 2013 model), so this was disappointing. Will have to return.

I wear this line of brooks and have been for years - but this pair or version is awful. The weird accentuated split at the big toe causes the shoe to cave in and rub on your toe while you're running. I would return these, except I've already put 15 or 20 miles on them, so probably can't return them. Guess I should find a new running shoe.

These shoes actually hurt my feet, causing cramps in the arches. I loved the Pure Connect 2's but these are a complete redesign that didn't work at all. Don't know I will stay with this brand, although I've been wearing them for years. I hesitated before keeping them, wore them outside, and now someone at the thrift store will get a brand new pair of shoes.

I ordered the same size I normally wear in this brand and I would say this shoe was 1 size smaller then normal. That is too bad because the color and comfort were great!

Disappointed. I really wanted another pair of the Pure Cadence by Brooks, but they are getting harder and harder to find. So, I bought these shoes about three weeks ago thinking they may compare to the P Cadence. Not even close! Within the first week, the toe box was giving way. They are true to size, but they are not supportive like I need as a nurse. I swear by Brooks shoes, but this was a disappointing purchase. Please bring back more options for Pure Cadence!!

Even for a minimalist shoe, I still expect support from the body of the shoe. I've been wearing the Brooks Pure shoe line for a few years (and love them) but the Pure Connect 4 is a departure from the prior models. Everything about this shoe feels flimsy and cheap. While the sole feels the same, and the fit is good, the body of the shoe is made of what feels like a sweatshirt fabric (similar to the Sketchers Go Walk line, which I wear for casual activity, not athletic). I can't imagine the Pure Connect 4 shoe providing much lateral stability, even on flat, urban surfaces. Additionally, the toe box provides little to no protection. Even if I didn't worry about lateral stability or toe box integrity, I can't imagine the fabric has much longevity. The tongue in this model is detached (it was attached in prior models - arguably a requirement for any good running shoe), thin, and flimsy. And the shoe laces are stretchy and springy - I would expect them to stretch over the course of a run - the prior models included textured laces that stay in place. I don't want to spend money on a pair of shoes and have to buy replacement laces as well. These are going back.

As someone else mentioned, I also had a problem with one of the toe boxes denting super irritating, distracting, and would probably cause a blister on the top of my middle toe if I continued to run in them. Quite upsetting, 'cause other than that they were perfect one of the few shoes I found that would accommodate my orthotics without being too tight. Growl.

I loved the first and second versions of Pure Connect shoes. Sadly they have changed so much, I am looking for a new favorite. The latest pair have the thick elastic on top. Had to cut it off of the shoe. The holes for the laces are in the wrong places for my foot. The heels are not as narrow as previous versions and slip. Cool colors though!

Very dissapointed with this shoe, Because of the way the shoe is made in the front it caved in and feels terrible and uncomfortable, kind of like those seperate toe shoes would. Not worth it to me, otherwise they were my favorite out of 20 pairs I tried on.

I had a similar issue as another reviewer mentioned: less than two weeks after I got these sneakers, the toe box on the right shoe collapsed and dented in, making it unusable. I got these shoes to replace an identical older pair -- no problems with the older pair, so maybe this is a defect that only exists in certain shoes.

I loved these shoes and have worn Brooks for years. They were comfortable and I thought perfect until the toe started denting in on the right shoe, which felt like a rock was in my shoe. I thought it was a defect so I exchanged them for another pair of the same shoe. The third time I wore them the left toe box started denting in. I'm so disappointed. I tried returning them again to the store today but because I didn't have a receipt they wouldn't let me return them. I believe I left the receipt with the store after the first time I exchanged them. So frustrating!

I was loving these shoes, but within a couple of workouts, the toe box creased and cut into my big toe. I was so sad! I hope they fix this because I loved my last pair of Pure Connects, and they were super comfortable in every other way.
