Others wrote this in their reviews but I tried them anyway: the calf size is snug. I don’t have big legs, and while they fit, wearing over my jeans would be uncomfortable. They didn’t work for me. Sadly I had to return them.

Unfortunately after the first day of wearing, the top of the boot began peeling up. I have had other hunter boots before and did not have this issue. Bummed because I cannot wear them like this

Hunter is a UK brand so I wrongly assumed that the size I was piking from was UK, especially since the size chart provided UK conversions. You’re selecting from US sizing.

Did not last very long. Wore during the rainy season in Seattle for about a year and the seam around the toe broke open and water seeps in now. Not very comfortable but it's what I usually expect from rubber boots. Just wish they were more durable. Not worth the price.

I do not have thick calves. The shaft was so narrow, That even wearing tights would have been too much.

The calf is soooo small. I don’t have big calves by any means. And I could not get these off without help! Which is unfortunate Bc I’ve been dying for hunter rain boots for such a long time! Very disappointed :(

TOo narrow around calf. Will only fit if I’m wearing leggings .... will return

They were so cute but the calves were very very tight. I couldn’t comfortably wear them or get them off.

The boot is absolutely beautiful but if you don’t have skinny legs and small calves, the but will not go up your legs. They can’t be stretched. My calves were too big but the foot was true to size. I sent them back. ?

Hunter boots have gone downhill. These are wide at the calf and sloppy looking.

The size 10 felt smaller at the foot. The tall leg cuffs were very small.

Hunter has really gone downhill. i have always bought and loved their products but this latest pair is floppy and has given me blisters. I am hoping I can return them even though i wore them because the fit is nothing like my past pairs.

Don't buy these if you are a runner/have "normal" size calves! I've ALWAYS wanted a pair of Hunter boots and finally splurged to buy these... only to get them and find that they are too narrow in the calf. I'm heartbroken! I'm athletic and my calf in skin-tight skinny jeans is 15". I could just BARELY get them on, they bulged at the ankle, and I had to get my husband to pull them off. I guess you need Princess Kate size legs to wear them comfortably. Sooo disappointed to be sending them back. I ordered the ones that are adjustable at the back and hopefully they will be better.

So as far as the size the 7 fit as any other shoes would fit however the calf of these is crazy I do not have a large calf by any means and it’s so tight at the top and makes the boot all wrinkled and weird looking at the ankle and they are incredibly hard to get off! I would not recommend these to anyone that doesn’t have a very slim figure

This boot looks very nice, but is very uncomfortable. I’ve had these for 1.5 years and barely wear them because of how stiff and narrow they are. The heels and sides of my feet always hurt when wearing these. And unless you only wear these in warm weather, your feet will be cold. Even with thin wool socks. I tried wearing thick wool socks with them, but the added thickness only caused more pressure/pain to my feet. I’d recommend purchasing them in a size wider and larger.

This was the second pair of silver hunter boots that I have ordered. The first ones I got years ago love them so much and wore them to the point where the paint wore off and they just looked doll and gray. I finally decided to splurge on a second pair since I liked them so much. When they arrived they were very splotchy and bloomy. I wasn’t sure if they were an old batch hence the bloom but I find that ever since Hunter has had their products made in China they are just not as well made or durable as their original boot. They are really fun looking and practical but at the end of the day they are very overpriced Chinese boots that do not hold up and I think I am over my Wellie fascination.

I ordered these to replace my old pair (which finally developed holes in the bottom after seven years of frequent wear on streets and sidewalks). Like other reviewers, I found that the new boots fit differently -- the shaft is looser, the rubber creases too much around the ankle, and the top of the foot is not as high. Returned; such a bummer. On a positive note, I love the olive color.

Hit above my knee, feel too clunky on my legs.

I love the boots, comfortable and what I expected in terms of looks. However, my feet get wet when I wear them! I was hoping that with the name Hunter and the fact that I was buying a pair of rain boots...my feet would at least stay dry. Very disappointed. And of course, no response from Hunter. I have only had them since September (3 1/2 months).

Perhaps it is just this pair or perhaps it applies to the entire style, I don't know as I've never purchased Hunter boots. The pair I received has soles that appear to small/narrow for the foot, especially the right boot. They seemed flawed so I am sending them back and will double check this style at my local dept. store before buying these again.

I have Hunters that I have had for more than 10 years. Original green ones and I absolutely love them. I finally wanted black ones and ordered these. These were so disappointing! I am a true size 8. Everything was perfect in that regard. Footbed, length, width. My toes were not hitting the front while wearing normal socks etc. The problem was from the ankle up. They were huge. So wide it felt like I had clown boots on. They looked ridiculous. I have small calves (which did not help and served to make these look even weirder). But these looked like they had a manufacturing defect. I am returning these and hoping for success with Le Chameau Vierzon Jersey...

I tried these on in the department store to make sure I had the right size. The 8, my true size, fit well. But the pair Zappos sent felt a full size too large - more like a 9. They were also too tall and very smelly. They really reeked of rubber. So they lost my boot contest. I bought the Kamik Jennifer, which felt great on my feet and didn't smell at all. The shaft was a little wider than I would like, but the height was perfect and no tacky Hunter label in the front! I would have splurged for the Hunters had they been perfect, but they weren't even close.

Love these boots but I have had to order 4 pairs because the buckles have all been defective. I love them....but the buckles make me want to cry. One will stay put and the other will not work at all.

I really wanted to enjoy these boots but they just felt floppy and uncomfortable. They were so heavy and just flopped around on my feet! Also, the sizing is off because I ordered an 8 and they were huge, so I exchanged them for a 7 and they did not fit. In the end, I returned them because it is a waste of money if I am not going to be wearing them everyday.

Lasted less than 2 years of moderate use. Rubber perished and cracked. A fan of the product but needs some improvement on quality or they will lose customers
