I wear a size 8-8.5. I went smaller like some people had mentioned. They were too tight to get on and off. Too tight in my upper calf.

Fit fine everywhere except my calf. I have average-size claves and they were super tight! Returning for that reason.

I have to update my review of these. I wore these for months with almost no problem - I had to wear them with thick socks or else I’d get blisters. after several months I got blisters on my heels no matter what I did. all the reviews say to go a size down, but I should’ve gone a size up. A size down was ultimately too small and I think that’s why I kept getting blisters. if they hadn’t given me blisters I would’ve loved these! they totally hold up in Indiana winters if you use the inserts.

I do not, by any means, have huge calves; however, they are bigger than some after years of gymnastics. As such, I don’t think it’s fair how tiny the calf opening is. I know they make adjustable calf boots, but I prefer the sleekness of the original fit. That is my only complaint, as they are adorable and look great with any outfit (and they’d have to, cause they may be suctioned to your calf)

I have normal feet and wear a medium width. I ordered these in a size 9 (normally wear an 8.5). The length is right an I like they way they look, but they hurt trying to get them on and off, especially on the top of my foot close to my ankle. I also ordered the hunter original tall tour and liked them much more. They look the exact same, but I found them to be so much more comfortable with the added flexibility of the material than the originals.

Gorgeous boots and a great fit at the foot, but they were too tall and hit my knees at an awkward angle (I'm 5'6") and were too tight to wear heavy boot socks and pants with for the cold. I'm going to try another style from the brand and hope the fit is better.

Calf was not wide enough. Will need to exchange them for the adjustable top which are mor e expensive. Do not see a shipping return label on the box it came in. Web site advertises free shipping both ways but it is unclear how to do that. Will need to call the 800 number and request assistance

Boots are cute, however they run two sizes too big and are too small around my calf. Would return but have worn them in the elements.

I'm 5'4", average size. These boots fit well on my feet but were too tight on my calves. I had to return them.

I had wanted Hunter rain boots for a long time. I got them for my birthday and learned that I should have tried them on before ordering. Read reviews that the boots run big. I wish that they came in half sizes as the 10 was too big and the 9 was a bit too small. I ended up keeping the 9 because the 10 was too big. Zappos is awesome about exchanges and returns!

I would say that I have athletic calves (15") but these boots were way too tight on my calves. It was the same as earlier reviews, they were so tight that it created a suction around the top of the boot, which caused the ankle to flex weirdly. Measure your calves, mine are 15" and it was too snug! There would be no way to tuck skinny jeans or pants into these boots. The rest of the fit was true, I wear a 7½ and a 7 fit perfectly, width and all. Unfortunately they will be going back!

Got this pair of Hunters, love the color but the rubber material is to soft and wobbly! Between Hunters and the Kamik brand I will stick with Kamik! Looks exactly the same though Kamik are a type of stiffer rubber material, more comfortable, has better arch support and the price is half of a pair of Hunters! I've decided that paying for just "the name" or a "popular brand" is not worth my money! This much for rain boots is kind of ridiculous!

Very good looking, stylish rain boots but not for ladies with athletic calves. I measured my calves to ensure they fit with the measurements but they were still extremely tight and uncomfortable. For skinny calves only!

I am from England and still have my green Hunters (Huntress) that I bought in 1979 - They say Made in Britain. They are still in good shape but a little small as my foot is now bigger from years of running. They are a Euro size 38, UK 5.I really wanted the Navy Huntress but didn't know whether to go for the US 8 or 9. Knowing they are big I went for the US 8. Wow - firstly they are NOT the same as the Hunters from years ago. I had them side by side and my old ones, made in Britain, are way more fitted around the ankle and foot and although are Huntress they are not as wide as they are today. The new Navy ones are so different, they do run really large in the foot and ankle area making it not so comfortable to walk in and of course they are Imported -(That goes against the grain). If I didn't know different I might have kept them but I was very disappointed. They fit more like a cheap wellie and the reason I had Hunters is because they were different from the regular cheap wellie in England...but no longer. I might possible try the size 7, in case it makes a difference - not sure yet. BTW the original tall, I also ordered in 8, I would have kept those but they were just too tight for comfort around the calf :(

So disappointed! I have no idea how people say these are true to size. I am always a size 8 and ordered the Talls in a size 8. I tried them on and attempted to walk around with thick socks AND the Hunter boot socks and my foot was coming out. I could literally shake the boot off. The ankle area is huge and floppy, unlike other rain boots I had in college (Chooka). There is also a lot of arch support built in-- which works well if you have high arches. Seemed slightly uncomfortable to me (I'm used to walking around the city in my Uggs). I wanted a high quality boot that wouldn't split with all the walking I do, but the fit is horrible on these. :(

After reading most of the reviews apparently I am the only one with this problem. I wear an 8, 8 1/2 and the site says to order a size down so I ordered the 8 in olive. I was so excited until I tried them on. I couldn't get them over my calves...I'm 5'8 and 140 and I would consider myself in shape. I take spin class three times a week and go the gym almost every weekday so my calves are a little bigger than average but not huge by any means. So I can't tell you how they fit. All I know is I can't even get then on! I like the Olive green color that's why I ordered this specific boot because I don't see any other Hunter boots in this color. My plan is to return them because if I get 9 I think it will still be snug on my calf and too big in the foot area. Sad day people.

I actually ordered the navy, green and shiny black. The navy and green are great. But the black pair seemed to be damaged/imperfect down the front and although I ordered the same size in all of them the black pair seem to be at least a size bigger than I ordered. I think I got a lemon with the black pair. I haven't returned the black pair yet, but would like to. They're too big.

Not for the petite. Too high, making uncomfortable. Went with Kamik. Lighter and a lot cheaper. Not paying for the label.
I'd also recommend:

This color is not nearly as bright in person as stock photo. More of a hunter green/blue color (would have preferred more pop). Bit snug in the calf as well.

Thought these were keepers, but once pants and socks were involved they were just too tight around my calves. They are also very stiff, so there is zero room to give. I swapped to the Back Adjustable Hunter Boots, and they are much better. I like being able to easily adjust the calve width whenever needed.

These are not true Wellies. They are a fashion version and hence there is no room to tuck in your pant legs hence they are not good walk the dog in field shoes before you skedaddle off to work in mornings Wellies.

I'm short! I shouldn't have purchased these. They are too tall to drive in, though maybe one shouldn't be driving in rain boots to begin with? Otherwise, they are as expected (though I paid half price and probably wouldn't buy Hunter boots at full price even if the height of them weren't an issue).

Everything was great until the rubber started to peel and then they looked horrible! Hunter used to be a name that meant quality and longevity and now I question buying another pair.

Ordered these boots in 2016 for gorilla trekking in Uganda. They worked well on the steep, slippery slopes. I then wore them at home for wet garden work and for trudging through snow. Even when it was well below freezing, I was ok with unlined boots and just normal socks. Three years later, I was walking through a puddle and noticed my socks were wet. The rubber was cracking. I bought some sealant and it's been downhill ever since. I wear these boots maybe 10 times/year. They're stored in a closet away from direct sun. They are cheaply made and riddled with cracks. Hunter brand boots are now made in China and not worth the price.
