I bought this backpack specifically for short duration travel and I love it! There are 3 pocket areas total and each one is quite spacious, especially the largest one in the back. The side pocket for a water bottle is also quite wide, although a little on the short side. I have a 12oz water bottle and it fits fine but I would think that a taller bottle may have some issues and fall out. Overall a great backpack and I am very satisfied with my purchase :)

My son wanted the space pattern backpack even though it has lots of pink and purple. I was nervous that he would be turned off by the colors once he saw it in person, but he loves it! The pouches provide plenty of space for a first grader and will probably last a few years. We find that the very first pouch is best for the water bottle, as we agree with others that the side pouch is a little big for a water bottle. He also likes that the balance of the water bottle is centered and not on the side of his backpack, since he doesn't usually carry anything too heavy. It's a basic backpack and perfect for a young kid or someone that doesn't need lots of bells and whistles. Awesome price and a brand we trust!

Bought this bag for my daughter who is in middle school i thought it was small but when it arrived i saw how big it is and very comfortable on her back with great support straps

Bought this for my 8 year old daughter. She loves the color. The backpack fits her size. It is also large enough to fit her school laptop, folders and homework books.

So I found out about high Sierra from a trip to Las Vegas years back and was in need of a good bag. I wondered into the store and found my bag of years still going to this day!! I need to replace that still mint condition bag for my 17" Asus ROG strix scar that needs a little more protection and hope my newly purchased high Sierra bag Lives as long as my current back pack. Family is now all in high sierra back packs for school/work!!! Thanks.

I bought several of these for middle schoolers needing a light weight but full sized backpack.

I was a little concerned since the price was so reasonable that it wouldn't be sturdy but so far seems too hold up pretty well. The many pockets are useful and side bottle holder holds up well for large bottle.

I purchased these bags as gifts, I have kept one and used it for a weekend trip. I love the roomy main compartment.I was able to add smaller items in the bag as well.

Had an older version of this backpack that I got 10+ years ago. Old version still worked great but decided to get a new one for everyday use. Wonderful! Perfect size & fits laptop easily. Along with many other layers, etc
