If you haven't worn Birks, you're in for a treat. These are my daily shoes. Depending on the straps they can be casual or even a little dressy. The comfort is unbelievable.

I haven't owned a pair of Birkenstocks in years. I absolutely love the comfort and style of this shoe! Nonstop comments when in wearing them! I'm a size 10 and have wide feet, but had to send the 10 back and get the 11 for the extra space.

Great, casual, supportive shoes. I decided to buy these shoes to wear around the house on a daily basis. I chose these Birkenstocks instead of slippers or flip-flops because my feet need decent arch support. These have been a lifesaver! Excellent support and comfort. Very sturdy. I basically live in these when I'm at home. I ordinarily wear a size 9 in a medium width but in these I purchased a size 39 in a narrow width and they are perfect. Highly recommend.

Runs a little large, but very comfortable. The patent dresses up a sundress for day into night, from running around with my children to meeting friends for drinks!

This is the second pair of these Birkenstocks that I have purchased because I really like them. The patent leather makes them a little more dressy, and they're so comfortable. I wore them all the time during the summer. I received them a couple of days after ordering them. Great service from Zappos!

Cute answer to comfort. Had to return and get the narrow size and do not have narrow feet. Hippie/patent leather? Love it!

These are absolutely the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. I love the patent leather which dresses the shoe up so much. I feel confident wearing it on occasion to school. I am not a traditional Birkenstock girl. This is the only shoe from this company that I would wear. I plan on purchasing the bronze and/or silver one when my size is available. Wish I had found it sooner. Very important point - I normally wear a size 7½. I listened to the other reviewers and ordered a 6-6½. That fit was perfect.

The Madrids are my first pair of Birkenstocks. I have Morton's Neuroma (inflamed nerve) and I am always looking for a wide width. The patent leather adds some style and the comfort is good, so far. I gave the comfort a four because I have yet to find shoes that totally addresses my foot issue.

It is so hard to find cute shoes that are comfortable and have arch support. I saw these and decided to buy them. I read other reviews and bought down a size than I usually wear and they fit great. They are super comfortable and give me the support I need. They look cute with my Capris.

Best sandals ever! Super comfy. I can even do a light hike with them on! Perfect for the summer in my strict "no flip flop" office and my wife feet. Incredible support. Not too soft, not too hard. The reviews were right. They run crazy big. Usually I wear size 39 in Birkenstock clogs, I ordered a 38 and they are still a little large.

These shoes have quickly become my favorite comfort shoes. They are awesome and felt comfortable from the very first day on. However, I had to exchange my first pair, which I ordered in my usual size (US size 6 - European size 37) for a smaller size (European size 36). They run quite large.

I love these, but they're huge!. So glad for Zappo's return policy. In the right size, they're going to be my go-to sandal for the summer.

I use these shoes all summer long and I use them as slippers in the winter. I change into these as soon as I get home from work everyday, no matter what the weather is. They have great arch support and if it's cold outside I just wear them with socks. I love these and own 3 pair!

I bought these in blue, earlier this year. Liked them so much, the black patent became a "need," rather than a "want." Fortunately, Zappos was able to deliver, pronto. What would we do without Zappos?! As many others have said, this style is a bit less clunky than are other Birkies. They look good with Capri pants and casual sundresses. That said, they still provide that wonderful Birkie support & comfort -- which makes these sandals worth every penny.

These shoes are great. They're my second pair of patent leather Birks (I also have the Gizah style) and they wear fantastic. They're easy to slip on and look good with just about everything.

Definitely size down. I wear a size 10, I have thin feet, high arches and a bunion (so difficult!). The 41 was recommended but I went with the 40 narrow and they fit perfectly. The underside of the patent is felt and very soft. I was worried it would be a lot of effort for my feet to keep these shoes on them as they only have one strap, but they feel very secure. I am extremely happy with the shoes!

The Madrid fits wide feet well! This is the first time I've ever worn a one-strap Birkenstock: not as much 'foot-holding' power, but they are much dressier! The footbed feels great.

I'm so glad these are in style again! I cant wait to put them on when I get home from work everyday. So comfortable....

Bought this after a friend recommended this for a comfortable and supportive footwear. At first when I received it, it was so hard and uncomfortable, it took few days and it broke in, I've never sworn to a shoe like this! Great for driving, walking and just strolling to my local shopping! I'm definitely investing in a few more of other styles from this company!

really wanted to love this shoe--super comfy and stylish, but hard to walk in. I wish I'd ordered a half size down to make the strap fit a bit tighter and avoid flopping. Tore up my feet t wear them in--I'd recommend wearing them around the house in socks for a bit first to break down the leather strap a bit.

They are my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and I chose these for the modern style. They are very cute and receive a lot of compliments. We live in Germany and do a lot of walking and they are perfect ! My feet are never sore after a day out .

These sandals are nice and comfy, bought my usual size in birkenstocks. Prefer a diff style, I prefer a flip flop style vs the slide.

I was looking for a sandal that was a little more stylish than sports trek sandals but would still be very supportive for city walking. This is only my second pair of Birkies. The others that I have are the ones with 2 straps across. I have had plantar fasciitis and usually wear custom inserts but that's not really possible with sandals. I thought black patent would make these shoes a little snazzier to wear with dresses as well as shorts. But because they have only one strap they slap about a bit like flip flops, not as sharp looking as I imagined. They fit well and are comfortable and supportive, but really, despite the patent leather, this is just a shoe to wear as you would flip flops with shorts, very casual. If I had not been in a time crunch I probably would have returned them for a different style of Birks. But they were great for lots of walking because of the arch support. I was always leery of Birkenstock because I have narrow feet, AA but they work for me.

I have several pairs of Birks due to fallen arches. I had a pair of these in a smaller size but my feet grew after pregnancy. These are much more comfortable than the other pair, but the top buckle and strap are more narrow than my older pair. That makes them harder to wear. In addition, I have a pretty nasty cut from wearing them in. This isn't the first pair I've worn in, but it has been the worst in terms of cuts and soreness. Hoping in a few weeks they will be better than my old pair and more comfortable.
