While I love the look and fit of this boot, the shearling on the right and left boots is different it appearance and texture. So much so that I considered returning the boots. I realize that shearling is a natural material, but at this price point I would have thought that quality control would have scanned for that before final approval. The shearling is as if it came from two completely different breeds. I have several pairs of a Frye boots and am disappointed that these are not as awesome as the others.

The pair I bought had the right boot standing up kind of stiff b/c of thick fur lining, while the left boot kept sliding down as the lining was very thin and short. I called Zappos and the representative tried 1st to pass me to manufacturer to solve the problem myself. When I said I'd rather return them as I bought them from Zappos and not from manufacturer, the rep eventually had to admit that I can return as long as they were unworn. Then kept menacing that they were going to check them very thoroughly and at the slightest sign of wear they would send them back to me on my account. This warning was the more ridiculous as there are 100F outside. Nobody in right mind would wear such type of footwear on such a weather. So much for Zappos customer service. I will never buy from Zappos again and I'm going to tell my experience with their customer service everywhere and to everyone I know.

I love these boots. I actually have these in both cognac and black, and I am so thrilled I got both (thank god for tax refunds!). I wear the black with the fold-over part up because I think knee-high black leather boots looks so unparalleled to other colors. I like the cognac one to be folded over. I will say that I thought the cognac had more of a white-colored shearling, but mine are probably more grey-tinged (though the grey shearling on the black boots are way darker). Very comfortable, very supple and warm. I also think that the partial zipper by the ankle is ideal for my own aesthetic preferences. I need zippers because of my calf-size but I don't always like the appearance of zippers. I love that the zipper here is short and not the main visual. Wide-calved ladies, these will form with wear, so if you are concerned about the calf circumference, between the shearling, the leather, and the Frye reputation, these will form with wear; both of mine did. I also have wide feet (mostly in the ball of my foot) and I am comfortable in these.

This boot is sooooo beautiful. I bought this boot in the cognac color and I love it. The boot itself is very comfortable. I have received numerous compliments.

Beautiful boots to go with a couple of vintage sweater dresses. They are just under the knee when folded over. The shearling is plush and the antique vintage sheep leather compliments the dark mauve cuff. The shearling is a bit itchy to the bare leg but not enough for me not to wear them to work straight out of the box. I may try boot tight next time though. As well all Fry Shoes, and this is my 4th pair, the quality is well, if you take care of your shoes and don't wear them constantly, you will have them for the rest of your life. The right shoe did slide on without me having the zip the zipper down and the left required me to zip the zipper down so the right is bigger because my right foot is bigger so I should have had to unzip the right not the left boot. And the boot does feel more snug around my left leg, than the right, nevertheless, both boots stayed up, all day, no slouching and they're gorgeous.

I absolutely love these boots. They are incredibly comfortable and warm. They are true to size. I'm 5'4" and when they are rolled up, they cove my knee. I don't were them rolled down because I think they look cuter pulled up.

Nothing negative to say about these boots! Yes they are expensive but SO worth the comfort and warmth!

My favorite Frye boot. AndI own many. The leather is soft and rich , and the shearling lining is so soft and thick. Socks are not needed. They too no time to break in and fit perfectly.. I love love love them.

Most amazing Frye boots, my 1st pair! They were an investment but so worth it (especially if you get them on sale!) Fit true to size for me! Warm, fashionable & seemingly very durable boots should last a very long time.... Very happy with this purchase.

Gorgeous & comfortable from the get go! No breaking in needed for these boots! As much as I don't want to be cold, I kinda can't wait for winter so I can see just how warm & cozy these boots are! Took me over a year to decide on the investment, and finally they were on sale.

LOVE THESE BOOTS!!! I bought them in black after contemplating the purchase for months. They are extremely comfortable and well-made. Good traction for walking in the snow. I'm 5'9, with long legs, and the shaft is perfect for my height. I do not find them heavy when wearing. Yeah, they are an investment but I am sure I will be wearing these for years to come.

Loved these boots, really loved everything about them, the soft leather of the shaft, the comfortable fit of the foot, the shearling completely lining the interior of the boot from knee to toe, the Frye workmanship. Unfortunately, these are designed for someone with longer legs than mine. I'm 5'2" and have short, athletic legs and the shaft was much too long on me. Sigh, back they go (love Zappos!), my search continues.

Love these boots! I spent a lot of time reading reviews and consulting style guides to make sure I could pull these off before taking the plunge, so now it's my turn to give back to anyone else out there seeking the same information! I'm 5'4, 130 lbs, with medium calves and a pear-shaped body, and these boots work for me! They fit just like I think they're supposed to, coming just to the top of my kneecap (unfolded). As a mere mortal, I do need to pay attention to make sure that my clothes and shoes don't make me look stumpy or out of proportion--and these boots look good! They actually make my legs look longer. I don't really like the look with the top folded down; on my short-ish frame it looks bulky and unflattering. If I wanted that look I'd probably go for a similar style, Frye's Mara OTK, which is higher in the front and lower in the back and looks sleeker when folded.

I LOVE these boots! I am 5'9" and the boot tops rest just above the top of my kneecap. They are comfortable, warm and fit my narrower calf beautifully. I have NEVER worn such a comfortable boot. While the price was a huge consideration, I decided these boots would be my Christmas gift to me! NO disappointment here!

Gorgeous boot. Very comfortable from the start. Fits on the snug side. Think someone with wide calves would have a hard time with them. Loving mine!

This is an absolutely beautiful, tall, warm boot. I am 5'9" and this boot came up to my knee in the cuff down position. It would have been perfect for the cold Chicago winters; however, it was too difficult to zip up over my calves. The leather is soft and they may stretch a little to eliminate the problem; however, I do not want to take the chance.

A beautiful boot and even though it says Over-the-Knee, I took a chance after reading reviews that said it actually came up to just below their knee, even for petites. But as a petite 5'0" woman, this boot just looked too heavy around my knee with the shearling cuff so I am exchanging it for the shorter length one. The boot, however, is gorgeous. Soft leather and plush shearling.

These are great even for petite! I bought in my normal Frye size. I am petite 5'1", calfs 12", ankle 8". And they fit not baggy at all, of course I will never wear over the knee. That does not look good on me. But they look so stylish folded down with taupe shearling showing. I got black. It is so nice to be able look stylish even when weather is gloomy, cold, icy, wet. These are very comfortable, and even though covered completely in shearling fur on the inside, they do not look bulky. Price was hard to swallow, but they are made with top quality materials and will last for many years.

These boots are incredibly comfortable! I'm more comfortable with them on than walking around barefoot or in my socks. The shearling goes from top all the way down to the toes so they can be worn barefoot or with socks. So snuggy with a boot sock! Great tread too. They are very expensive though! That's the only drawback. Can be worn in a variety of ways, pulled all the way up, cuffed just a tad or rolled down to various lengths to get the look you want. Can also be slouchy. Several looks out of one boot! I am 5'4 1/2 inches tall and these boots, pulled all the way up, come just to the top of my knee. I typically wear a 9 narrow shoe but since narrows are hard to come by, I usually wear 8/12 to a nine regular shoe. The 8 1/2 in this boot fits very comfy! My calves are 12 1/2 inches around and these boots stay up nicely yet have more room for a bigger calf because of the fluffiness of the shearling, it gives. From the bottom of the heel to the top of the leather they are 21 1/2 inches high. The heel is about 1 inch and there is about another 1/4 inch of sole before the leather starts up the leg if that helps.

These boots are stunning! I was initially going to purchase the mid calf Valerie shearling boots because I'm only 5'1 & the OTK description scared me a little. I'm so glad I ordered these instead. I'm 5'1 but have fairly long legs for my height. I ordered a size 5.5 which is my normal Frye boot size. They fit me perfectly! If I get another color, I might get a 6 because I think a larger size would fit easier over my jeans. Uncuffed, they come to the very top of my knee so I'm not sure I would consider them OTK on most people. However, I love them cuffed. I can cuff them where they come right below my knee or cuff them further down to come a couple inches below my knee. The leather is so soft that I can scrunch them down (cuffed or non cuffed) to get a different look. My calves are around 12.5" & these fit perfectly. I think these will mold to just about anyone's legs because the leather is so soft that it will stretch to form to each person's legs perfectly. The lug sole provides amazing stability & traction. Mine were comfortable straight out of the box except that the zippers rubbed against my ankle at first. However, after a couple days of wearing them, that area stretched enough to where it's not an issue anymore & now they feel like my favorite cozy house slippers! I had a problem with the first pair Zappos sent me because the shearling didn't look or feel the same on the boots. The color was the same but the shearling on one was plush & soft while the other boot's shearling felt thinner & stiff. The shearling really seemed to come from 2 different types of animal. I contacted Zappos & they sent me a new pair the next day. Between the 2 pair, I found 2 matching, plush shearling boots. Zappos customer service is fantastic! I know another reviewer mentioned her boots having the same issue. Don't let that scare you though. If you have that problem, Zappos will take care of it ASAP, I'm sure. I purchased the black & they have a gorgeous warm grey shearling. I purchased 5 pair of Frye boots this season & these are by far my favorite! I've been wearing them with black leggings (regular & faux leather leggings) & a cashmere turtleneck tunic & just add various scarves for a little pop of color or contrast. I've received compliments every time I wear them. The only boots I own that actually fit well around my legs while bare or wearing leggings without leaving any gap at all. With the zipper, it's easy to pull your leggings or jeans down after pulling on the boots. Unlike other shearling boot brands, these are completely lined with plush, soft, quality shearling. Even the top of the foot area is lined. They just feel amazing on my feet. I can't say enough about these boots. They are fabulous! Pricy? Yes. Worth that price? Absolutely! For reference: my size 5.5 Valerie's have an uncuffed shaft height of around 19" & cuffed shaft height of between 15-16.5" depending on how far I fold the cuff. My size 6 Frye Paige boots have a 16" shaft. So these are around the same height. However, since the Valerie's height is adjustable with the cuff, the Valerie will fit a variety of leg lengths. If you are short & want a tall boot that doesn't leave a huge gap around your leg, look no further!

I am 5'3" and I am more leg than torso. I have skinny ankles. These are more comfortable than my Jeffrey Campbell over the knee fur boots because the seam in the back is lower and the material is more giving. They are perfect with a dress in the snow because they are so warm and the lug sole.

Perfect cold weather boots! These boots are beautifully made! The sheepskin lining is warm and can be warn without socks. The over the knee part does slide down a bit as you walk, they are a slouchy boot, but they sure do keep you warm!

Sadly, have to return these. Beautiful, well-made boots. I was really hoping they would be tall enough to be "over the knee" on me, but they are not. When folded up, they only reach mid-knee on me, which looked awkward. So sad, I really wanted these to work and was willing to pay Frye premium price for the quality. For reference, I am 5'9" and my inseam is 33". So, if you're my size and you're wanting an over the knee boot, these will not work for you.

Most incredible boots ever! I am in boot love...the best looking boots I've ever owned, they are also of very high quality and extremely comfortable. I can't stress enough the artisan quality of these boots. I would totally recommend buying them. Yes, they may seem pricey, but you will have these for the next 20 years. The shearling is lush and doesn't interfere with the sizing.
