These shoes are very soft and warm. They're a little stiff but I assume that will change. They run large--I had to order a size down, plus I have *very* wide feet and although I ordered wide I'm sure I would have been fine with the regular (or narrow or whatever they're called).

OMG. Talk about comfortable! It's amazing what a difference the shearling makes in these shoes. It's like standard Birk comfort on steroids. Fell in love from the first second I put these on. Defiantly worth the extra money from the Boston without the shearling. It's my opinion that Birks aren't big on style, hence the 4 stars, but they are awesome with comfort and convenience.

If only they made these in soft foot beds then the comfort level would be perfect. Great for house slippers. I found they did run a tad bit short so will be getting the next size up. Love Zappos free one day shipping and free return. It's frustrating enough to buy shoes online especially since sizes ranges from shoe to shoe but you can't say no when they have an awesome shipping and return policy.

The heel bed was very narrow and the arch support hit in front of my arch.

The soles are very hard underneath your feet and they squeak fiercely on hard floors but are quiet on carpet. A softer footbed would be more comfortable and perhaps, quieter. They will hear you coming with these on.

I’ve had a couple of pairs of these before and this time the shearling wasn’t nearly as thick or fluffy. In the past, I’ve had to order up a size because the shearling was so thick that it made the shoe narrower. This time the shearling was so thin that the shoes were much too big and I had to send them back. Quite disappointing.

Unfortunately a lot of Birkenstocks aren’t really made for people with a Morton’s toe (second toe longer than first), and these were the worst of them all. My second toe is only slightly longer, and I’ve been able to make other Birkenstocks work, but these were noticeably uncomfortable. I even bought a second pair a size up and my toe was still pressing against the front of the shoe, which was very hard and stiff. Despite being so cute and the exact style I’m looking for, at $180, I couldn’t justify keeping them and being uncomfortable.

Love the style and feel of the Boston Shearling, but I'm returning because the pair I received had a quality control issue: There's a sharp extraneous piece of cork from the molded footbed protruding inside the shearling. This is the second time this year I've had a quality control issue involving the cork footbed with a pair of Birks I ordered. A great shoe otherwise if no defects.

Would not stay on my feet as I walked right out of them. Returned.

It was much shorter than expected. We need a size up. It was also too narrow. How do we return?

Too much arch support.

The regular width was too wide and the narrow was too narrow. Unfortunately I had to return.

Looks like they were previously worn

Runs a little smaller than typical Birks, but might be due to the shearling inside. These were harder to break in and my feet never quite fit inside them fully. I would go a half size up except the arch would hit an odd spot on my foot. I can’t walk too far in them either. These shoes are relegated to the back yard or very short errands in the fall when I don’t want to put on boots.

I've purchased these before (last year) in a different color. Same style, same size. But this time, the fit was different - my heel came just to the edge - and the workmanship was very different; the "fur" was shorter, thinner and not evenly dispersed inside the show. They appear cheaply made.

I have an older pair of shearling lined Bostons and they are so much better than this version. These aren’t the same quality. The others were comfortable from day 1. These have a piece that rubs my arch and creates blisters. There doesn’t seem to be as much shearling or it is a different quality - not sure what changed but something did. The only problem with my older version is that they did lose some of the shearling, but they are still comfy. I haven’t been able to make these comfortable.

I read the reviews and ordered a larger size. They were still too constricting. I don't even think that 2 sizes up would work for me. I'm returning them and will not re-order this style of Birkenstocks.

The suede seems like the show has been worn and the shearling is already peeling off. It took me 3 orders to figure out what size I was.

The raised toe area was right under the tips of my toes, digging in to them.

I got these after realizing my regular Bostons were too small and aggravated a bunionette. These were better but not perfect - they are, like all Birks, really firm, even with the shearling. I'm switching to Dansko Lucies this year.

Everything was fine, but the size was at least one full size (maybe more) too small. This was true for another person for whom I bought these as a present. Not the usual Birkenstock fit.
