After a long hot and dry summer, I am now ready for the change of seasons. Out of the box and never left the foot since - truly magnificent shoes that will keep my feet well supported and warm (but not sweaty) during winter.

I'm on my third pair of Abends in the past 10 years. The removable footbed works great for me to use my custom orthotics. Like others have mentioned, the big toe area wore out with the first pair. I covered it with a design cut from felt (15 cents for one sheet), and they lasted a long time, considering I wear them all day nearly every day. For the last pair, I inserted half of an adhesive patch as a preventive measure and have had no problem. When I washed the slippers I had to replace the patch, but I've only had to wash them once when I spilled food on them. I have narrow feet and these work well with socks. I wear size 10 women's shoe and 41 fits perfect. I've tried other brands and Giesswein is the only one for me.

Nice slippers. However if you have a narrow foot, they probably won't work for you. That's why I sent them back. They have decent arch support, but not as much as the Vent style, which IMO is better for narrow feet because you can add insoles to it.

This is a great slipper, very comfortable and lightweight. I have to wear socks with them as the footbed itself isn't cushioned and my foot slips w/o socks but that's not a problem for me. The rubberized sole is flexible so there's no "clomping" on my hardwood floors yet I can go outside for the paper without getting wet feet. I've only had these slippers for a couple of weeks and they were very pricey but hopefully they will last for a long time and be worth the investment.

I really wanted to love these, but they were so wide that they didn't stay on my foot! I usually order wide when available, even! I do like the style and the charcoal color. I only wish they came in a truer medium width.

Comfortable. However, for the price the review saying toes came through top in short period resulted in my return. Zappos does not take returns on worn shoes and I was not willing to risk it.

These are probably the best slippers I've ever owned. They have very good arch support. I have to wear them with socks to make them fit, but that will probably make them last longer.

I love these, but as many have indicated, they are roomy and don't want to stay on my feet. A smaller size would not help, but an extra insert would. Too bad zappos does not provide inserts separately. Geisswiein site does have them, but they are sold out in popular sizes. Not worth the bother, Also the wool footbed is very comfortable but my foot slips over it as I walk, making it even more unstable as far as the slipper staying put.

These slippers have great arch support, very comfy, but they stretched out after 2 or 3 days. I have an extra wide foot and they are loose on me. I find the arch support great which is why I bought them however, my foot slides from left to right which kind of defeats the purpose of having overall support. If I had saved the original box (which I usually do), I would send them back.

Was hoping to find a nice slipper that is less expensive than my aged Haflingers, but these have no support. Foot slides around in them. Insane to pay this price for some flimsy felt. Sigh, will suck it up and order Haflingers again.

Arch support was good as advertised but somehow the rest of shoe was not quite stable enough so walking comfort was not there. The wool was nice and soft. Have had Haflinger brand which is similar but they somehow have made the overall stability better so more comfort in walking.

Beautiful slippers with moderate arch support, but they don't last very well. the rubber 'strips' on the sole started coming off within a few weeks, and the in-sole wore through to the rubber within months. Such a pity. They were comfortable and looked nice, but just didn't last. :(

So Disappointed! This is my second pair of this exact slipper. Because I love them so much! But after two months of wear they are falling apart. The heel area is frayed and there are small holes above my big toes on both slippers. I'm not hard on may things, so this is a shock to me. My last pair lasted over a year, which made me think twice before buying another, but they are just so comfortable. Boo!

I wanted to like these, but they are ridiculously big and floppy. It is very thin boiled wool, so there's no structure - it's almost like wearing a heavy sock. Aside from the fact that they were too wide, I wanted more substance to my slipper.

Love the comfort of the shoe, but they begin to wear out in about two months and by the 6th month there is a tear across both big toes and the edges are raveling. My toenails are not long and there is nothing about my toes that is abnormal. I can not recommend these shoes. They do not last.
