The Asics Gel Kayano is a shoe I have worn for 4 years. A former runner, I use for walking & leisure. So comfy & everyone compliments me on the Purple.

I wasn't sure about ordering these as I'm not a runner, but due to bad knees I needed something that would offer great support. When they came I wore them around the house off and on until I finally snipped off the tags and took off in them. I love them! I'm seriously considering ordering another pair to use strictly in the house. Worth every penny!

I mostly fitness walk, run just a little. I like a shoe with a lot of cushioning and moderate support. I had the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 15 last and loved that shoe. After reading reviews of the Gel-Nimbus 16, I decided to switch to Gel-Kayano. These were comfortable immediately with no break-in period. Good cushion, especially in the ball of the foot. I just got them a couple weeks ago, so can't address how well they hold up. So far, happy with my purchase. I just wish they weren't so expensive.

I was a big fan of the "20" and hoped that the "21" would be a seamless transition. So far it is. I have only run a few 6+ milers in them -- no issues. If my experience stays positive I'm definitely getting another pair and putting them away for my fall marathon. One note: This is not an exceptionally wide shoe Wide shoe for a C/D width.

Almost didn't buy this shoe because when I put my hand in to push around on the insole, it felt a little more firm than what I wanted. However, having learned the hard way that running in a thick, over-cushioned shoe like the Nimbus 15, and the Noosa fast with too little support, I decided this Kayano 21 may be the best choice for something in between. Wow! Pleasantly surprised after wearing right out of the box for a 12-hour shift at the hospital, that they were springy and cushiony all day. I can also feel the ground just enough for running safely without pain (peripheral neuropathies) and without tripping on a too-thick sole. Also happy that my foot doesn't slosh around in the heel or anywhere else, like some of the Asics. I have standard, Medium width feet, medium arch, am a mild pronator, and am of normal weight, wearing 8.5 medium. and this size is closer to a true 8.5 rather than a 9 for me. This one is a keeper!

Great shoes, though they run narrow. I had read someone else's review about this so I ordered B width rather than the narrow I usually wear: the fit is perfect!

Thank you Zappo-ians! Great shoe...but service getting order finally here after gremlins in the system was AWESOME! You folks rock the world of shoe shopping, shipping, and service!

This is my second pair of Gel-Kayano. I have bony feet so I need comfort but I also need support for my my high arch and this shoe hit the target!

These are my favorite running shoes by far. I have a narrow foot and the narrows fit perfect! They have the exact amount of cushioning, I ran 4 miles with no problems the first time I wore them.

Excellent shoe for my foot. I tried the Nimbus in regular and wide, but they were very narrow in the toebox. The Kayano fits like a glove an has great cushioning thus far. Definitely order a size up.

I've been wearing the Asics Kayano for several years, and I love this edition as much as ever. It's a premium performance shoe. I use it for walking and find it never hurts my feet.

These are great comfortable shoes. I have wide feet and they are a bit snug, but manageable. I have gone on a few runs and am in the process of breaking them in - I think it all depends on your feet. Objectively, they look cool and have a lot of both cushiness and support.

This running shoe fits exactly like every other pair of Asics I've worn; wide in the toe box, narrow in the heel. They fit me perfectly. Very comfortable right out of the box. I would rather they came with white laces, other than that, perfect.

I ordered the Kayano 20 and 21. The 21 runs small for me. The 20 I'm keeping. I've worn out my Kayano 19. Needed a new pair.

Although I did not purchase these from Zappos, I would like to offer my review. I bought these for walking plus a little jogging. At first I did not think they would work out as they felt stiff and kind of heavy and my feet were sore after I first wore them. I bought them a 1/2 size larger than my other jogging shoes so my big toes would have enough piggy room. I have small heels and a low instep. After wearing them around to do errands they became to feel more comfortable. After about a month I find them very comfortable plus the arch support is so good I do not need to wear my orthotics with them. Not crazy about the steep price but now I think they are worth it!

The most comfortable shoe I have found! I wear a 11.5 Narrow and find it hard to find shoes that fit well. These are wonderful.

Comfortable and light. Just enough bright green to stand out, but not enough to blind you. I'm glad Asics started making women's size 12.5. The 13's were too big, 12's just a tad small. My forefoot very wide, and my heel and ankle are very narrow. Men's shoes usually slide all over the place through the heel. This shoe doesn't.

These fit really well and seem true to size. Also purple is my favorite color and choices for 6.5 wide is very limited, so it is unusual for me to find a color I actually like, not just one I can live with. I would have given 5 stars if they didn't slip off my left heel a little.

Coming from an earlier model Kayano I was hoping for the same Kayano feel. The difference was the forefoot area felt more cushioned, but not evenly left to right. To me, it felt more cushioned in the middle of the shoe, rather than evenly across the forefoot area. Perhaps a misperception, but I didn't like them as well as my earlier Kayanos and sent them back. It might not bother someone else. Zappo's customer service was excellent, that's why I keep coming back!

I have ordered from Zappos on many occasions. The items are always shipped promptly and the service is great. It beats having to go to the mall to find out they don't have your size. The prices on occasion are less than the retail store price.

I had the older model of these sneakers and they wore well for 3 years just because I could not afford a new pair sooner. I am not an avid runner, but run about 6-7 miles on a treadmill a week, and I wear them sometimes as daily wear when shopping, etc. These beach glass colored sneakers are very pretty, cushiony, have good air flow, and they are comfortable. They are not heavy, they have a decent arch, but if you run many miles a week outside they probably do not have enough support. Overall, good purchase, had to get them because my old ones finally developed a hole behind the heel.

I loved the gel Kayano 19's, and I'm not certain that these 21'1 are up to par with those, but I haven't worn them enough to make that call, yet.

Bought these for my nurse daughter and she LOVES them! She says they run a little narrower than the Kayano 19 or 20 though. Once they stretched from wear they are OK!

I like these shoes! I did send back the first pair and opted for a half size larger than I usually buy. However, the second pair fits very well. They are brand new, but I just ran 4.5 miles in them and they felt great.

I've always worn these shoes. They help with my shin splints. They are a bit overpriced. If you can get last year's, do it.
