Never write these things, but I wanted to note these shoes are awesome! This has been the first time I've had to exchange something for size through Zappos. They were just too big. I usually wear a 9 1/2-10, but I couldn't make this 10 work. They're really roomy/wide in the toe box, and a lot longer than a 10 in say Nike, which is the only other running shoe I own. It was just too much room for running. My 9 1/2 is on way, and hopefully that'll be small enough. Zappos was rad about doing an even exchange for me over the phone so I didn't have to wait 3 days to get refunded the first pair and have to buy another size that fit (that was the only option using the app). Get these shoes, just a half size-whole size smaller than you normally would.

I do not know what has happened to Ryka but it is disappointing. They used to have a tool on their site to help customers choose shoes based on the type of feet that they have and they did away with it. Now they do not even say whether shoes are for neutral, under or over-pronators. The KM6 and KM7 (discontinued) were perfect for an over-pronator like me, had a roomy toe box and snug, comfortable heel with no slippage. The Ultimate are ill-fitting shoes, uncomfortable, tight in the toe box and stiff. I am done trying with Ryka.

I did want to love these shoes. I have had heel pain and these shoes had great heel support. Very cushy and my heels felt much better as soon as I put them on. Also, okay width, my toes did not feel crunched, as I've found in other Ryka's wide width. However, the much needed heel cushioning pushed my feet forward in the shoe. I have longer big toes, and thought after wearing these all day they might hurt my toes. Also, knowing Ryka, I did order a 1/2 size up (they run a 1/2 size shorter), even then almost not enough room. Thought I would keep them anyway, since I had read other reviews on another web site that they felt small at first but your feet will adjust to the foam foot bed, keeping them stable. Just could not get over that the right shoe was more narrow than the the left (obvious just looking at them), not even matching shoes. Had to return.

These are great shoes! My son's friend suggested these shoes when she heard that I was going to attempt to run again after almost 20 years. I had never heard of Ryka before. I was thrilled to do my first walk-run in these shoes today. They are attractive, super comfortable in a wide size for my wide feet, great arch support for my high arches. They felt stable jogging over a variety of terrain. I am very happy with this purchase!

Another fantastic work out shoe from Ryka! The cushioning and support are excellent, and like a good gym shoe, these breathe. I also appreciate the more subtle styling and colors of the Ultimate. I walk a lot in mine and haven't had a re-occurrence of shin splints yet.

I really like this running shoe -- the styling, cushioning, and feel are all excellent. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 for office or casual shoes, but always get a half-size larger for running shoes to make sure there's enough space in the toe box. This can be tricky, as my heels are a bit narrow, but these shoes fit perfectly, with just the right amount of snugness all around. The cushioning from the insole is also very good. In all honesty, I usually pull out the insoles of new running shoes and replace them immediately, but the cushioning in this particular insole, especially for the heel, is very good. (I'll replace the insoles at some point, but not just yet.) In fact, I liked these so much that I bought a second pair to stow away in my closet as a replacement when my current pair gets worn. Thanks, Ryka!

Love my Rykas! The previous reviews were accurate and helpful. They described the toe box as being roomy which was exactly what I wanted. They're so comfortable and allow my toes to move which I don't find in other brands. So happy with these sneakers!!

The fit and size are good. Feel true to size. Arch support is pretty good. I have plantar fasciitis. These seem to have adequate arch support in spite of that. However I bought these shoes in June 2019 and within 8 months or less, there were holes in the top of toebox. I wear socks with these shoes always. I never had shoes wear through the top and especially in less than a year. I'm not a runner and wear these for evening walks and shopping and errands. For this reason I cannot recommend these shoes.

I have worn Ryka shoes for years because it's difficult to find a pair of comfortable shoes for my finicky feet! As usual, I ordered a half size larger than my usual size, and this pair was comfortable from the moment that I put them on. They were cushy and really hugged my feet. I keep telling my husband how comfy they are, and wish that they made shoes for men so that he could have a pair! Unfortunately, though, as with most things, I feel that the quality of this shoe brand has diminished, and after having them for a bit longer than a month, and only wearing them minimally, there is a hole worn through the underlayer, near the big toe, on each shoe. A pair of shoes that is worn only occasionally, should be more durable than this. It saddens me to have to return them. Unfortunately, I will need to look for another brand of athletic shoes that really fit my "hard to fit" feet. As with all of my purchases, when I find a product that I like, I stick with it, and want to purchase it again, which is NO longer the case with Ryka shoes.

I get 35-45k steps in every day, on hardwood floor. I switch back and forth daily between 2 pairs of these (so one is always airing out). These have plenty of room in toe box for my rapidly developing bunion but are not at all sloppy. Can easily wear any thickness of socks by adjusting laces. I am always a size 7 (boots, sandals, clogs, whatever) and 7 is just right in these as well. No break in period necessary. No blisters, hot spots, body or foot aches. I’m 59 and only started doing this many steps 2 years ago. Have worn Nike Air, Easy Spirit, Adidas, Dansko. Ryka is the best, no doubt.

Great fit - used the online fit tool. The shoe had padding around the ankle area which helped hold my ankle in place. This was fantastic for me.

Even though Ryka does not tend to have some of the cool looks other sporty brands may have - I can always count on them being comfortable! I don’t have much of an arch and have a tendency of having painful feet after long walks or running. My knees will even hurt sometimes. But I can definitely say that when I do wear my Ryka shoes, the pain I usually feel with other brands is not there. Definitely will not be wasting money or time on other brands anymore.

These shoes look great and are incredibly comfortable for running. I put about 75 miles on a week running and these are not only comfortable, they do not irritate my bunion. I highly recommend them.

I LOVE Ryka Ultimate. my left foot felt like it was walking on clouds. This time though my right foot hit the front of the shoe. I checked for same size, it was. these shoes I hated returning. I loved the fit and feel and look. Perfect. Except the right foot didn't fit so well. i have other Ryka's and love them with no issues. Style design ? Dunno. Sad . Ill be shopping for Ryka's again.

I definitely have to have a wide running shoe and these fit perfectly right out of the box, FINALLY! They are not gel and don't know how long it will take to break down insides, but the price and fit are well worth it! Extremely comfortable

Love Ryka’s and this shoe is my favorite. I have slightly narrow feet and need the arch support so a regular medium width is perfect. I also have a small bunion on one foot and these shoes don’t rub or feel uncomfortable at all.

I am keeping these. After reading reviews, I tried 4 different Ryka sneakers. Some were too small, others were uncomfortable. I have tried these on 4 times now and decided they are keepers. I tried them on in the morning and at night and they fit well and were comfortable. I am putting them into my walking shoe rotation this week. Sorry, I didn't take any photos.

Comfortable shoe - was able to go on my normal 3 mile walk first wearing. The only thing was a funky kind of plastic smell coming from the inner sole for the first 3 days or so. It's gone now. Would buy again.

Love these Ryka's. I work in a Dr.'s office so i trot around all day on a concrete slab floor. These do an admiral job of eliminating foot fatigue. Also great for working out!

This is my first pair of Ryka. They are really comfortable and fit my 10W foot well. Plenty of room in the toe box. Sadly, not very pretty, even if they do have pink detail.

I've had several pairs of this style, and they all have the annoying characteristic of "squeaking" and feeling like a suction cup on hard surfaces. I had gotten used to the others, but this pair were especially noisy. Also, the laces were too short to use the higher last hole to lace them, leaving only a very short length to tie a bow.

Nice shoe overall but definitely runs a half size short. The right shoe felt odd in the heel when I walked. I believe it's the open area of the sole. I'll try a larger shoe and see how that feels. I've worn other styles of Rykas and have had good luck with them. I'm one of those people with a list of foot ailments and don't like athletic shoes. The search is on.

I love the look of these shoes, but they are much harder in the sole than what I am used to, perhaps because of the "mid-sole shank" that they mention in the description. I am used to buying a size up to compensate for my wide feet, but in a wide with I probably should have only gone up a half size, if at all. I would like a shoe with more flexibility and cushioning, but if you prefer stability then this might work for you.

I had to send them back as they were too short. I have other Rykas and they fit like a glove but not this style.
