Absolutely love this shoe. Comfortable, supportive, and great for fall/winter in the Northeast. Soles are comfortable and very "grippy," regardless of weather. Went through two pairs of Columbia hiking shoes over the years, but am happy I made the switch.

Being a cheapskate, I wasn't a fan of the price tag, but I can honestly say I was shocked by how comfy these shoes are straight out of the box. Bought them to take to Alaska for hikes in potentially wet weather. Never was able to test the waterproofness, but hiking in them was perfect. My wife bought a different pair of Merrells and also was amazed. Guess what shoe brand just made 2 new believers.

Good quality, but the waterproofing traps all heat and moisture inside. Definitely not recommended for warm climates.

Great looking style wise, and extremely comfortable, they are either a bit narrow in the toe or short in length- not uncomfortably tight but close. Outstanding support and great casual look and feel

Like the shoe, it's definitely waterproof. However, there's not a lot of ventilation so my feet tend to sweat in these. I'm a carrier so comfort is important, these have definitely held up in all conditions. They do run big, so look to go half size smaller.

I don't think you can review a shoe until you have worn it for a considerable amount of time, so shoe reviews are limited. But this shoe fits good and it looks good. Ask me about it next year, and I'll tell you if it wears well, is really waterproof, and is comfortable, which, after all, are the more important matters.

The shoes are a little too warm for warm weather wear. May be due to the fact they are waterproof. Would be better suited for winter hiking.

I bought this shoe because I was looking for a very good trekker to take me through a six-week trip in Portugal and Spain. I already have a pair of Merrell hiking boots, so I knew their quality and was finally persuaded by all the reviews that said they were stylish. I was looking for something that could handle 20+ km per day while still looking good at night. These are not stylish casual shoes and those that say they are should quickly try to improve their fashion sense. They look like low-rise hiking boots plain and simple. I didn t feel comfortable in certain restaurants wearing these. Out of the box and during the break-in period, I absolutely loved wearing these. I was very happy with their construction and quality. They gave me confidence as I started my journey. However, by the third week, I had serious blistering problems. The shoes fit very well. I even added a gel insole under the manufacturer s to provide a more custom fit. My summer wool socks and two-pair approach didn t help. It got so bad that I had to take a two day time-out to get back on my feet. Maybe it was due to the waterproofing limiting the breathability of the shoe. Maybe I shouldn t have followed the learned opinions about wool socks. Maybe it s just my feet. But, I can t write a glowing review without revealing that when I put these shoes to the test, I had severe problems. I still love them and I m sure they ll serve me well for 5-10 km around the city. But, I can t depend on this model for long walks in the future.

Good quality shoe. One pressure point for me is the back-side heel area; it's tight and rubs. I've also tried the mid-height version of this shoe and prefer it for this reason -- it also provides more coverage, water-resistance and support. Worth checking out.

These shoes run small. I returned 10 for 10.5. Should've gone up to 11. The foot is very snug on the sides and on top.

They are very comfortable and look good but as some people have mentioned they are very warm. Even in the winter my feet were extremely warm. When the weather got nice outside I had to stop wearing these because my feet would sweat so much. That is the reason for the 3 stars. If you want something breathable then these are not for you.

Unfortunately it was not a comfortable shoe for me. I'm 69 and realize I need more comfortable shoes to walk around museums in DC. Nice looking rugged shoe but not what I needed.

Beware. Low cut is a very accurate description. The cut below the ankle is cut way too low. Being waterproof is not necessary because you will get wet from the sides. Bad design. Otherwise a nice shoe. I am returning.

These seemed great for my first couple of hikes in Colorado this summer, until I encountered a water-logged trail. Yes, they are waterproof, but being low rise, they easily fill with water and that's when the trouble begins. It is virtually impossible to get these to dry, meaning after one water logging, they are done for. Wet for days, useless for the rest of the trip (left in the sun, pulled out insoles, no help). After 2 days, they smelled like roadkill. They also get super heavy when waterlogged. No good unless you are assured of always dry hiking. They smell so bad now I'm probably just going to throw them away after 2 uses.

The Merrells these are replacing were rugged, lasted years, and were spot on for size. Out of the box, in the house, these Moab Rover WPs seemed to be just as depicted on the web site. Reviewers suggested they were true to size so I assumed the snugness I was experiencing would get sorted out with some wear. I had no reason to believe that a return would be necessary. After a number of short walks (8-10 miles total), the snugness has not relaxed...for me (size 8) they seem a tad narrow and are 1/2 size too short. I tried to stretch them a bit leaving shoe trees in them for a few nights. Nope! They are not wearable for more than half an hour.

I bought these shoes 2 years ago. They are a rugged shoe. Sometimes my feet would get uncomfortably warm in them but that meant they were doing what i purchased them for-keeping my feet warm and dry. 2 years later-out of nowhere, the toe section on both shoes soaked through in a heavy rain and my feet froze. I will try and contact Merrell regarding this situation to see if they will make good on the shoe. 2 years is ridiculous for a shoe to fail.

In my experience, these proved to be less than waterproof. They look and feel pretty good. But I bought them because of the waterproof claim, so I found them disappointing.

I did order these shoes from the merrell website. I received the shoes in a timely manner. The problem was the shoes I received should be considered seconds or even not sellable. The two shoes where different colors and misaligned when glued sloppily to vibram sole. The worst I have seen. I used to love Merrell for the wide sizing availability. Sadly the quality control is is severely lacking. I hope you get a good pair. If you risk a pair order from zappos. If there is an issue they will make it right. Good luck!
