I like the look of these boots, but be warned that they offer zero arch support. My foot just sort of moves around in this boot. However, it's nice for trudging through the mud in Pacific Northwest winters.

Too small. I ordered my normal size and a 6.5 in the joan style. The joan style has more room than this one in a 7. Wish i did a 7.5 but my trip is tomorrow ??

It is true that you need to order a full size up, however, i did not account for the fact that with the bigger length size, comes a bigger ankle size. And it was the ankle size that was way too big.

The first time I ordered these I went up just a half a size because I was afraid these would be too wide if I went up a whole size (as my Sorel winter boots are very wide at my usual size) but these are much more narrow than the average Sorel winter boot. I returned and went up an actual full size. Otherwise I love them!

I was shipped the brown version in a box labeled black, but ultimately wasn't too upset about the mix up because the fit just wasn't right. I was looking for a boot I could slip easily on and off, thinking I could loosen the laces and make this work. I ordered a size up and the fit was still way too snug for this to be a slip-on. Ultimately went with the UGG Sienna (love!)

I’m not sure if there’s some manufacturing variety in the size, judging by all the comments about weird sizing. But I found these to be very true to size. I even ordered a 1/2 up but they were too big. They’ll need a little breaking in, particularly where the top of the boot hits my leg. But other than that, they’re great. I was originally looking at the Sperry saltwater duck wedge, but loved the bootie style of these. They are much less clunky and more low profile.

Bought for wife. Order a size larger than normal as others had said.

Ran extremely small!

These are a nice looking duck boot. I wear a 7.5 and ordered an 8, which felt pretty true to size (slightly big on me). Swapping out the insert help these fit pretty well and they look cute on - for a duckboot, that is. Wish that Sorel had stronger sustainability practices...frustratingly hard to find good looking boots that are also environmentally conscious.

These run quite narrow compared to Sorel's bigger boots, so you have to size up. I normally wear a 6, but got these in 7 — to wear with thin/regular-weight socks. Once you find the right size, the boots are surprisingly comfortable and warm even without insulation. I wore them on a 13-degree day with thin wool socks and felt no chill at all. Traction could be better, though. I was slipping around a bit on slushy city sidewalks. Overall, a cute, practical boot for rain or snow.

I normally wear a 9, but have a wider ball of my foot, these ran small or narrow I should say.

Really cute boots! Definitely order 1 size up. I’m a true 11 so I ordered both an 11 and a 12 to try based on other reviews and the 12’s fit perfectly. I’m sending the 11’s back.

Felt tight in ball of foot. Slightly too short if wearing a sock with any substance. wish boot had a side zipper. Top leather is very stiff but similar to LL Bean version. I like the height and petite look of Sorel but just not right for my foot. Support was awesome which is why I looked at them to begin with.

Normally wear a 7.5 med. The 7 were too snug with a light weight sock so I bought the 8 which were slightly long on me. I think they do run slightly narrow in width because 7 rubbed too. They are very open at top for snow to get in. Better support than LL Bean version. Wish it had a side zipper like sperry version to get in easier.

I'm a pretty dependable size 9 but after reading the reviews I ordered the 9.5 and it was way too tight. I sized up to a 10. It feels slightly roomy but the 9.5 was not an option. I get compliments on them and they are more comfortable than my winter boots. The upper is stiff but slowly loosening up. I would recommend them but definitely go up in size.

These boots are cute and easy for cold and rainy days! Based on other reviews, I ordered a size up and they fit perfectly with enough room for thicker socks.

Nice and lightweight! Only complaint is edge around the top of the boot is uncomfortable against the skin so you need to wear longer socks.

I normally wear a size 7 in most shoes, but in these I had to size up to an 8. When I first put them on, I was worried they were too small. It felt like my toe was right at the end of the boot. However, after walking around the house a bit, the extremely stiff leathers and fabrics they are made of softened up and created the extra space my feet needed. I have worn them on a number of rainy days, and they have held up well. They still look clean and new, and they've kept my feet completely dry.

I love these! But believe when everyone says to size up! I wear an 8.5 and decided to keep a 10 in these. This allows me to wear a wool sock in the winter and add an insole if I choose. There is no way I could do this in even a size 9.5. The look of the elk color is awesome. Just what I wanted. The leather is a bit stiff out of the box, but I don't have a problem with it. I know it will soften over time. I think if you have larger calves/ankles, this might be more of an issue. I have worn clunkier Hunter boots for years, and this is such a nice change. Recommended!

very clean stylish design, unlined and perfect for year-round rain/snow use. I went a half size up as the top of the shoe where the rubber and leather meet pressed uncomfortably and I wanted to be able to wear thick socks. highly recommend.

I wanted short rain boots so I ordered the "Out and About" rain boots first- the shiny ones. I really wanted the blue color, but they were available in a size 9 ( my usual size but the recommendations suggested sizing up a half size). Well I thought I'd take a chance. They did fit ;however, since there is no insulation I knew I'd need to wear thick socks. Also, the stiffness of the shiny waterproof shaft was stiff and I didn't think the boots would be comfortable without boot socks or socks that went up past my ankle. Then I saw the other style of "Out and About" with a leather shaft. No, they probably aren't quite as waterproof, but the leather shaft is more pliable and therefore more comfy. I was able to get a size 9.5 and the fit is great with a thicker sock and they were less expensive.

I really liked the look of these boots and was looking for something slightly warmer than my Hunter rainboots for the small amount of snow we receive in South Carolina. I still like the appearance and struggled with whether to keep these, but ultimately the fit was just strange. I ordered at least one half size larger than my normal shoe size and these were still snug. The fit just above the ankle and into the lower calf was just too tight to have normal range of motion while walking. Also, all the lacing had to be loosened completely for me to apply which was a turn off for my limited wear, and they never looked quite right with my casual wardrobe (i.e. not what I would wear in the snow). Functionally, I think if the fit were right they would be excellent.
