Ah Sorel, you are so very close with this one! I've searched and searched for a lightweight boot with decent arch support, excellent traction that will get me from the car, across a solid-ice parking lot and into a store for a few hours of shopping without 1) breaking my butt in a fall and 2) killing my feet. Needs to be warm enough for minimal outdoor use but not so warm my feet cook while indoors. These are as close as I've found. The arch support isn't great, but I can use an insert. The biggest problem is they're hard to get on and off. The only way I can do it is by wearing a thin nylon sock. I ended up going down 1/2 size. My usual size 10 was too sloppy, especially in the heel, and didn't line up with my arch. I'm calling them true to width, but I have a fairly wide forefoot, so those with narrow feet will likely find them too wide. The advantage to that is maybe those people will be able to wear thicker socks and still get them on. If Sorel would put a zipper in these and narrow the heel a little, they would achieve world domination. Because they're not horrendously expensive, cute as can be and almost everything I'm looking for, I'm keeping them.

I've been looking for a good pair of boots to get around in that in-between period, post-snowstorm but pre-total melt, when the sidewalks aren't totally shoveled, the slush is disgusting and intersections turn into ankle deep puddles of filth. Didn't want a huge over-the-top pair of boots- wanted something practical, yet decently attractive to get me through. I think these are going to do the job! They go well with everything and keep my feet warm and dry.

These boots look a lot cute in pictures than in real life. They looked wide and sort of bulky on my feet plus felt a half size larger. I'm a solid 10 but would need 9.5 in these. I'm also not sure I like the smallish heel.

I bought a pair of these last year and I still absolutely love them. I ordered my usual size (6) and they fit well (although my experience with Sorel sizing is not consistent, often have to order up). I had no problems getting them on. These are my favorite shoes, bar none! They are really comfortable and are perfect everyday shoes for skirts or jeans. They are wide enough for tucked in skinnies but not so big that you cannot get a pair of straight leg pants over the shaft. I wore them a ton last year and they still are looking really good and holding up well. They are a really good in-between boot as far as cooler weather. I live in Alaska so I have other boots for 40 below days but these boots did well below freezing, had pretty decent traction on ice and enough height to keep the snow out (mostly). The little rubber nose is great for when thaw up happens, keeps the shoe drier, and the heel is also ideal for the muddier time of year. I really cannot say enough good things about these - I wore these all day long from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM often and I was comfortable all day. I may need to order another pair soon, as I cannot bare to have them worn out and not have a back up...

Super cute! Fit is accurate. Did quite a bit of hiking in these while I was in Iceland. Don't recommend that! Soles are a tad thin on rocky surfaces. I want to get the black!

I wear these all the time. I wear a 9 & ordered a 9.5, they fit perfectly! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for something easy to slip on yet comfortable to wear all day long.

These boots are adorable in person. I will be sending back in exchange for a half size smaller. I usually wear an 81/2 - 9 but these run a tad bit large. I'm hoping to use these for light snow/rain.

Love this boot and wear it almost everyday in the fall and winter months. The only con I would have to say about this boot is it is a bit snug getting it on...but once it is on it is great!

Received my new Sorel Slimshorties just in time for the first snow of the year in NC and they did not disappoint. They are both stylish and functional. Had to do the plastic bag over my foot trick to get my feet into them but once in, the boots fit perfect on my size 10's.Cushioned foot bed is nice but not much arch support -nothing an insert can't help. Very happy with my first pair of Sorel's

Very adorable, perfect for slipping on and off and when you need to walk through messy roads and parking lots. I feel like they do stretch, so if them seem hard to get on at first, give it a few times. I normally wear a 7.5 and had to exchange it for a 7. I do remember now that I am a 7 in Sorel size. So go with your normal Sorel size.

These boots are exactly what I was looking for to wear on those in between winter days. I live in New England so winter can mean serious snow, but I can also mean 45 and slushy. They are warm and waterproof and sleek enough that they don't look out of place in the city. The footbed has some squish to it so they're comfortable for long term walking. No real arch support, but the squish in the footbed gives more support than you'd expect. They definitely run big though so unless you always wear a thick sock, you could go down half a size. My feet slide a little in tights or thinner socks.

A great boot in that it's very versatile. I can wear it up to the ski mountain or out to eat. It runs slightly big, but room for orthotics for me. Wish it had more arch support. The fact that it's waterproof is great. Overall it's a good every day boot.

I have had a pair of Bogs for over 10 years and, while they are still in great shape, they are lacking in style. I did try they new Bogs Sydney Lace Plaid boot as a replacement as they are rather cute but for some reason the 8 was too big and the 7 was too small, painfully small. I hate big clunky boots and I prefer pull-on boots too. I finally found these and let's just say, I am in love! Before I ordered, I was concerned about the back fabric panel because we get too much snow for that. In the pictures, the black looked all suede to me and I was right. It is indeed suede all around. My first day wearing them was for a local brewfest which had me on my feet for 6 hours straight and it was snowing on top of our already existing blanket of snow, slush and ice. They did a fantastic job AND they look super cute. I will say, I do not like very warm boots and I don't wear thick socks in the winter. They are as warm if not warmer than my Bogs, which is perfect for me but wouldn't be right for everyone. Some folks had trouble slipping them on. I ordered true to my size and didn't have any trouble. If you are contemplating these boots, go for it. Besides, with Zappos, it's risk free. I live in a rural area and going out and shopping for shoes with style is not a reality. Thanks Zappos for making my life easier!

I must need new glasses! These boots appear more rustic dark grey than Black. They are indeed black, but great fit. Just dislike the color.

I recently bought these as kick around boots for our Wisconsin winters. They are perfect for throwing on to brave all of the elements since they are waterproof. I have walked in slush and puddles and they have kept my feet perfectly dry. I get a lot of compliments on them--people like the chevron pattern on the back. Others' reviews mentioned that they are hard to get on since you slip into them. I have thin calves, but I don't struggle to pull them on at all. They look cute with leggings or skinny jeans.

Very comfortable right out of the box! A bit challenging to put on. True to size and this color goes with everything. Wish they would bring back the blue color however.

These shoes felt true to size and are very comfortable to walk in. I don't think they make the foot look wide or bulky at all compared to Ugg-style boots. They aren't a dressy boot but they are plenty stylish to wear out and about. The colors are actually more muted than in the picture, more of a light olive or sand tone but I liked that.

Was concerned they wouldn't be wide enough but they were. Very warm. Haven't worn for any length of time yet because they're for a trip to Wyoming, but they seemed very comfy when I tried them on. Definitely a fall/winter boot,

I bought my normal size, 6, in these shoes, as a co-worker said they were true to size. They are true to size and are comfortable. I really like the style. The initial fit is a bit strange, as where the boot and foot combine is tougher, but great fit otherwise.

These are the most comfortable boots ever! They are also very cute. I get lots of compliments on them. I bought them in the Quarry/Fossil color and they go with almost everything. These boots run true to size - maybe even a little large - while most Sorel boots run small. My other Sorel boots are 8s even though my normal shoe size is a 7.5. The 8 in this boot was huge so I returned it for a 7.5, which fit much better, but is still loose enough for thick socks.

I absolutely love this boot. They are a bit hard to slide on at first, but I just wear a trouser sock and they're good to go. they look great with skinny jeans and boot cut jeans. Super comfortable, they are high quality and wear well in the Seattle weather.

LOVE this boot! Super cool and stylish. BUT I'll be returning them. I ordered down a half size based on other reviews. I should have ordered my own size because they are true to size. Unfortunately Zappos is out of stock on my size. I was lucky to find the same boot (in the black/oxford tan color) today on SALE on Sorel's own site. Saved myself money!

I love these boots, and they past the test this past weekend. I live in North Texas, and we had about 4 inches of snow and ice. I trumped through the snow, ice, slush, and puddles and my feet were warm and cozy in these boots. They do run a little large I wear an 11, but had to move down. To 10.5, but Zappos sent me the correct size, and I got them the NEXT day.

I love my Slimshortie boots. This was a replacement for a pair of Sorel boots I had for 24yrs. The fit is great, I am a 9 and they fit perfectly. Sturdy yet look great with leggings. Light weight soft leather, so I can throw them on when I take the dog out. So happy!
