I got these a few weeks ago, and the color is a pinkish salmon color. Not sure why it is advertised as red leather, because it is definitely not red. Super sad that it isn't a bright cherry red like I was expecting.

I was really excited to receive these as I wore them all the time when I was younger and just loved them. Unfortunately, not these.. they aren't the same fit or comfort. It's just a flat piece of wood without any contour for your feet. Very hard to walk in so afraid to leave house with them. Still love the look, too bad they aren't the same feel.

It's great looking but a little heavy . I wore Dr Scholls as a teenager but I don't remember them this heavy.

I had 3 pairs of these sandals and paid 19.99. These sandals are not worth the price Scholls wants now. They are somewhat comfortable when you get over the pain.

These shoes look great, I love the camel color and they'd be perfect either casual or with summer dresses. Unfortunately, after wearing them around the house for a week, I still can't get used to walking in them without feeling like I have to "shuffle" forward. I'm sorry to return them :(

I miss the toe hump on the original shoes. These are not the same.

Very stiff leather, so has not broken in easily. The bottom is like plastic type "wood" with little contour. I have good memories of these shoes decades ago, but today's version just isn't the same.

Color is coral, not red. Fabric/leather seems cheap, stretchy. Sole is heavy. Indentation/footbed sculpt fairly shallow. Based on reviews, don't trust this to wear in well. Would have given it a shot at half the price, so returning.

I loved the style of this shoe and of course remembered them from the 70's. I never had a pair then but my grandmother (the chic grandmother) always had a pair that she wore day in day out. For me this new version has great style and I find them to be comfortable (I have plantar fasciitis) as a slip-on shoe to wear around the house and garden. I would not wear them for long distance walking and certainly not for driving. My main beef with them is that they are quite loud when walking. No problem on carpeted floors and even on tile and concrete. However, on wood floors (in my house for instance) they are quite loud. Even worse when walking up and down wood stairs. Something to think about if you have wood floors and stairs.
I'd also recommend:
SAS, Birkenstock, Taos

This still do not have as much of a hump at the toe as the old shoes. You could literally rum your toe over it.

The first thing that struck me about these was that the color is a lot lighter than it appears on the website. I was expecting more of a classic fire engine red whereas in reality the shoes are more of a salmon-y red. They tore my feet up on the first wear. I had no qualms about wearing them to walk a mile since I have a pair of Dr. Scholl's from 10 years ago and they're incredibly comfortable (the leather on those old shoes is suede though, so much softer). The leather here is quite hard and it really cut into my feet. I have now resolved to wear them only around the house to - I hope - break them in. Disappointed they're now made in China, not Italy as my pair from 10 years ago was. I can't return them since they only allow returns when shoes are unworn. But I am disappointed that they hurt my feet, and concerned they'll keep doing so.

Cute. But heavier than you?d think and at least a half size big. I?m a perfect 7, and that was too long on my foot and too narrow in the toe so they went back. Would?ve purchased a smaller size but they were REALLY HEAVY so it?s a miss for me.

I'm 57 years old now. When I was in my 20s and 30s I had the wooden Dr. Scholls "exercise" sandles. The foot bed was much more contoured back then with a much more pronounced hump between the ball and the toes. That hump helped your toes to grip the shoe with each step making the shoe both more comfortable and easier to keep in place on the foot during the forward stride. When I ordered these "original" sandles, I was expecting the same foot bed that you had in the 70s. A little disappointed.

Back in the 1970s when my sisters and my friends wore Dr. Scholls, it seems the sole, where you foot sits, had a more curvaceous shape that felt more supportive. Now the sole feels flatter. Also, the strap over the metatarcil of your foot doesn't seem adjustable anymore. It arrived with the middle hole selected and I couldn't move it to see if a slightly looser fit might be more comfortable. And, only the top portion of the strap is a thin veneer of leather; the underportion that touches and rubs against your foot is some sort of fabric. The edge of the strap closest to your toes is very sharp, and I'm concerned it may rub and cause blisters or bleeding upon wearing. I'm still not sure I'll keep the sandals, but I do like the way they LOOK on my feet.

I have worn these wooden sandals for years and years. The price has gone up and up and the design has changed. They used to be considered exercise sandals because the toe area had a hump that made you grip to walk. It was wonderful for your legs and feet. The ones today do not have that. They also are not made to last like the old ones. Although still comfortable it is a shame they changed the design and durability.

Nice blue tweed, shoe is nice but difficult to walk in. Clumpy. Wider & thicker than the classic style. I prefer the classic shoe over this one. Tweed is nice and attractive

Disappointed these were not true original exercise sandals. Originals had raised area under the toes to grip. These have ridge running down center.

I've purchased many of these shoes in the past. However, I recently ordered a new pair in red leather. The color is more of a cranberry or brick red and the buckles don't lock properly. Very disappointed in the quality. I will be returning these

I had a pair years ago and they were great. The fit on these is good but the inside leather cuts into my foot and is actually painful with each step. I loosened the strap and it was still painful. This is sad because they were once my favorites. I had to return them.

I expected a navy shoe and this was actually a slate /old blue. I ordered down since I typically wear a 6 1/2 in sandals but my foot hung off the edge of the 6. Re-ordering.

The strap has been moved up so it goes around the lower part of your toes vs. around the widest part of the foot. This causes your foot to look fat and awkward as the widest part is now sticking out below the strap. Walking in these shoes is more difficult as you cannot grip as easily with your toes due to strap placement. The strap is also noticebly narrower, I had to adjust it to the 2nd loosest position. I have a pair of originals from 2003 and an ancient pair from 1980 so I can compare the changes, I'm not just guessing. The footbed is nothing like the 1980 pair that were made in Austria. I wanted to love these sleek black lacquered originals, but I'm on the fence. I do have a wider foot but I dont wear a wide width. These would look better on a narrow foot. Please put the strap back where it's always been Dr. Scholl's.
