Been running in Glycerin's for 4 years. Started in the 8, then 9, then 10, then 11. I would have told anyone previously that these were the best neutral running and cushioned shoes on the market until I bought the Glycerin 12. The 12 looks great and noticeably lighter, but there is considerably less cushioning and arch support; I've put about 50 miles on them across 5 runs and after every run my body hurts more and more; I give up, it's not me it's the shoe, I've given you plenty of chances! Other reviews I've seen from heavier runners have given good reviews, but at 145 I may just not be heavy enough to get out of this shoe what it offers. Sorry Brooks, not a fan, for me you just pushed this model too far.

I've been dealing with neuroma in one foot and am switching from Nike Free 5.0 to Brooks 12 as the fit (with my orthopedics) is much better. I workout in them, wear them walking and am really enjoying the cushioning and fit. I've had no previous experience with Brooks, so I can' comment, however, I had to decide between Asics Nimbus 16 and the Brooks 12, and felt the heel support and cushioning was better in the Brooks. I'm 6' tall and weigh 200 lbs with high arches.

I had these shoes for less than 2 months. I calculated that I wear the shoes on average of 12-15 hours per week mainly at physical therapy. I am by no means an aggressive runner, I can't run due to disability and I'm about 230lbs, 6foot tall. The tread on the bottom of the shoe began to unglue itself creating a trip hazard and I really thought the comfort of the shoes broke down quickly. Aesthetically these shoes are awesome and I think it's my 3rd pair of Brooks shoes - love them. I told Zappos and they were my best customer service experience in life so far because they overnighted a new pair of the "Beast" by Brooks at no cost to me. They only asked that I return the old pair, and they covered the return shipping, within 14 days. I can't say enough how appreciative I am that they took care of me in the manner they did. They even offered my money back, a different brand, or even the same pair if I wanted. I tell ya, I will never buy shoes anyplace else other than Zappos from now on.

Returned. I've been running in the Glycerin 11 size 13 medium for nearly 400 miles. All was fantastic, loved the shoes, but it was feeling like time for an upgrade. Voila, ordered some Glycerin 12s thinking this would be terrific. Well, the new shoes are definitely lighter, but absolutely have less cushioning and a far smaller heel strike area - roughly 3/4" less wide. I tried running in the Glycerin 12s, thinking it would be okay. It wasn't. Definitely feeling in my heels and arches - just fundamentally a different shoe. Zappos to the rescue! They were willing to exchange for the Glycerin 11, which makes me happy indeed. Beware that the new Glycerin 12 is not a direct replacement or upgrade for the Glycerin 11.

The new Glycerin 12 design has fallen well below my expectations of Brooks. The width of the heel in this shoe is about 3/4" narrower than any previous Glycerin model. This leads to a lack of support and stability on your heel strike. I wear a 2E and this shoe also feels tighter in the forefoot. I have purchased many Glycerins over the years and have always loved the design, fit, and comfort of them but these shoes are just too uncomfortable to wear. I hope they reference the previous model's design when creating the 13.

Not good as the Glycerin 11. I own 5 pair of Glycerin 11 and really like the comfort they have. I'm not sure if Brooks is trying to make more on the Glycerin 12 by narrowing the rear sole of the shoe or what. Take a look at the Glycerin since the 9 series. You will notice the rear sole has been gradually getting more narrow which is causing discomfort and less support under the rear of the shoe and now causing an over pronation to the inside. My foot feels torqued and will not sit properly in these. Just measure and see for yourself. 3/4 inch to me is a lot. Stop trying to save money and build a quality shoe for the price that you charge or you will find loyal Brooks fans looking elsewhere. I just printed a return label for these.

I'm afraid I must agree with the others who report a bad experience with the 12. I have run in Glycerines for years, and loved my 3 pairs of Glycerine 11s. Within days of getting the 12s I had shin splints, and the only change in my training was in running with different shoes. Brooks really messed up with the 12.

I have run in Brooks shoes for years. I was always very satisfied. That is until the latest Glycerin 12. I developed heal pain almost immediately. After discussions with my Podiatrist I switched back to my Glycerin 11 and the pain disappeared. Brooks has really missed the mark with their redesign of the Glycerin.

Im generally not one to write reviews since everyones perspective differs in so many ways however I wanted to submit one for the 12's. I have been wearing Glycerine's going back to the 3's and have been a loyal Brooks customer specifically for that shoe. However it seems that starting with the 11's Brooks sold out for lighter less cushion. If you compare the shoe structures of the 11/12's with prior models, they differ greatly. There is less padding and the high is much thinner. I run 20 miles per week and therefore my use is very high. I have had multiple knee surgeries from college sports and years ago my PT suggested Brooks, thats how I got started with the brand. The above said, outside of the style these shoes are garbage. If you have worn Glycerines prior to the 11's you will notice a drastic differnce. I have swicthed the the Asics Nimbus 15/16, and the padding is very great, however I do not know how long the shoes will last, Brooks did live up to wear and tear well. If you have joint issues, feet issues and need padding, stay away. Hopefully this helps.

I'm 6ft, 240; had problem with runners knee with my Asics, but getting 30 minutes every morning with no trouble in these. Did take about a week to soften up. These are max cushion neutral for guys over 180lbs, less than than supposed to go with Ghost. Not as ugly in person as on the site some how but still no temptation to wear as regular kicks.

I'm a walker and average 5 miles a day. I know, I know, that's not much compared to you runners out there, but at 65 I'm just glad to be out there. I am very hard on shoes and have now found my new favorite shoe, the Glycerin 12. I have two pairs of the Glycerin 12s and alternate days with them. I see other comments about the cushion and support, but for me I always use upgraded inserts to gain the support and arch I need. This is not because of the Glycerin 12s, I do this with all of my shoes, as factory inserts just don't do it for my feet.

I like these sneakers a lot. They fit very will on my feet and provide ample support. The description is spot in as far as accommodating the type of pronation. I am not a runner so I can't speak to that aspect. I did like this model over the lesser priced model. As soon as you put them on to compare, you can tell this is of higher quality. The other ones aren't bad, these are just better. My chiropractor loves these shoes. He actually buys them in bulk. They are the only sneakers he wears. And this is a guy that is extremely fit and focused very much on support and posture.

I just ordered these and have to say, because of my high arches, I needed something with great support and these Brooks are it! Fantastic fit and very light weight too. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is needing that kind of support in running shoes.

Bought these in B width and they feel great -- I'm not a runner -- they provide all day comfort. I ordered a half size larger than my dress shoe size.

I don't run a lot, prefer the elliptical, but am on my feet a good part of the day. I tend to supinate slightly, as evidenced by the callus on the lateral aspect of each foot and wear on the outside of the shoe soles. So after trying different "shoe finders" online, ordering shoes and not receiving exactly what I was looking for, I spoke to both Zappos and Brooks reps who advised a neutral pronation shoe. So here we are with the Glycerin 12. Very nice fit (I am standard size 9, so got a 9.5). Soft plant of the foot. Would have to consciously try to supinate. I also have the Brooks Pureflow 4 (also neutral). Both are great. The Glycerin is more stylish, although I would have preferred all black, and I would wear it to my professional workplace. So finally, the Glycerin 12, the Pureflow 4 and the Ravenna 6 (this one for the elliptical mostly) are the keepers in my athletic shoe collection. All from Zappos.

I am 6'4", 300 lbs so no shoe is going to feel like I'm running on clouds, but for my normal 4.5 mile loop in the cold, this shoe keeps my knees happier than most.

I have a lot of issues with my feet: plantar fasciitis, bunions, ingrown toenails (sorry for TMI), you name it! And this is the first pair of sneakers that are comfy for me, even when walking for miles. Great fit, great cushioning, cute colors. I highly recommend Brooks Glycerin 12!

I have high arches and these shoes are the most comfortable ever. I am 6'1" and weigh 193. My knees and feet no longer feel pain when running. I will keep buying these. High archers..buy these!

I will be blunt. The negative reviews are either Brooks haters or are under the influence of some serious narcotics. These are without a doubt the greatest pair of running shoes I have ever owned. I am a big guy and I have never run in a shoe as comfortable as these. Those who say they lack cushioning are insane. Runners World tested these shoes and it is by far the most cushioned Glycerin ever. Don't believe me, compare the stats of the 11 and it's predecessors to the 12 on the RW site. And the fact they are so lightweight while maintaining their excellent cushioning is amazing.

I'd recommend other Brooks shoes like the Adrenaline or perhaps something more minimal to try something different.

I had over 500 miles on my Glycerin 11's (which I loved) so it was time for a new pair, I opted for the new Glycerin 12's. I've only gone for one 5 mile run with them but they are extremely comfortable and the word "Plush" is the best way to describe them. To be entirely honest aside from the 12's feeling a bit lighter then the 11's I can't tell much of a difference between the two. I got the 11.5 "EE" width I'm 6'2" 175 pounds and I run about 30 miles a week. I am very happy with this purchase, I'll be keeping these.

Nice shoe. Our 14 yr old son has narrow feet like me and a normal narrow usually works well, but these run wide for a "Narrow" width. He really likes them and makes them work. we will buy something else in 6 months when he wears them out.

I switched from the Fhost 6 to this running shoe. The shoe was not as comfortable and the upper mesh began to tear after 3three months of light running. This seems to be a problem with the Brooks running shoes of late.

I have tried the Brooks Glycerin 11 & 12. The 11 is better (perfect)! The 12 is too narrow in the toes. You would probably need a shoe one size larger.

Very nice, comfortable shoes. I've worn Glycerins before and these are an improvement on the last two models. I wear a 2E width and my only complaint is that Brooks only makes one color in that width. So for that, I take off one star. Otherwise, they are great shoes.
