This is a great supportive shoe with lots of cushion for road running. I'm 6'0 180lbs and I ran with the Glycerin 10's prior to this shoe. I think the 10's had more support and a tighter fit. However, the 12's are definitely trimmed down. They aren't as heavy and thus it seems like there is less support. My first week of wearing the Glycerin 12's my left arch would start to hurt at the end of long runs. However, this went away after a week when I started wearing the shoes regularly. These are a great neutral fit running shoe, however it may take a week or more of constantly wearing them to break them in.

Other shoes to try would be the Saucony Kinvara or the Brooks Launch 2.

I bought these shoes for my husband. He loves them and they are his second pair this year. They are very comfortable and he loves the blue color. The first pair wore out on the toe area pretty quickly, though. It did not keep him from buying another pair.

I've been wearing the Ghost 5 for a few years and absolutely loved them for cushion and support. Unfortunately, the Ghost 6 and 7 do not provide as much support for me. Now that the 5's are not available anywhere, I was redirected by my foot doctor to the Glycerin as an excellent replacement, noting that this was the most neutral shoe I could get. I didn't like the look of the narrow heel but they sure feel awesome on my foot. I wish they had more cushioning like the Ghost 5's but I can live with the trade off. Very happy with my Glycerin 12's.

I ordered these for my husband who goes to the gym everyday. He just loved these shoes people were asking where he got them. They are not only stylish but also very comfortable. He had ankle pain before now the pain is gone. There is break in time.

I switched from Asics to the Glycerin 10 a few years ago, also ran in the Glycerin 11. I was extremely happy. They had great support, a cushioned feel in the forefoot. I only had great expectations for the Glycerin 12 but was let down. That cushioned feel is no longer there. While this shoe was the lightest out of any previous version it lacked in feel. It was nowhere near as wide as previous versions too. I ran in them for a few weeks and they did not feel any better. I loved the style but as a runner functionality is more important than looks. Back to Asics I go. Why change something that was so good, Brooks?

I bought a pair of Women s Brooks Glycerin 11 shoes from Zappos after trying a pair my sister had. I have a narrow heel and a need for a wider toe box (I have bunions on my right foot) and the Glycerin 11s are the most comfortable gym shoes I have ever worn. They were so comfortable, that I bought a second pair for the future, because I was afraid they might not be available when I needed a new pair. However, after only 6 months of light wear (no hiking, just city walking and wearing to work the soles are not worn out at all) I have returned the second pair, because my first pair, while still comfortable, have worn through the fabric at all the stress points. I have literally darned the shoes in four places to keep them wearable. This is very disappointing. I would be a loyal life-time customer if Brooks improved/strengthened the fabric they use, but as it is, I will not be buying another pair of Brooks shoes.
