After wearing the Glycerine 10 and 11 over the last 2 years, I was very excited about this highly anticipated new version from Brooks. After waiting for a week or more following release, I bought directly from Brooks as Zappos did not have it. At this writing, Zappos still only has one color option. I got the shoe yesterday and tried it on with great excitement only to be quickly disappointed. I have always loved the neutral styling of the Glycerine as I am a mild supinator. I was so shocked to find that this new version pushed me to the inside of my foot almost forcing pronation. I actually found it very uncomfortable as the repositioning of my foot was dramatic. I even had a friend who wears the same size try them on and she felt the same thing. I also no longer felt like I had the nice wide solid rubber sole extending all around my toe. This shoe used to have such a nice "platform" feel in the toe. So sad that I have to go find another "go-to."

I have had my Glycerin 12s for 2 months now. I jog 4 times a week, and am probably heavier than the average female jogger, but not overweight. I supinate and every time I shop for new running shoes I face the chore of finding a "good neutral shoe" because it's hard to find a shoe targeted to supinators, in my opinion. After doing some research and reading reviews I ordered several different running shoes from Zappos. So started the usual routine of elimination, consideration, and finally making a choice. All my running shoes have always been 1/2 size larger than my usual size. A few could be repacked immediately. I don't know what Mizuno is thinking, but their Wave Rider is not the shoe it used to be. The Brooks PureConnect was just odd. I really like the Brooks Ghost, but it was not as supportive as I prefer. The choice came down to the Glycerins or the Asics Gel Nimbus. This was difficult. The Asics were so cushiony it was like walking on clouds, and they are a really attractive shoe. I love the way they looked. Unfortunately, it seemed as though they were made for someone with short toes. Everything else about them was perfect, but after wearing them around the house and using the treadmill for a few minutes my toes felt smashed and sore. This left me with the Glycerins. They were very comfortable. The forcing your foot to turn inward was a good thing in my case. I felt like it was holding my foot where it was supposed to be. I liked the support and the way it hugs my foot without feeling tight or rubbing anywhere. The only thing that gave me pause was this: I had Glycerin 11s which I also loved, but the tread wore out SO quickly (like after a month) I was tempted to return them and probably should have. I wore them as long as possible because they are not cheap shoes, but there was virtually no tread left on the outer edges of the soles. Actually, they were worn down almost to the insole after 6 months. I decided to try these anyway, saving the box, and so far they appear to be holding up a lot better. Fingers crossed. For this price, you'd think crossing my fingers wouldn't be necessary, though. That's the only reason I didn't give these shoes 5 stars.

I have worn the Glycerins since the 9 came out, I was in love with them, the tens also. Bought the 11 and could tell they weren't as cushioned. Waited till the 12 came out and bought them, it is a different shoe, the toe box is more narrow and nowhere near the cushion the 9 and 10 had. I am very sad that I will have to find a different shoe. I hope they go back to the old model construction. I returned the 12.

After wearing the Glycerin 10 and 11 for several years, I was excited about the new color of the 12. The shoe is pretty, but Brooks needs to bring back to styling of the 10 and 11. This shoe did not have the wide platform feel. In fact, after wearing it several times and experiencing foot pain that I never had with the 10s and 11s, I did a side-by-side comparison. The heel on the 12 goes straight up and down when compared to the 10 and 11 that have a slight flaring out at the base of the heel. This flaring out provided the needed support when wearing the Glycerin. Please Brooks, don't go further with this style change because you will lose a long-time customer. I'm trying an Asics Gel to see if it is better than the Brooks.

Most comfortable sneakers that I have ever owned. Great neutral platform since I am supinator. Wide toe box.

Please don't ever change this shoe! I literally run on the outside edge of my feet and have high arches and this shoe is like heaven to me!

Absolutely the best athlete shoe I've ever purchased. I always need a wide and this shoe is perfect. The toebox is ample. An added bonus was the Seahawks colors and the '12' on the side.

I didn't want to spend this much on a pair of athletic shoes. However, I could have saved myself time and effort, if I would have done so in the first place. Since I didn't just order the Glycerin, I confidently say that having tried many other styles in Brooks athletic shoes and other brands these are superior in cushioning, roomy toe box and also aren't bad looking either.

I've worn the Glycerin for many iterations. I have medium to slightly narrow low volume feet (not much padding) with high arches and pretty narrow heels. The fit on these is great for me, though I agree with other reviewers that the shoe is less cushy than past models. The sizing has always been 1/2 size too small, so I take a 9, while in all other closed shoes I wear 8.5. The shoe helps with my supination. I use a 'Sole' blue insert -- the best OTC for high arches. The dark blue with green trim is really lovely, I don't like the flashy bright colors. I hope they increase the cushy factor again in the next iteration, but I'll keep these. Wide feet may want to look elsewhere.

Not only are these running shoes beautiful...they are so comfortable. It's like a party every time I put my feet in them. They make working out more fun. If you are a fan of Asics and are looking for a brand change, you won't be disappointed. Brooks are now my favorite running shoe.

First of all, you have to understand I hate tennis shoes! I have not worn them for 3-4 years. My heels started getting dry and cracking, and I had a blood blister on one. I reluctantly went to a running store in my blingy Justin sandals, which I had worn all through the winter. The guy in the running section had me walk this way and that way, brought out these bright shoes...I wanted white. I have worn these for a couple of weeks, but not every day, only when I go out. I have determined my feet really like the shoes, and I do as well...even if they are purple!

I have an older pair of Glycerins & love them so I just ordered the latest version. Still love the fit/comfort though I'd appreciate a little bit more subdued color choice!

I have always loved the cushioning of the Brooks Glycerin. The footbed of the new 12 version is very hard. Hurts my feet. I'm so sad because I've done the Avon Walk twice with the older versions and I was the only one who didn't have blisters at the end. Brooks, please bring back the cushion. I have another walk to do in June 2015!

I have a high arch and narrow heel but the front part of my foot is wide (between toes and midsole) so I need a D width. Brooks Ghost and Glycerin have been great for me; however, I got Glycerin 12 from Brooks immediately after it came out. Zappos did not yet have it and I am disappointed. While the Glycerin 11 gave me a lot of comfort in the wide front of my foot, the Glycerin 12 feels tight. My toes feel a bit too squashed.

I have been buying Glycerine for years, always happy as heck with them. However, these were unwearable for me. In fact my foot/ankle turned outward 3 times; I have to have that support under my outer foot to keep that from happening. I hate it when they ruin a great product under the guise of 'improvement'.

I have narrow low profile feet. Hard to fit and find comfort. These are great running shoes but also good for all around fitness and walking. I take a 9 1/2 shoe; 11 in these. Light weight but good stability.

I love this shoe. I have very difficult feet to fit, and this shoe was perfect at the start. I have since worn it hiking and in the gym. From the first moment, it has been a truly comfortable fit. Love this shoe.

Fantastic pair of sneakers. I bought my first pair after an extended phone conversation with Brooks. They fit my narrow feet perfectly, provide excellent support, and look great! The colors are very sharp and I get compliments often. Zappos had this model and I had to pick up a second pair.

I have shin splints which is quite painful when running. These shoes are the best I've owed so far for reducing the pain. I guess it's the cushioning? Also, these were sent to me as a gift but were the wrong size. Exchanging them was the absolute best customer service experience ever!

Great shoes. They fit perfectly. I just returned from walking around Rome for a week for 12plus hours a day on uneven cobblestone and I was the only one with no blisters and sore feet. Love them.

I love these shoes! I'm 5'3 125-130 and run any where from 15 to 40 miles a week depending on schedules. The shoe is light and cushiony. I found it a nice balance between minimalist neutrals and heavy stability shoes. Good support without the bulk. I used to run in the 8.5 but found 8W on Zappos and this was a very helpful adjustment.

Great shoe. I run 25 miles a week and have found this show to not cause foot and ankle pain. Soft soles, but not so soft you are unstable. My 2nd pair and I love them. I do have to order a 1/2 size up tho.

I have worn Brooks before and I was certainly not disappointed with these either. Not to mention the ombre color is sharp and a little different. Definitely recommend.
