This coat is a bit more stylish than the Metropolis parka. I have a metropolis and use it for cold weather as well, but in NYC I wanted something a bit more urban. To be honest this coat is great, except for one thing: I think its missing some cinching in the waist. I think in some views, my midsection looks very puffed out and that is the sheer nature of the cut of this jacket. If there were some simple drawcords at the waist that would be all this coat would have needed to look a bit more svelte in a cold weather jacket, especially around the middle!

I have been in search for a winter coat for about 2 months now... after ordering a few coats from a few different brands- that I did not like, I found this jacket. It finally arrived, and this is my best friend now. I will NEVER go back to any other coat. Just wishing the coat hood would be attached, and for me I found the coat a little too long but worth it. coat is fine but I do not like snap on/off hoods....previous experience with this type of attachment led to me losing the hood to other jackets...will continue to look for a fixed or zipper attached hooded jacket

Love this coat, it is more for "medium" cold if that makes sense (good for 20-40 degrees but I would want something heavier in the tens or the negatives). It is ok in wind but it could be better as far as waterproofing - I wore this coat waiting for the Patriots Super Bowl Parade this year and it soaked through with the snow/rain mix after about an hour and a half. But for milder winter days this coat is really great and the length helps fend off the cold. I really wish this coat had an interior pocket to store things in so that I can keep my hands in the pocket. Overall, great quality, not amazing waterproofing, wish it had an interior pocket.

I prefer to buy this jacket because it's not polyster , inside is goose feather.That's why it's good quality and light.If you want best protection for Ny or Chicago winter , that's the best jacket for you.It's warm not to hot like cheap Polyster material , and offering you full body protection which is really light when you compare with it's size.Price is reasonable for a well made North Face quality , which is coming with lifetime warranty.

I really like this coat. It's slightly athletic but still works to wear on an everyday basis. Comfortable and warm as well. I'm 5'7" 115 lbs with prominent shoulders and small hips, the small worked for me. I'm not always an easy fit, I'm glad to have found this coat.

This coat is very comfortable and warm. I live in Montreal and I only need to add an extra layer on really cold days. Also can wear to the mall without overheating. Highly recommend!

This was the best birthday gift for me, especially with this Long Island, New York winter weather. This coat keeps me soo warm, and I'm always cold when everyone else is comfortable. I m about 5'4" and 148 lbs so I have a large with room to move around in.

This coat is so stylish, and I got so many compliments on it. It's incredibly warm, too. However, after using it for only one winter, the down filling began to shed intolerably. Anytime I took the coat off, I was literally covered in feathers. I'm not kidding--literally covered. I contacted TNF Customer Service, and I was told to ship the coat (at my own expense) to TNF offices for them to evaluate the product. In the middle of winter. Shortly thereafter, that annoying, inconvenient little badge on the left arm got hooked on my purse and tore off, leaving a gaping hole in the arm. So problem solved, I guess. I ended up buying a Thermoball Hooded Parka to replace it, which I love. My husband, my kids, and I only own TNF jackets and coats. We're very pleased with the quality of every other piece of TNF outerwear we've ever worn, but this particular coat just wasn't up to the same standards. And I was disappointed in TNF's proposed remedy. If the coat is so obviously defected, why should all of the inconvenience be placed on me--the purchaser? These aren't cheap pieces of outerwear, after all.

I ordered it when it was on sale. It's light and warm enough. It fits nicely and looks nice. I'm 5'5" and in between a Med and large. I'm 124 lbs. the Med looks better on than the large but the large is roomy. The material is very nice, not shiny which I hate. Overall a good quality. I only wish companies would go back to having buttons or snaps in addition to a zipper.

I am VERY picky about clothes, most of all about coats. I wanted a winter coat that looked good, but it had to be warm enough to hold up against the coldest days of the season. This coat has it all. The fit is beautiful, not so puffy that it makes you look like a Chipotle burrito. Its so warm I never need to worry whether I need an extra layer under it. Light rain beads right up on it and doesn't soak through. The sleeves aren't too long, even on a petite person like me. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

I use it to walk to class, I go to Ohio state.

Perfect fit and very comfortable. I really liked having a coat this length because it kept me very warm from my head down to above my knees in windy, cold weather. It was very easy to fold up, pack and to carry around because it's so light in weight. I also like the option of the zip hood. Zipping the coat up is a tad irritating because of the length since I'm used to my coats hitting at the waist, but overall, I am very happy with my choice. I am 5'6"/135 lbs with broad shoulders and wear a medium in all Northface jackets (4-6 in most shirts/coats).

This jacket is the perfect coat for winter in Wisconsin. Keeps me warm and yet not heavy to wear. Love the length as well!

I've had this coat 3 years and I wouldn't recommend. I live in NYC. I have to layer underneath it like crazy just to stay warm, and even then it doesn't do a great job. The hood just keeps the head warm, but it doesn't protect your face at all -- the slightest flakes will get in your face and become very bothersome. When it is even drizzling, the coat gets wet, and then SMELLS gross. I wish I never bought this coat. I'm presently looking for a shell that I can actually make the investment worthwhile.

Was glad to see the "Miss Metro Parka" had a plain lining and not something that would clash with an outfit. I was also grateful "North Face" was embroidered in the same color as the coat and was not a glaring advertisement and distraction. I felt it was also a plus to find a 3/4-length coat that offered a detachable hood not rimmed with faux fur (whether it was removable or not). I did think, however, it would have been nice to have a more substantial zipper in metal rather than plastic and I was a little disappointed it had a double zipper which could be problematic. However, the double zipper did seem to work easily.

Love wearing this while walking the dogs and running errands. Looks nice enough to wear over suits to work. Very warm yet lightweight. Very pleased with the way it looks as well.

I live in Edmonton Canada and our winters are very harsh, so I was searching for a very warm coat, a longer down-filled coat with a hood. The miss metro has a nice design and I like the navy color. I wish they had an XXS size since I feel that it runs bigger than what an XS usually is. The sleeves are a little long too. That said, it's warm and I'll be wearing it regardless.

I love this coat so far. It fits perfectly, its very warm and also lightweight. I wear it for casual cold weather.

I really loved this jacket. I ordered it along with the transit ll jacket. I fell in love with the navy blue color and I do love the warm long coats. I would have kept it but I already have the long metropolis coat and I decided to keep the transit ll as I was really looking for a mid length coat for better functioning with my toddler in tow. If I'm looking to update my long coat I'll definitely be ordering this back! I was sad to send it back!! Fit was great and normal medium size...I love northface!!

This jacket is a MUST during the cold Minnesota winters. I love it. I originally had the Metropolis - from 2010 - 2014. I had to send it in as I was getting cold spots on my back. They fixed it, but the next winter - I felt cold again. I went to the St. Paul MN store on Grand Avenue and they offered me a new jacket. Gotta love NF lifetime warranty!!! The sales associate directed me to the Miss Metro and I am so glad they did. This jacket is 10x better than my previous one. Thank you NF!!!! You have a lifetime customer - please do not ever get rid of this beauty.
