I've only used the bag for two flights. Works well. Easily identifiable. Appears well made. My one issue is that the telescopic handles make you question if you are doing something wrong. It only locks in one position ( fully extended). It looks as though it should be locking in another position, if it did lock in the midway position then this would have been the perfect bag. The additional strap in the pocket should come with a directions tag which would have been very useful.

About to put this into use. Heavier then I expected but hope this offers more space then my decade plus north face carry on roller

We love our bags but only as carryon bags. Twice we have been forced to check them in and each time they got very dirty and grimy. Very hard to clean. Never get all black marks off. Do not check in.

The actual dimensions for airline fit gauge are 21" x 13" x 10". So it does not meet exactly the required 9" on the depth for most airlines. Might be problem is you have a stickler agent for a full flight.

Love Rolling Thunder but how you pack will decide if it fits your needs, maybe able to fit some gear not much but all your clothing & shoe needs. I would definitely add to collection.
Great for a quick weekend

Carry on bag for a trip to Costa Rica. Great room, and sturdy materials and construction. Packing the lid (inside and outside pockets) with even a few flat small items caused this to exceed the carry on sizing which can cause issues if you have a strict gate agent.
Overall happy with the purchase and plan to use this as my go to carry on moving forward.
My shipping experience was a bit dodgy but worked out in the end.

It is a very sturdy duffle. I wish it were just a bit smaller, like 65 or 70 liters, so it would hold three weeks of clothes without extra space. When it is not completely full and is cinched down, the zippers on the shoe/laundry compartment are hard to use. Also, I wish the shoe/laundry zippers had lock holes.

Quality looks good after checking it over. I like how the wheels are more tucked into the body so they don't get broken off like the other luggage with wheels on the bottom that swivel. I didn't like the zipper, as it took me a bit to figure out how to open the luggage at first. It was more hidden than I expected, but may also increase the longevity as it wont be ripped off.

Rugged and great packing volume. Easy to operate handle and smooth wheels. A little heavy for the size but great design overcomes this.

Purchased this bag 5 years ago, and its been through it all. I travel a ton of filming, its been beat up for sure. Just now is the wheel wonky, and the handle is getting weird. I consider it a win.

Wish they would have said in the description it was a 40L. I also have the 36" rolling thunder which is 90L and I also had to call to find that out. I probably would have went up a size above the 22" if I knew it was smaller than my base camp duffel. The reinforced backing is very nice though. But the braces for the bottom come out of the little loops a lot. It doesn't affect anything but is very annoying to have to keep putting them back in. One of the two buckles on both my 22" and 36" bags broke. I tried to have it fixed in the store but the guy told me it's a pretty lengthy turnaround process and I work out of town a lot so that isn't ideal. All in all though, for living out of my suitcase most of the time, they're pretty decent bags

Great bag. I have had three people stop me and ask about the bag. It's cool. A little heavy so you have to watch what you pack. It's been around the world and is still in good nick with some minor scratching. The hard case bottom and auto-stand up feature for the bag are two thumbs up. 4 stars only because of the weight of the bag.

Traveling the country in buses and planes so I need a durable bag. It works. Though the shipping fiasco was a mess I did eventually get a black bag instead of the camo.

I love this bag. It rolls smoothly and holds everything under the sun. My only complaint is that this is my second replacement bag because the stitching comes apart after about a year. I know that checking the bag during flights means that it gets abused, but you would think for the price it would be more durable. Customer service is great though.

Easy operation and good rolling. It readily takes another bag on top. Plenty of room for a weekend or so.

The bag held together well during international travel. Can't blame North Face for how poorly airlines handle luggage. Although the base camp material scratches/gets roughed up pretty easy.

I have all 3 sizes. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is the handle on this one. It just has 2 straps. I have had no issues and travel for business.

So far the bag has responded well to the loads I have applied to it. It's so beautiful that my other bags are jealous.

So far this bag has been great, I like the hook it has available to hang a back pack from the bag to relieve some of the carrying on the long walks in the airport . Overall a basic carry on bag. Only down side is it only has 2 wheels it would be 5 stars if it has four.

I absolutely trust the brand to provide durable duffle bags that can be thrown around by baggage at the airport and not rip/scuff. I will say, I hate that there aren't four wheels on this bag or retractable front wheels because it's easy to push alongside when you pack heavy!
Other than that, great bag for any journey!

The materials and construction are top-notch, the handle feels sturdy, and the wheels are whisper quiet. Exterior pockets are well-positioned and easily accessible. Overall this is a great carry-on. The overall size feels a little small. A long weekend's worth of clothes? No problem. A whole week, though, might be pushing it. That likely has to do with airlines' changing carry-on dimension requirements and can't really be blamed on the design of the bag itself.
My only real con is the lack of interior organization. There is a mesh divider on the inside of the front panel, but it would have been nice to have the option for half-and-half/clamshell style dividers instead. All in all, it's a tiny gripe for a great back that I'll be using for years. I will more than likely grab the next size up, too, for longer trips.
