I've purchased two if these bag in the last two years. My wife and I love them for domestic flights they work well as a carry-on bag.

I bought the rolling thunder specifically for road trips. My girlfriend and I needed a luggage that would hold both of our gear, and normal non outdoor essentials. I have used it for mountain biking (car camping) trips, snowboarding, and a road trip to Riudoso.
It has been carried upstairs with the handles and rolled around on dirt, grass, and puddles of water with no problem. It is reinforced in all of the right places along with not having to much unnecessary material. My girlfriend and I have been able to pack 3 days worth of clothes each along with both of our gear. It arrived within 3 business days!

Bought this for ski trip. Also bought the 22inch Rolling thunder for my boot bag. The bags are worth the price. I purchased a set of Samsonite hard luggage last year and wanted a more durable travel bag. These rolling thunder bags are top notch and hold up well to airline travel. I like the 22" as it fits in the overhead, while I place the 30" underneath the plane. I also have the 19" for international travel as it is a bit smaller, but a high quality bag. I have the Patagonia and don't like the way the handles are situated over the opening. Access to the North Face is very easy while the zippered compartments hold paperwork or travel documents. I highly recommend these products from North Face.

I was able to fit two sleeping bags, two day packs, three pairs of shoes and two weeks of clothes in this bag on a trip to New Zealand. It rolls smoothly and can be stood up on end. Handles at both ends allow two people to carry it if needed. Its bold orange color can't be missed on airport baggage carousels.

This exceeds my expectations. Keep making quality products. The only downfall are the wire frame bars inside the bag.

Great bag! I feel confident that the airlines will need some serious muscle to mess this bag up. Just flew with Delta and fit perfectly in the overhead compartment.

I was a hesitant at first when purchasing the Rolling Thunder rolling luggage bag. I read the reviews carefully on last years model. Biggest concern was durability. Especially since others that purchased last years bag were unhappy with the bottom corners wearing out in short time. When I got my bag i was extremely satisfied! I saw that most of the issues were addressed for the new model. Love the size. Perfect for weekend trips and works as a carry on. Not to mention the great color way of the Black/Red Rolling Thunder. Definitely completes the overall look I'm going for when traveling for business. And the Lifetime warranty ensures me that North Face stands behind their products.

Great size and durability. Only negative are the inside brackets that you must make sure are attached because they pop out.

I use this product as a checked bag for airline travel. The bag is well built and does double duty as a luggage cart for my carry - on and personal bag. The handle is great, and the wheels are good.
Two areas of improvement are the edges of the hard plastic need to be re-enforced they are little too flexible. The second area is the empty weight of the luggage is a little high. At nearly 12 pounds empty it uses 24% of the allowed weight for most domestic airlines. Otherwise, I am quite happy with this bag.

Great looking lightweight roller board. It's my second one owing to the fact that the first had catastrophic wheel failure.
The shell is lightweight and well-designed with strong seam, stitching and excellent waterproof fabric. Zippers work extremely well, and the bag packs an extraordinary amount of stuff for the size of the bag which fits easily into overhead aircraft bins.

I do all my travels using these bags. I have four. The durability and strength of materials has been excellent. The only complain, for all of them, has been the wheels that brake or deform and the rolling turns uncomfortable and noisy

Slightly smaller than the old one in the handle, seems a little fragile and not as heavy duty.

I used this to fit everything for my daughters first semester overseas. A big bag with top quality (and tough/strong) material. The biggest negative is that it does not have an extendable handle like you would see on other suitcases (including the 30" version). There are 2 hand straps but that makes it a little awkward to pull, but manageable. Th size of the bag means that you will easily exceed 50lbs ... so you may want to buy a smaller bag to avoid excess baggage charges.

The largest, sturdiest rolling duffel on the market! 2 reasons I take off a star: 1. The die-cast ID pocket on the side already looks like it's sagging, and 2. It should be mentioned in the description that if you pack this bag anywhere near capacity, you won't be able to check it on an airplane in the US without paying an oversized baggage fee - usually $100-$200.

The bag is great, almost perfect. It would be ideal if it had lining inside.

It is a massive bag. Seems like it'll be very durable. Only complaint is I wished it had a true typical luggage handle instead of just straps.

The quality seems good. Will it stand the test of time? I love the bright color, which makes it easier to keep an eye on. Has useful compartments on exterior. Big wheels for real world surfaces. The plastic shell material seems like it could be a little more beefy along with the binding.

This is a great rolling duffle! and I really like it in Yellow BUT:
The first time I used it, on a flight from Boston to Billings, MT (via Salt Lake City), I found that the yellow vinyl surface had been seriously scuffed and marked (probably as a result of aggressive baggage-handling); I tried Windex, then Fantastic, and was able to clean some of the black marks from the yellow surface but I'm pretty sure that the yellow surface has been permanently marked. I previously had a black version of this piece and I'm thinking that Black may be the better choice.

Still haven't used it, but just by the looks, the inside doesn't have a lining, which is not a problem, but is weird. It could definitely have more pockets, there's space for that, the wheels do not go sideways, and it comes with a stripe that is not attached to anything, so I don't know why is that for.
