I purchased this after buying the largest Rolling Thunder and love both bags. I haul my scuba gear in the larger one and my electronics and sensitive gear in the smaller Rolling Thunder. I've taken it on two trips so far and am very happy with it. The quality is solid and it seems well put together. I highly recommend this bag!

What a bag! It stores so much stuff and the extra pockets are great to hold the stuff you may need to get to easily. Super durable material and the color combo makes it easy to spot on a luggage carousal. the wheels are heavy duty and roll smoothly. The capacity allows my wife and I to pack one bag for our trips. Only issue is bag is on the heavy side so the airlines weight limit comes into play.

Flew with this suitcase as my checked bag and my TNF Base Camp Duffel as a carry on. The suitcase is fairly heavy on its own, but it's due to the hard-shell back which is extremely durable and makes the extra bit of weight worth it. I over filled the suitcase with a sleeping bag, tent poles, and my clothes and it was still under 45 lbs. It's a great checked bag and I plan on using it till it falls apart, if that ever happens. I also got a lot of compliments on my luggage.

Used for a week business trip so far, excellent! I already have the large and medium Base Camp duffels, plus a Recon (also perfect hand-luggage) backpack. This is excellent, even better than the basic duffel. Great wheels & handle, like the top pocket, smooth runner and lightweight. Time will tell how resilient it is, but so far another perfect addition to the line. Expect I'll pick up an overhead-compatible one soon as this is too long for carry-on.... but it does pack a huge amount, so you'd likely check anyway for suitable trips.
Hope nobody else gets the yellow and black as it stands-out great on the carousel.

I travel Asia and need something that will hold a lot for extended trips. The soft sides allow for the easy fit in and out of cars and train travel when in different countries. The waterproof material is an added bonus when traveling year round.

Well made, nice design, fits airline specs, nice design. I have only used once so far. I replaced an old carry on, this one is lighter and seems more robust.

I have had the Rolling Thunder 30" for over a year, and purchased the 22" for long weekends. I love being able to look at the luggage conveyor belt and know that I will be picking up my suitcase. I love NorthFace due to the durability, and look of all their products. My daughter has taken her 22" all around the world and it still looks brand new. I highly recommend this product!

This bag is great to carry me and my boyfriends ski stuff for at least a week. The only issue is the corners are easily dented but with the lifetime warranty it isn't that big of an issue.

I purchased the rolling thunder 22 after receiving the rolling thunder 30 as a gift. The rolling thunder 30 was so nice and durable I decided I needed the matching carry on size. This suitcase is so durable and spacious it is perfect. I was reluctant to purchase due to the high price tag but can now confirm it was completely worth it. A friend that owned it told me I would never have to buy another suitcase again and now I know that is true! I do a lot of overseas travel and my luggage gets very beat up (Ive even had to start it to a donkey to get it to the top of a mountain) This fabric and build seems to be made to last and the lifetime warranty is a huge bonus. The water resistant fabric will come in handy at some point I imagine. Could not recommend this enough. Spend the money and view it more as an investment. These suitcases were built to last.

I've been thru many bigs and so far this ranks very high...I often run to and from the train during the week and often run between 1 and 3.5 miles per day during the week with the bag rolling behind me....I just got this bag but already put 15 miles of running on in and perhaps another 10 miles of walking...and so far the wheels seem very solid and I like the plastic shell in the back and on the bottom which helps protect the bag. Overall I think its a very solid bag.

Took this on a 10-day trip and the bag was more than spacious enough to accommodate clothes, ultra light jacket, a small umbrella, a tripod, an extra pair of sneakers, and flip flops. There are wire frames inside the bag that take a bit of space. This can slightly reduce the amount of space if you're only packing larger items (e.g. tripod, large packing cubes). The outer material seems really durable and allows for a little bit of expansion. It's a great bag for shorter trips or for those who pack light.

I love North Face luggage! We have three carry-ons and two larger pieces for longer trips and ski trips with lots of bulky clothing. The zippers are super strong -- we stuff our bags to the brim and we've never had one break. This bag is the perfect carry-on yet so roomy you could fit a week's worth of clothing in it. It's incredibly practical!

I loved it, very spacious, can get all my stuff to carry on in short trips. Can load more stuff when traveling internationally, so as to get some pounds out of my check in bags.
Would recommend for t4aveking.
Great wheels and grip.

You might think this bag is heavy at first, but when I compared it with a similar sized bag that i was replacing due to it coming to it's end of life, I realized it wasn't. It stands up by itself without issue/falling over. It stays open and is laid out well pocketwise.

I use this to haul my kendo equipment to practice and tournaments. So far it has not let me down one bit! I've already had a couple of people ask me about it and where they can find one. This bag has been amazing and I can't wait to use it for flying and/or car trips. I would definitely recommend this to others.

This bag is a terrific gear hauler. Can fit a full size RRS tripod, fluid head, two light stands, a broadcast camera, audio gear and a week's worth of clothes + extra boots. Buying this has been life changing has securely hauling gear through airports, cities and train stations is a huge part of my work. Much more flexible than a full hard case--great to be able to put fragile/sensitive items at bottom of bag and then stuff to capacity.

I bought this particular piece of luggage for my son who is a college student. He travels frequently, either trips home or long weekends with his friends. I chose North Face due to their reputation for stylish, high quality products. The lifetime warranty was also a factor in my choice. We were both pleased.

This year I am planning several overseas trips for extended periods of time. Having the right gear for the adventures is important. I am impressed with the 30" Rolling Thunder's craftmanship built to withstand the rugged conditions of Albania as well as the the many train rides through the Japanese rail systems. The spacious main compartment, as well as the sectionable smaller compartments, facilitate organization. I especially like the re-enforced base of the bag of the bag (upgrade from previous Rolling Thunder series) the adds durability.
