I love these boots for what they are, which is a practical, warm, really comfortable winter boot. They aren't the most stylish, and are a little clunky in appearance (though not heavy, they feel pretty lightweight on), but are so comfortable that I don't care! When I first got them, I was wearing them around the house like slippers because they are so cozy.

Great winter boots. Light weight yet rated for 25 degrees below zero. I bought these for my daughter-in-law & she loves them.

I love these boot. They're very comfortable and warm. They are a little stiff, so walking long distances in them isn't super comfortable (they feel more like wearing snowboarding boots). They are also just a little taller than I usually prefer, but I still recommend them. I love the grey color - I thought they'd be more purplish, but they're really not. Very waterproof and they keep the snow out.

These are the cutest boots!! They are very warm!! If you a lot of snow where you live. These boots got you covered. You definitely have room for a thick winter sock! The boot itself is flexible so comfort all around!!!!!

Got these to go to Lake Tahoe in the winter. Super comfortable and warm, feet stayed dry and my toes didn't go numb. No breaking in required, no rubbing, I literally have nothing bad to say about these boots. Very happy with this purchase!

Warm and comfortable! Last week it was in the negative digits here in the midwest and these boots keep my toes warm and toasty! They are wonderful boots! True to size.

I bought these for my daughter-- she LOVES them! They are warm, comfortable, and keep her feet dry. She loves them because they are still "cute" even though they are snowboots!!! The faux fur lining makes them supersoft. The size 8 fit her perfectly (she is 14 and wears a 7.5 dress shoe and an 8.5 nike sneaker).

Great lightweight winter boot! These are very comfortable, with good support and adjustable laces for a variety of calf fits. I wanted a waterproof boot that was not as heavy duty as my Sorels and these are perfect--good for commuting to work as well as everyday winter wear. very happy with the purchase.

This is a great boot. Stylish exterior that hit about mid calf, great for stepping in snow banks. My feet were dry and comfortable after about a miles walk.

Buy a size up. Boot felt tight at first. Once I wore the boot in the house for an hour it felt comfortable. It even stretched in the width. I wear thin socks w/the insert. I also remove the insert on colder days and wear thick socks and my orthotics. For extra padding/warmth, you can cut a piece of felt or wool and insert it into the boot. Just trace the original insert.

Super comfortable. Super warm. I can bike in weather in the teens and my feet are warm and toasty. I got a size 8 for my 7-7.5 size feet because I like boots to be a little bit big. Attractive and sturdy at the same time.

Great boot for the terrible winter we're having. Tons of snow, below zero wind chills and my feet are staying warm and dry in these boots! I was a little concerned at first because they don't have a thick lining, but my feet still stay warm and dry. A great boot for winter weather!

I actually shouldn't be reviewing these as I bought them for my daughter. However, I do know that she somehow lost her last pair in an apartment move and was distraught trying to find them. Alas, she gave up and asked me for an advanced Christmas gift so she could get another pair. She lives in Chicago and commutes, teaches at an elementary school where the teachers need to go outside for recess and finds these boots an absolute necessity. I would say you can't get a better review than that.

I love these, they are sort of retro style but warm, in part because they are taller than a shorty. The toe area is roomy enough with smartwool socks.

These boots were exactly what I was looking for. I wear a 7 1/2 and that's what I ordered and they fit fine. I have worn these boots all day shopping and my feet weren't killing me by the end of the day. They keep my feet warm can't say enough good things about them. Glad I bought them.

These boots are very warm and comfortable, even in the below zero temperatures we've been having lately. My feet don't even feel the cold. I took other reviewers' advice and purchased a size up so there is plenty of room to wear thick socks, plus I enjoy the extra width as I have wide feet. The size up is a perfect fit! These boots also have excellent tread and I've never felt insecure on slippery ground. I've been wearing the boots exclusively for almost two weeks now, and I don't know what I would do without them!

I live in Central New York State, a terribly cold and snowy place! These boots have done a great job at keeping my feet nice and warm. I ordered a 1/2 size up so I could wear thick socks with them, and even with the thick socks I had plenty of room in the boots. They don't have a super comfortable footbed however. It's kind of hard. My feet were a little achy after a walk around Target. I will take advantage of the extra space they offer to put in a squishy insole.

Would recommend ordering a size up as they seem to run a little narrow in the toe area.

I am going to repeat most of what others have said. These boots are comfortable, warm, cute, and do well on ice and snow. I have worn them daily since I received them and I often forget to take them off at work because they don't feel clunky. I have spent far more on far inferior boots. These were a great value too!

I have had a massive crush on the Sorel Winter Carnival boots for two years. When they finally went on sale a few weeks ago, I snagged them in my usual size and a half size smaller. I picked up these Columbia Ice Maiden II boots also- as sort of a secondary option/something to compare them with. When my Zappos box arrived, I was SO EXCITED to get those gorgeous Sorels out of the box and slip them on. I wear a 7.5 and have a normal to just very slightly narrow foot--- and I felt like I was wearing a NASA space boot. Very big, very clunky. Oh well- who cares- THEY ARE SO CUTE! I walked around and around my apartment, trying to make myself fall in love with the super cute Sorels. Where my usual size, 7.5, felt appropriate, I just didn't feel comfortable. AND something I didn't notice from the website until I actually tried the boot on: the tongue isn't lined. It looked and felt weird/uncomfortable to me. I tried on these Columbia Ice Maidens in my usual size- 7.5, and it felt like I was stepping into a glove-like-boot that was made just for me. (I'm 5'7'' and average weight; I never order wide shoes or wide calf width in leather riding boots.) These Ice Maidens are cute, COZY, have a lined tongue that really makes a difference in the overall comfort and look of the boot; and best of all even though they are a little "clunky" in that they are a true snow boot- I didn't feel like I was wearing astronaut boots. I felt safe wearing them in 7" of snow, but also safe and quick on my feet as I walked around running errands. I was so shocked that I ended up choosing these over the Sorel Winter Carnivals- but I wasn't expecting the Sorels to be so big and clunky. Maybe folks with wider feet or wider ankles/calves would really appreciate the Sorels, but if you have average feet/legs, boots like these Columbia Ice Maidens might fit you so much better. These boots are cute, cozy, and functional; I'm so thankful I have them right at the beginning of winter!

Just got these in the mail - normally a size 6.5 but I ordered a 7 and they fit so perfect! Tons of room in the toe box and immediately warmed my feet up. It hasn't been super cold here on the east coast yet but really confident these will be amazing for when it snows. I ordered a pair of North Face boots previously and they were super tight, heavy and uncomfortable (same size). These Columbia boots are lightweight, and stylish, warm. Took them out to walk the dog immediately after getting them and they were super comfy plus they have enough room to wear wool sucks (i use darn tough vermont socks) for moisture wicking and warmth!
