Just tried it on, feels real comfortable, and has a nice look. I normally wear a large, in fact I have an earlier version of this same hoody that fit me perfectly in large. I had to return my original order and get a medium, because the large was way too big.

I bought this a month ago and have been wearing it every other day since. It's a nice light and warm fleece (although it does not act as a very good windbreaker). The quality of the materials is great and the colour is true to the website. One downside is that it is a little tight on the armpits and tends to accumulate sweat even when the rest of the upper body isn't necessarily hot. Overall very happy with this purchase and would recommend to others looking for a casual, but technical, fleece.

Bought this as posh present for my wife. It is great quality and looks nicely tailored. Plum colour. Delivery was very quick. Fits 'lean' rather than 'small'. Only downside is price.

This hoody is an urban piece that can be worn as a mid-layer In the field if required. I use this hoody in the city because I have technical mid-layers that I use for other applications. My one gripe with this garment is the slight jingle the metallic zipper makes when I walk. Sometimes I hear it when I'm walking and I find it a bit annoying; maybe I'm sensitive to little annoying sounds or maybe I just think that a garment called the "covert" hoody shouldn't jingle when you walk. That said, the hoody looks great and I'm probably just going to replace the metallic zipper tabs with small gauge guyline.

I'll start by saying I like this hoody a lot. The redesign is great too. It's warm and the fleece is high quality. It does seem maybe an inch short in the body, but thats not a deal breaker for me. My main issue is the mesh lining inside is the same color grey on every hoody. Except on the black one where it's black. I think for the price you could have matched that liner color for all of them and not just black. It seems like you just had an excess of grey mesh laying around that you needed to use up. Cheap move. Patagonia seems to be able to match thier internal mesh to each item's unique color and not charge as much for thier clothes. Just saying.

Nice jacket. Fabric and fit were great - true to size. green color as not pleasing to me. But the big problem for me was the hood fit awkwardly. The hood was not comfortable to me with and without the drawstring was use.

I bought the covert hoody with the intention of using it for casual wear and as a technical midlayer. The XS fit on the relaxed side and the sleeves are too long for me (fit is relative though - I am 5'3" and 110 lbs so I am small in general), and like another reviewer, I wish they had put thumb holes in the sleeves. The hoody is super warm, stylish, and feels well-constructed. It works amazingly as a midlayer. As a casual piece, it definitely looked like technical gear despite the clean lines (I got the marine colour) so I probably won't wear it as much. Biggest con for me is that even the slightest breeze cuts right through... def better worn under a shell.

The cover hoody is arguably a stylish, warm fleece meant primarily for daily use and urban life, not the high alpines. This fleece is super warm, comfortable, and and substitute on cold, but not windy days for something akin to my cerium lt, provided I have a shell jacket. The outer fabric does a wonderful job at mimicking the texture, patterns, and feel of a wool fleece, but without the durability issues. The textured heather fabric does great in interactions with backpacks and other abrasive issues. As I don't wear this fleece during outside activities, I can't comment on how it would react with a granite outcrop or bushwhacking through pine saplings. Pocket position is good, and there is ample room, perhaps even too much, for the main torso pockets. I have yet to consider a true purpose for the bicep pocket, but appreciate its presence. My main complaints are the fit, which I would assume would be dialed in for Arcteryx. I'm 5'11 and 150 lbs for perspective. I bought a sized small. 1) The arm sleeve length is about 1-2 inches too long, and the tapering of the sleeve with the nice elastic hem, which is great for warmth, makes long-sleeved flannels and shirts not the easiest for layering. 2) The hoody, while warm, is relatively shapeless and is too big for my head alone, but too small for a helmet. 3) The torso, like noted in other comments, is short, but the width is my concern. The hoody bunches up and has lots of free space and volume when sitting down, or relaxing. My other complaint is the zipper interaction with the very comfortable chin flap. Its very rare that the zipper completely shuts, being prevented by the chin guard. Closing a hoody should not be a Herculean feat. For note, I considered the Elgan Hoody as well, and this was by far a better choice for the warmth, fit, and cost.

Overall a wonderful hoody to use as a warm layer, didn't find it bulky and wasn't uncomfortable when layered with other jackets for skiing. My only issue is that I find it a little short in the torso, however, I'm quite tall.

Being part of the Arc'teryx 24 series, the covert hoody, perfectly blends outdoor performance and your everyday living needs. I mainly used this hoodie for alpine touring and it turned out to be a really good match for my needs. I'm usually somebody that gets warm really easily when I start climbing. I usually keep a down jacket in my backpack for safety purposes, but when I go up, i'd much rather wear something thinner and more breathable. The Alpenex polyester kept me nice and dry all throughout the day even in the most humid conditions. I also enjoyed the hoodie that snuggled nicely around my head to block the wind. Overall, the covert hoody proved itself to be reliable and versatile. It quickly became my go to for all of my winter escapades. I would't hesitate to recommend this piece of equipment to any outdoor enthusiast.

I love the look of the jacket. It is typical Arcteryx style and the construction details exude quality. My only grip is the arms could use a little more volume. The arms fit tight and make wearing a LS base layer a pain when putting on. It's a minor gripe, but at this price point small details matter.

It is exactly what I expected (according Arcteryx description), first or second shell..., wide enough to wear something more down, fits a bit large (I would say regular-wide), more focused to urban or trekking-soft hikking..., warmy. sportive..., elegant, as I like the daily clothing: all terrain. Clearly is not technical, but usable for a lot of activities..., , very happy with my new hoody. Ah!, my standard size is L, and also in this case (193 cm, 91 kgs.), Breathing-sweating perfectly. but not wind-stopping.

Decent coat, although on wearing it the fit is a little strange, as I usually fit small arcteryx items perfectly. The sleeves and waist are long with good shoulder fit. The coat material is stiff so layering results in bunching up. That said - warm and stylish, so on balance a good coat and reasonable for the price.

I wear it all the time, it's warm, good looking and the sleeves are long enough for my long arms. I would prefer a trimmer fit around the waist and it find it a little short, some of my shirts are longer than this hoody. 2cm more would be nice. The other thing is the little zipper flap by the chin. It blocks the zipper some times when I zip it up.

Nice fitting, nice cut. Can be worn as a casual outfit with great style. But it is also a very nice ski fleece worn under a hardshell.

This is my very first piece of Arc gear and I'm ashamed it has taken me this long to jump onboard. I doubt I'll be buying anything other than Arc'Teryx from here on out, but I digress. On with the review... This hoodie is near perfect save one tiny complaint: it's a tad short in length. I'm 6'0, 190lbs and my average large-sized t-shirt hangs out beneath this hoodie. Drives me nuts! That really is my only complaint, which is why I rated the size as fitting a little small. The Polartec is incredibly warm and very breathable, and I've used it as a mid-layer on several occasions with great results. I do a lot of tactical shooting and I'd very much like to see an enhanced LEAF version of this hoodie at some point. Add shoulder or bicep pockets with Velcro IFF panels and a strip of 400 Denier nylon under the arms to protect the elbows and forearms, offer it in Croc, Wolf, or Multicam and voila, another Arc'Teryx winner! I'd buy one right now. Just make the bloody thing an inch or two longer please.

I purchased this just a few weeks ago, so I can't yet speak to how this jacket will hold up in the next ten years. It's a good-looking jacket that keeps me warm down to the low-40s or so. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles or large logos on it, which is a plus in my book. One thing that is a little funny with this jacket is the sizing. I have a medium Theta SV, which is obviously a much different jacket, and it fits perfectly. I ordered the Covert Hoody in a medium. I thought that it would run a little big since it has a relaxed fit. It actually is a little bit tight. I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 180 pounds by the way. So, I found thre sizing to be a little different from other Arcteryx jackets I've worn. Summary: be careful with the sizing; it looks good, but it's got a simple design; it's probably good for 45 degree weather and warmer.

I've been wearing Covert Hoodies for many years, and they're among my favourite items of clothing. I have four, and wear them almost every day during the winter. I have two different sizes, to accommodate changing needs for additional layers. Was hoping to buy more, and I'm very pleased that they're for sale once more (after a season or two during which they were unavailable). However, the colours this year are completely uninspiring to me. They used to be available in beautiful blue, chilli, etc - and there's a green I like a lot this year in the Cardigan version - but the selection of colours available so far is unappealing to me. The only other criticisms I have towards this hoody are that there's no loop from which to hang it, and the last one I bought (around 3 years ago) is a lot sweatier and less breathable than previous ones. Not sure whether the fabric was changed in some way?
