Great coat for the Chicagoland area. Keeps me warm but I can shovel and move around without be restricted.

I purchased this coat in May for off-season savings, so I can't yet speak to its warmth or functionality in "the elements". I have owned other Columbia apparel before, however, and have always ben satisfied with performance. This jacket is made of quality material and reflects good craftsmanship. The fit is not "slim" but rather "athletic". The waist is a bit roomy, but the drawstring draws it in quite effectively. My wife gave me compliments when she saw me trying it on. I marked "runs a little large" only because I bought a medium and it wasn't that form-fitted, and I'm 6'3, albeit thin at 175 lbs. Overall, a great jacket that I look forward to wearing in the fall.

Just got my ski jack for my trip in 7 months

This alpine jacket is great for winter days. It's a solid shell that has room for layering underneath if it's really cold. I really like the comfort & performance of this jacket. This is the best jacket I have owned.

More than impressed with the Omni-heat technology, breathable fabric and waterproof. On top of that, this is a great looking jacket. It is my new go to jacket to battle winter's in Northern Indiana.

This is a beautiful jacket, and I love all the little details. For example, the hood adjustment Velcro strap, the flexible extenders on the zipper pulls. Quality jacket.

Have used in sub zero temperatures. Was amazing. Skiing in the rain is no problem either.

I bought this jacket and I must say that delivery was very quick, good quality jacket, very good customer service with Nikki that helped me with a problem I had. Definitely will buy again in Columbia!

This was my son's 1st season as a ski instructor, and he wore it 3 times a week teaching/skiing. The jacket kept him warm and dry the entire season. It held up so well, it still looks like new!

We bought this for my son to wear skiing. The resorts were closed before we got there (covid-19) however, he loves the jacket. I which I I had bought myself one. I don't need a jacket but I want this one.

MY husband said he was always cold in the winter and after using this jacket he realizes the importance of a good quality one! He didn't know what he was missing until he wore this one

Excellent product, quality as described

For my annual trip I was I need of a new jacket. I had done a fair amount of research and this jacket was always in the top 5 for function, price and quality. I am very pleased with my choice and the jacket performed as advertised.

I bought my wife a Columbia jacket several years ago. She swears by it. I decided to get one for myself. This jacket is awesome. Within minutes of putting it on, I could feel myself getting warmer. The only bad part, the weather has warmed up considerably and I won't need it until next year. I'm sure it will keep my warm and comfy when needed.

I bought this jacket to upgrade from my ratty old rain coat. I've worn it now in both cold and wet weather. In the rain, I was dry. In the cold, it was very warm, requiring less layers than my old coat. Yesterday, while boating at 45 miles and hour in a light shower, I was both dry and warm. It has passed the test. As for size, it is true to size, meaning that if you anticipate wearing lots of layers, you might want to size up. Still, with a warm shirt in 35 weather, I was comfortable and needed no more layers.

I was looking for a nice warm winter jacket to wear on my job, which sometimes requires me to be outside in very cold/snowy weather. I needed a jacket with a tougher exterior then ripstop nylon, and the Mens Action Alpine Jacket looked like the perfect choice. Long enough to completely cover my back, and with Omni-Heat lining and Omni-Tech coating to keep me warm and dry, the Mens Action Alpine Jacket lived up to all my expectations. I'm not a small guy (except height wise) and the XXL size fit pretty darn good. I rate it "runs a little small" only because if you have a belly, it's a bit harder than it could be to zip up. But once zipped, the jacket never feels tight, just comfortable. With all the technology built in, this jacket is a wonder. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a brighter color jacket for my husband so I can find him in a crowd. This one has fit the criteria. We skied the past two days and he wore it. He commented several times how much he likes it. He likes the fit because it is not bulky. He liked the warmth and it wasn't too warm. He likes the removable hood as well. He is pretty picky so I am very pleased with how pleased he is.

Ordered this coat for my child who is a freshman at the University of Denver. My son said it is super warm and comfortable! The temp in Denver fluctuates quite a bit and this coat works for my son all day and night!

Ordered this for husband for an Alaskan cruise we have coming up. Can't review on warmth because have not had opportunity to use it yet but he liked the looks and said it was comfortable.

The jacket is great and my husband loves it. It's light but very warm my husband says. It fits him perfectly even though he is bigger in his shoulders. True to size. Definitely great buy.

I always wear a size large jacket but this was way too big for me. I ended returning the jacket, which really bummed me out because I could tell it was a very good jacket. Colombia also docks you for the return shipping, which stinks. It actually prevents me from ordering it again in a different size.

Great design, material and quality. Black color is fabulous- as if it changes colors! My husband loves the loser fit. Finally he is ready to say to his very old Columbia Alpine design jacket from 15 year ago because he had not been able to find the replacement till now.

I have been very impressed with this jacket in this cold Chicago winter. The jacket is very light weight compared to a competitor's 3 in 1 jacket I have worn for the past decade. However, even with the much lighter weight and less bulk, it is still quite warm. In days where it is snowing, I can see water beading up on the coat instead of soaking in the fabric. I am confident this will be a great coat for years to come. I am impressed with the look of the jacket as well. I ordered the black and I think it looks quite stylish.
