So far I'm impressed. The jacket seems to be well made and durable. It is warmer than I expected for how thin the jacket is, however, this is not a jacket for extreme cold without a layer or two underneath. Overall I like the jacket and expect it to last.

Jacket fit great, was very warm and comfortable. The hood was too small to accommodate my SMITH HOLT helmet. If I put the hood over the helmet I could not move my head freely. Hood needs to be sized for helmet use if this jacket is going to be catagorized as a ski jacket.

Bought jacket in size M for my 14 yr old. He is 5'9" and is normally between M and L, but this M is plenty big and is cut a bit longer, which we like. Love the Omni heat products in general. Needed a coat for snowboarding that has a powder skirt. This one fits all his needs.

Fit a little large, material is good quality, like the design. Yes I recommend this Men's Alpine Action Jacket.

I purchased this jacket over Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I was excited to receive this jacket as it was very cold and windy in the northeast over Thanksgiving. The shipping was longer than expected, but when I received the package, I was happy to open and try it on. The quality in craftsmanship is impressive, but unfortunately, it didn't fit me well. I exchanged it for another model at my local store. As long as it fits, this is a high quality jacket.

I bought a medium sized jacket but it feels a bit large for me.

I bought this jacket for my daughter and she loves it. It does run slightly big, but not big enough to send back or exchange.

THis alpine jacket can do more than survive a new England blizzard lighter than a heavy carrhart work coat but rugged enough for snow shoveling and using the snowblower not to mention the ski sloaps comfortable insulation on the inside waterproof and plenty of pockets in and out

The Alpine Action Jacket is another quality product from Columbia. Easily keeps me warm and dry in the harshest of the Northeast's winter conditions. Take note of the length of the jacket as it falls well below the waist line even in smaller sizes. The length is somewhere between a jacket and a parka.

Color not true black. Tends to be a little blue/green in color. Sleeves a little thin. Overall good jacket for money.

Overall, this is a nicely made jacket with a lot of practical touches. Tons of pockets allowing you to store all kinds of things including water bottles, snacks, gloves, etc. Most importantly, it keeps you warm at low temps. I took away one star because it was not as waterproof as I expected. I used this at Whistler on a mixed rainy / snowy day, and it absorbed a lot of water. It made for a very uncomfortable experience.

everithing looks good in thus jackets. I am happy with this purshased. the only issue may be the size is little bigger what I thought. But it is worth it.

My girlfriend purchased this jacket for me as a christmas gift. I order a new Columbia jacket every year and it seems as though the size for this jacket is different from prior years. I always order a large and this one is just a little bigger then all the larges I have ordered in the past. I am 5 foot 11 inches and weigh 180 pounds. We live in Minnesota and it can get really cold. The last two weeks we have had a high temp. of -10 with the coldest temp getting below -20. It is a little big on me but, while wearing it with a hooded sweatshirt it fits right. It keeps warm and the detachable hood is great! If it is warm out the hood can be easily removed and vice versa. The color is outstanding and the cuffs on the sleeves help to keep the wind out on cold nights. I would suggest buying this jacket but try ordering one size smaller then what you would normally wear.

I typically wear medium but on the thicker side. This jacket must be meant to layer underneath because the Medium is quite roomy, a bit more than comfortable. The inside pocket's zipper got caught on the fabric (user error i suppose) but the zipper then split. I may have to take it back as a defect. Less warm than I was hoping now that I've experienced single digit temps with wind. Perhaps they do intend us to layer underneath and not rely too much on the coat's insulation.

I bought this jacket for my husband and it has already earned its keep. It is well made with an excellent fit (he can comfortably layer and not feel confined) and has provided the level of protection from the elements that we were looking for. My husband is warm, dry and protected as he skis and hikes during our frigid winters. The only way this jacket could be better is if it came in the official OU colors- his words not mine. :)

Great look, fabric and fit. In two weeks I gone a use it for ski, but rigth now feels really warm!!!

True to size, light and warm

Good looking jacket. Comfortable wear. Has useful features of typical ski jacket. Room for improvement: When zipped up all the way, it rubbed uncomfortably against lower part of face. And, no insulation in the sleeves. Thanks

I used it for a walk in 38* weather and it was warm and comfortable. Then I went skiing and was warm throughout the mountain and surprisingly I didn't have to take the jacket off when we returned for lunch at the lodge - that's when you usually sweat off the slopes. That was very nice to experience and it really proves the claim of being "breathable". The only thing I didn't really like is that the chest area is not very fitted and since I'm thin it leaves a bit of space.

It's one of the best winter wears but this one turned out to be a bit large and I had to return it.

If I didn't know any better I'd say it was made of Down.

I needed a "shell" type jacket for skiing. I wear a shirt, and ski vest, just needed something to go over those- not heavy or bulky. This worked perfect. Sleeves have elastic sleeves inside that prevent snow from getting in. Nice pockets, very functional. I would buy it again.

Bought this jacket for my husband for Christmas. Based on reviews, I bought him a Medium although he normally wears a Large. It fits but is tight at the hips. He says it is really not that warm - which was surprising because my daughter has an omni heat jacket and is always warm in it - but hers is a 2-in-1 jacket. This jacket is very thin. It seems that it is only warm if you are doing physical activity like shoveling snow - not just wearing it when walking, etc. Considered returning it, but he wants to keep it.

I really like this jacket. It is warm and functional. I gave it 4 stars because for a jacket like this it really should have pit zips. Why not Columbia??? Otherwise the jacket has all the needed items, like a powder skirt, waterproof, good hood, pass pocket on the arm, decent number of pockets, etc.
