This is a great coat. Have used it numerous mornings where the temperatures have been 20-32 degrees with just a t shirt on underneath and have been fine for 30 mins +. Have not used it skiing yet but is a very lightweight coat with great features. Love the wrist cuffs to prevent snow from getting in sleeves. Can easily later with this coat as well

This was a gift for my son who is frequently out in the weather while utilizing the public transportation system in Portland, OR. He love this coat! It's not bulky, keeps him warm, repels the rain, and is overall just what he needed.

This Jacket does everything you need it too plus some. I found a hidden pocket on my sleeve which works perfect for these new card reading systems a lot of the mountains are using at the lift gates now.
Keeps you warm and well protected, and it's very stylish.

I needed a winter coat so I started by looking at down and synthetic down coats. Problem is if they get wet it's game over in terms of keeping you warm. This coat is different. There's a waterproof outside layer together with an insulated inside layer. It's warm and has tons of nice touches including powder sleeves, an inside zip pocket, fleece collar, removable hood and so on. It's like someone actually gave some thought to what should be in a coat--rather than just dashing something together. This is my first Columbia product but it won't be my last.

This jacket is lightweight and warm. I wore it in windy, 20 degree Fahrenheit temperatures, without experiencing any chills. The jacket also does a great job in keeping out the rain. Their are plenty of pockets, for gloves, tissues, cellphone, etc. I find the jacket to be a little to warm, in temperatures above 45 Fahrenheit, when active.

We purchased this for our son as a gift. He works outside in inclement weather and has nothing but good things to say about the quality of workmanship, fit and of course it keeps him warm and dry in the worst of weather. He absolutely loves it!

A beautiful and functional jacket. The snow and rains are here now, so I bought it just in time. I have had many compliments already. A quality product again from Columbia. True to size.

This jacket is great, the makers really had skiing and snowboarding in mind. It is very well fitted and the perfect length. Since I'm about 6'2" a lot of the time jackets run a little short on me which isn't too fun when you're snowboarding in Colorado in negative temperatures! This jacket fits me very well with plenty of length to keep the snow out. It also has an inside stretchy belt that wraps around you on the inside to keep a nice seal from the elements. The omni-tech really works at keeping you warm so don't be fooled by the light weight of this jacket. (On really cold days you still want to layer though.) Plenty of pockets on the inside and outside to store things. Velcro-cuffs great for sealing your glove ends in. Overall this jacket is great for anyone who is a snowboarder/skier or someone that needs a really warm jacket for the outdoors.

I just bought this jacket and it is quite warm! I can't even feel the wind.
Good quality and wide enough to wear other clothes if you need.

Great comfort and warmth for the money. Waterproof too! The collar could be a little shorter.

This jacket performs so well that fewer layers are needed than I've worn with other winter jackets. We've had an unusual number of -20 wind chill days and staying comfortable has been no problem. Pocket space is great. Received compliments on the styling on the first day I wore it. Super buy.

This is a generously cut outer garment. It is highly functional for out of doors use. It is a durable if not rugged out shell fabric with both Omni Heat and insulation built in. It has sleeve cuff and a waist cuff which is designed to keep loose snow out. It is warm and built for layering too. The hood is generous but discretely detaches. All of the internal and external pockets are generous and functional. It covers the hip but is not constrictive. Ideal for skiing especially back country. I bought the Orange option and it will double for field use when hunting upland birds in more severe weather. I am 180# at 5'10" and athletic.

I highly doubted that the weight of this coat would withstand my husband's scrutiny for outerwear during midwest winters. Thus far, he confirms that the coat keeps him warm and dry without complaint. A hood, adjustable wrist widths and waterproof warmth are necessities for shoveling and blowing snow as well as walking outdoors.

I usually do not write reviews however this is the best jacket I've purchased. Being a valet runner and working in all types of weather comfort and durability are important. This jacket lives up to it's claims being wind and waterproof. Tested this jacket with wind speeds of 30-35 mph combined with a steady rain. No problems I remained warm and dry. Jacket has an inner liner which helps retain body temperature. I highly recommend this jacket. Yes it's pricy but you get what you pay for.

Been looking for more a winter type jacket for a while. This fits the bill pretty well. Sizing is a little odd, fits tight around the shoulders and loose in the mid section. Medium would fit perfect in the mid, but I was afraid the shoulders would've been too tight. Not sure why Omni-heat stops at the sleeves. I've had this jacket and a long sleeve t-shirt on in the upper teens with the wind howling and was very comfortable. You could probably get by in short sleeves with this if it was 30 and above. Pretty windproof as well. I tested it by hanging my arm out the window around 30mph, couldn't feel any wind and my arm stayed warm. Hard to believe because the jacket is very thin and light. Only thing I don't like is the main pocket material is not smooth/or brushed so it can snag on your hands. Other than that I have no complaints.

I bought this to ski but Chicagos blizzard hit first. Its is warmer than I ever expected and I stayed completely dry. Fits perfectly with tons of pockets to store everything. Final test will be ice fishing this weekend but it has been great for everything else.

I wore this jacket during winter in Germany, Switzerland, and Massachusetts ( and LA, but that hardy counts ). I did not wear any layers underneath. It was snowing with sub zero temperatures.
- I stayed dry
- My arms and chest were never cold
- The hood worked great to keep snow off my face
- The high collar was perfect with or without a scarf.
- Omni-heat technology works crazy well.
This is by far the best winter coat I have ever owned, and I'm from the Great Lakes region, so I've had a lot of winter coats.
Get it. You won't be disappointed.

My boyfriend is 6'4" and about 150 lbs. He is tall and skinny. He got a large which is kind of baggy on him, but it is the best fit in this jacket. He is use to things not fitting perfectly, so it doesn't bother him much. He LOVES this jacket. It is great for the price!

Its a very light and comfortable jacket. Really feels like you can move around in it without all the bulk of older style jackets but still very warm. Im not sure the omni heat is as revolutionary as claimed but this jacket certainly is warm considering it isnt very thick so you draw your own conclusions. I got the solid black one which looks nice and hides any dirt accumulation which always showed on my last jacket. The snow skirt makes this jacket a useful ski/board jacket but i use it for everyday use. I would recommend this product.

This jacket was a pleasant surprise! I ordered it on a whim, and have been very pleased with its quality and warmth. Since I live in the mountains of northern New England, cold winters require exceptional gear. So far, this jacket has performed admirably! Excellent value for its cost. Highly recommend!
