Wow, these are narrow. I do not have a big calf muscle and they were quite snug with jeans on. I also felt the top of the boot was squeezing the top of my foot. The bottoms reminded me more of a sneaker than a snow boot, so they're going back!

These are very comfortable, warm and of course, cute boots. I plan on using a waterproofing agent to make sure they do keep the water out in winter. For deep snow cover I'll probably just use my Hunter Boots (with their warm inner liner). I am a 7.5 and ordered the 7 based on other reviews. They fit perfectly except for the width around the ankle. I have slim feet and calves and they feel great with thick warm socks and leggings.

I wore these boots every day for a week in Iceland and they are great! They are a little wide in the toe box, but since I have wide feet I consider that a bonus. The foot area is waterproof but the felt part is not. I did some walking around in a foot or so of snow and that wasn't an issue for me, but I could see the felt getting wet and uncomfortable if you were out there sledding or something. They were moderately grippy on ice. These boots were great for city walking even in falling snow and kept my feet toasty all the time, and held up well during a muddy farm excursion. I never felt cold in these boots, even after several hours outdoors. And (for winter boots) they are fashionable enough to pair with a skirt and tights.
