Good width for comfortable fit. Not much traction from soles. Laces extremely long. Cushioned.

I really appreciated the nice wide fit of this shoe. I found it charming in its grey simplicity. But is has a problem with the rounded toe box that did not work for me. Because my toes are not long all that extra space in front was wasted. But most critically, when I roll off the toe at the end of my stride the toe box bends in across my toes and the sharp bend is not comfortable. I do not have this problem with the more pointed normal style. Maybe it works for people with really long toes, I don't know, but it did not work for me and I had to return them. I bought these because of the square shape of the toe box, while not the most attractive look they provide plenty of room for toes. I wish they had more of a memory foam insole though. Overall they are comfortable for walking and I would recommend them.

I have purchased New Balance footwear for many years. They have always given me the perfect support that I need for my arch. These did not have the support in the correct area for my foot. I removed the insole and replaced it with Dr. Scholl orthotics and they were perfect! I love the look of them and the toe of this shoe is plenty roomy for your toes!

Super nice and comfy for those of us with wide feet. That is why I buy almost entirely New Balances for work as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital. I can work all day without tired sore feet at the end of the day!. Do wish that the walking-shoe lines came in more fun colors like the running shoes . . . we walkers are fun people too.

I returned them, but would recommend them to any one with wide feet. These were well made attractive athletic shoes. However, the toe bed was way to wide for my fairly average foot. My husband has EEE feet, now I know why he always buys New Balance.

A good shoe if you need a full cut toe box, for hammer toes or bunions. I also needed the straight strike path sole since my feet tend to pronate. arch support and cushioning are fair. I did add a low insert, but a little more heel padding would make it a 5 star shoe. light weight, color goes with everything.

I am wearing these shoes for the first time and find that they fit well, especially since I got a half size larger as recommended by others. My bunion isn't complaining a bit and that is a major success. I wish that the bed of the shoe were more cushioned. If it were, I would have rated with 5 stars. As a result I have given it 4 stars.

I wish it came in a 4E. I would like more toe box room for orthotics.

The toe box gives lots of wiggle room. I bought it a 1/2 size bigger based on other reviews and it is a bit roomy in length but not bad. The width is just right, which is often not the case in wide shoes. Would have loved more cushioning in the sole but the cushioning around the collar of the shoe is very good.

These were good looking shoes but were returned because they were just too big. The 9 Wide is considerably longer than other New Balance walking shoes Bean sells. I kept the Country Walkers, which fit better.

Shoes were comfortable on first wearing, but I wish I had ordered a full size larger rather than just 1/2 size. I like the rounded toe and deeper toe box.

The New Balance shoes are very nice looking. I wish they fit my crazy hard-to-fit surgery ridden feet. I ordered them in my usual size in a Wide width. The forefoot area fit great but no matter how I tied them, the heels fell off my feet. I do not think a medium width would fit my feet. I had to return them. Thank you LLBean for allowing me to try these shoes and guarantee my satisfaction.

I love the NB Walker 877 fit. LL Bean carries in wide! In great colors, but they run out of colors fast... I'd buy more, but sadly they aren't available.. The laces are really long. I have to double knot them which I don't like. Can't find replacement laces in light blue....

This is a good shoe. The design is nice without looking too busy. The color is more gray than blue. It's light and easy to pack for traveling. The first pair that I ordered (from another supplier) was too short. I ordered the next size up from L.L.Bean and the length is perfect. There's plenty of room in the toe box, plenty. After my first two-mile walk I found the shoe needed more padding in the ball of the foot. This was remedied with a double-thick foam insert. The shoes are very comfortable now. Using the top lace-hole allows the lace to ride on the ankle, not the tongue which is rather short for a New Balance shoe. Caution: The sole of the shoe can be slick when walking on a wet pavement that is made of, say, rounded pebbles, ceramic tile or brick. I would happily buy this shoe again. Walk on!
