These shoes don't seem as sturdy as previous iterations. They are lightweight, but they don't feel as though they have the heft needed to last for more than a few months of daily use. We'll see.

Comfortable light shoe good for temps above 40,not good in wet or rainy conditions though. My last few pairs of sneakers came apart at the toe area;these seem designed so that won't happen

Shoes are ok but not worth the money. Feels like there is no support or padding under your feet. I’d rather walk around barefoot.

First, shoes are no longer assembled in the USA. Second, the tongue is shorter than it should be. When you use the last lacing hole on the shoe, the laces will cut across your ankle unless carefully reposition them on the remaining piece of the tongue. Not the world's best product. However, did order another pair because my size seems to be in great demand and I keep one pair for supply

Fall Winter I wear NB928v3 as a walking shoe. The 928 has leather/;leather like upper that doesn't breath. I bought this 877 shoe because it is advertised as a walking shoe and has a mesh upper and roomy toe box for my foot with a Morton toe. The shoe doesn't have as much support as the 928. The 877 mid-sole feels thin and not as much cushion for long walks. A mile is about as far as I want to go in them. The mesh upper makes this a good shoe for casual Summer wear not for long walks.

These just weren't comfortable and didn't have enough arch support.

The toe box was too wide and the medium width is what I normally wear. I've been wearing Brooks running shoes that fit sorta like a glove. The difference was a bit like Speedo vs. baggy boxers.

The shoe was bought online without trying them on and I should know better than to do that. Great looking shoe and I liked the quality, but, my foot needs more arch support than what this shoe offered. I love my New Balance shoes, I will just need to keep wearing the same model and not try something new. Keep up the great work NB!!

I purchased these online, so therefor I did not have the chance to wear them before buying. The insole that came with them was just a light foam, did not provide much cushion and my feet hurt within only a few minutes. I replaced them with a gel memory foam insert and they are absolutely great now. Walked over 20k steps today at a theme park and my feet are great!

Length seems true to size. Width was more narrow than the 4e I expected from New Balance. It has virtually no arch support which is odd in a walking shoe. It is light and well made but only time will tell how comfortable it will be on hikes and the durability of the shoe.

Toe box is very roomy but I didn't think it made for a "clown shoe" like some reviewers did. I ordered a 12 4E which is my normal size but had to return for a 11.5 4E which I think should be just right. I really liked the feel of the shoe. Can't say enough about the quickness and ease of dealing with the folks at Zappos. Has to be one of the best managed mail order companies out there.

The shoe fit OK but you can tell by both the appearance and felling that more space has been allocated to the toe region. They are not a very attractive shoe the toe is rounded much more than my previous MW659BG's which I loved to death only they stopped making them. I wore the new shoes around the house for a couple hours and I am boarder line "Do I want to send them back" problem is I spent hours looking through Zappos inventory and can't find anything as attractive and less "NEW BALANCE" obtrusive. The big "N" does not look near as design-worthy as the smaller "N" toward the rear of the shoe.
I'd also recommend:
I like New Balance when I can find a "NON FOAM" good style with rich yet conservative coloring

Ugliest shoe ever, but my husband says they are very comfortable. He wears them for walks, but not out in public.

Boy, are these shoes ugly. The photos online don't give a true sense of how ugly they are. If you look up "old man sneakers" in the dictionary, these shoes might be pictured. Other than that, they're pretty comfortable, which one would expect from a product labeled walking shoes. I find New Balance doesn't have much arch support and these follow the same mold.

originally ordered the shoe in a 10...Overall fit felt good, but the big toe was right at the end of the shoe.. Exchanged for a 10.5 and found the overall fit to be too loose. Not terrible but just didn't feel comfortable as a shoe 1/2 size too big probably should feel.. I returned these also and purchased the Drew Surge.. I have owned probably 15pairs of New Balance shoes over the past many years and have NEVER had a fit problem with any of them... After thinking about it I actually believe the original 10 I ordered was perhaps mislabeled somewhere along the way since the 10.5 felt like a 10.5 and was just too big. I'm sure the next running, walking shoe I order will be New Balance again but just didn't get along well with this order. Zappo's handled the entire transaction marvelously.. They are really a great company to deal with..

shoe felt great when I put it on but noticed the big toe was right at the end of the toe box...Not good... called and have a 1/2 size larger being sent to replace these. Like the look and feel of the shoe otherwise and hope the larger size will fit the bill. If not Zappos is great about returns.

It’s an OK walking shoe that, at least for me, was much wider than I am used to for the same size...including every other New Balance and ASICS I own. I had to go from an EE to a D to get a fit that felt like all my other EE sneakers. What really bothers me about these and what really detracts from my rating is the thin unremovable inner sole...if you are going to make a thin inner sole then make it removable so the CUSTOMER has the option to substitute a replacement inner sole. I’ll keep them and give them a try but I think I should stick with ASICS that I’ve mostly worn forever...much more cushioning and comfortable.

I always buy New Balance gym shoes. They always feel and fit great. I just got my first pair of walking shoes from New Balance. Again the fit great and very comfortable just like my past purchases. I do notice a slight difference from my left and right shoe in the arch. I won’t know how they really feel until I get a couple of miles on them. But so far they feel fine but if you looking for a good looking shoe this is not the pair. You have to make the decision if it’s better to look good than to feel good. Stay tuned I will update the review next week.

Shoes are okay looking, fit reasonably well, and plenty of room in toe box. As soon as I had them on the break across the toes was a bit pinching/evident. Thought it might improve over a couple of weeks, and they did. Unfortunately the arch support is mediocre, and the toe break line on top is occasionally uncomfortable still. I will not buy another pair of these, and I would not recommend them. At $85 I feel like these are not worth it.

Don't buy these if looks are important to you at all. The toe of the shoe is not stylish at all and looks way worse than the picture. They are very comfortable though, and one of the few shoes that come in a 4E size that's extremely wide.

Inner lining at the heel wears out in less than a year. Other than that it is a good walking show.

Ugliest, old man looking shoes, ever. Very duckbilled looking. The toe box is huge. If you want toe room, this is your shoe. I wouldn't mind so much, but the "N" looks like a sticker a 3 year glued on, and the sole is really outdated in style. My husband said these were the most comfortable of the 4 pairs of New Balance sneakers we ordered, but he promised to only wear them on walks around the neighborhood, and not wear them when we go out in public.
