These shoes are just what I have been looking for. They're comfortable, light-weight, and appear to be wearing well. I rated them a 4 instead of a 5 because the suede trim is easily marked if you accidentally brush up against a tire on your car, which I did the first time I wore them.

I did follow other's recommendations in the reviews, and buy a 1/2 size bigger, which is correct. They fit ok on the length of bottom, and width. Because they're a little big on top, I have to lace up tightly to keep them from sliding around on top. I walk 3.3 miles 4x week in them, but will not be purchasing again. Too complicated a purchase..

The size and fit for these is fine. They let air in while you're walking so they don't get hit. However, I bought these because I walk a lot. The description said they had a durable outsole, but it only lasted around 7 months. I bought the NB 608's before this and they lasted a full year. So if you do a lot of walking they are a better choice.

Shoe / sneaker was of soft mesh mtl. Comfortable wearing as casual footware, (indoors) I expected more lateral support from a quality walking shoe. They felt too big all around. Perhaps an ortho insert would improve the fit and feel. Plenty of room for one.

I found the toe box too "boxy". They do provide enough toe room, but don't have the look of a sneaker. More of an "old guy" look, (which I am). The box wrinkles with each step. Not to my taste.

Shoe on the right foot put a blister on my heel on the first walk. I like the fit, but not the rub. I think it will work out. Put band aid on and have walked once since and no problem.

I was trying to find the right words, but found another reviewer's comments instead:
On June 9, 2022, William MG wrote: "New Balance 877 walking shoes purchase to replace worn version of same. Well-built shoes, but tongue is too short, necessitating extra care in lacing to avoid uppermost portion from slipping off the tongue and onto the foot. Also, the laces are about 10 inches too long and must be tucked in between shoe and foot,..." .
These are my favorite walking shoes. I am on my 5th pair. Pleae, LL BEAN, sort this problem out with the manufacturer before I buy my next pair.

This was weird but there is a place on top of the shoe that, when I'd walk, dug into the top of my foot. Great cushion but could only walk short distances before I'd experience discomfort.

This shoe just doen't do things right. The heaviest and bulkiest padding is around your ankle; the toe is cramped and uncomfortable. I sent them back.

Also, laces are about 10 inches too long and must be tucked in between shoe and foot. I have to cut that much out the center of each lace, tie the cut ends together, and string laces again.
