This is my second pair. Like most other shoe manufacturers, New Balance doesn't have the full spectrum of width sizes that were available years ago but as an every day shoe for walking they are good all year around (all temperatures sans snow).

shows stains easily in this swede finish. If they were finished leather as my other new balance walkers they could be cared for much easier.

I usually buy a shoe that has motion control and the support. This is the first time I purchased a shoe that could give me comfort for just exercise in the home. New Balance shoes are great shoes and I will continue to purchase for that reason.

For whatever reason, New Balance has always seemed to make their shoes slightly smaller than most other shoe makers. Many retailers urge their customers to always buy their shoes a half size larger than you normally wear. I can't do that because I normally wear size 15 and New Balance (and no other brand I am aware of) doesn't make a 15 1/2. I decided to try the 877s because they have a round toe box instead of the pointy ones. I lucked out because they fit.The shoes are very comfortable. new Balance has greatly improved the quality of their insole since I last tried to wear a pair of their shoes. The last once were like a very thin strip of hard foam. These have nice support. I like them.

Very comfortable. I buy New Balance all he time and 7.5 M always fit well. I had to exchange the 7.5's I ordered first for 8 and they fit as expected. Your associate who handled the 7.5 transaction was very good. I am new to Zappos and he made it easy. The associate who handled the exchange did everything - I just listened, said thank you, and hung up. The size 8's came in two days - unbelievable!

I had heard good things about the New Balance 877, and now that I have a pair I agree. For my particular feet, however, the increased arch support of the SAS Journey Mesh shoes (similar construction, also American-made) is worth the extra money.

I bought these for my college-aged son who has a EE foot and is very particular about how comfortable shoes are. Neither of us were thrilled with the sneaker's looks (the materials looks kind of like nylon-ish) and the style is very rectangle-toed and verging on "old-man-power-walking-at-the-mall" looking). However, these were the most comfortable of all the sneakers my son tried, so he's sticking with them. I also thought the price was very reasonable. The shoe has more of a flat sole, compared to the shoes with sides that taper in a bit or have insoles that go up on the side, and this was most important for my comfort-oriented son.

Finally a walking shoe that breathes!! Just the right mix of mesh (for air) and leather (for support). Memo to the competition: please stop making sweaty, all leather walking shoes. Another great thing is the wide toe box. Negatives are the tongue was made too short (if you lace to the top as I do) so it digs into my instep. Also, they are too stiff. I do see they built flex grooves into the sole, but they still don't bend. A neutral walking shoe should be flexible, not stiff.

My local retailers are overflowing with running shoes but have precious few walking shoes. So was forced online. The 877 appears well made and they breathe! There is room for improvement though. They run narrower than other 2Es and do look dowdy. The tongue is way short if you lace to the top of the shoe which causes it to dig into the instep. And the heel counter appears almost nonexistent. Lastly, as a walker I was looking for a rounded/beveled heel. Not much bevel to this shoe. May still keep them just because for all their faults the other shoe manufacturers have basically abandoned the walking shoe market. So there's little competition for this shoe.

I have only worn these a few days but they are very comfortable so far. I have a narrow foot and the SL-2 last has a wide toe box but is easy on my sensitive diabetic feet. I hope they are more durable than other New Balance shoes I've owned. New Balance's quality and durability has really declined in recent years. However, they make the most comfortable shoes for my feet. I wish there were more shoes available with the SL-1 last.

Very comfortable walkers, especially for the price but they seem to run big. If they hold up over time and I order another pair I will try a 1/2 size smaller next time.

Purchased these walkers online as the local retailers don't seem to carry anything other than running shoes, and our very own New Balance store closed. Overall the walkers are very comfortable, with an adequate toe box. However, I wouldn't have purchased them if I would have seen how they looked looking down at them. There are only two pictures on the website, and neither show the "view from above". Next time I will either (1) buy a running shoe for walking from a brick and mortar retailer that I can see and feel or (2) I'll leave the New Balance brand for some other athletic shoe brand.

Yes the toes are a bit wide, which makes them comfortable, if not 'stylish'. I'm happy with them. Don't know how long they'll last, but so far so good.

I have had foot and leg pain and had been to see a podiatrist. So far these shoes have good arch and heel support. The only reason I didn't give it a 5star rating is because I haven't really put them to the 4 mile test around the neighborhood. So far on the treadmill, not much foot pain. I did buy a half size larger as recommended.

I chose this shoe mostly for biking. I don't use specialized biking shoes; course, it works well for that. I also walk for an hour or more daily, and this shoe is comfortable on pavement and off-road. I chose it for style and price. I like the flashy colors which separate it from my everyday darker shoes. The price was moderate. I also chose it because it comes in 4E which is very important. It seems a little narrow compared to my other New Balance 4E shoes, but it is comfortable enough.

Very good walking shoes. My only comment is that they run a bit big, both length and width, so if you order your usual size as I did you will need an insert or heavier socks. That said, I would not recommend getting the next size down because they don't run that big.

Only had these shoes a couple weeks so not many miles on 'em yet. I have never bought "walking" shoes so these are a little different. I wear a full foot orthotic for arch support and they fit fine in these shoes. The feel is indeed more suited to walking so I expect they will do fine as most New Balance shoes do for me. They were true to size - I wear a 15 and have a very generous toe box. Zappos again provided great service with these shoes arriving the next day after my order. New Balance shoes have been a favorite of mine for decades. I try others but keep coming back.

I bought these walking shoes for the purpose described: short 2-3 miles) walks in the neighborhood. Also, great for casual wear and informal gatherings. Wide toe box is comfortable and supportive.

Comfortable with decent ankle and arch support. Very comfortable walking shoe. Only negative is the lace length is excessive. Even with laces double knotted, I caught myself tripping on them. Replaced with shorter laces and love the shoes.
