I have been running in Altra shoes for a while now. I had the Altra Torin 1.0 and ran them into the ground (lots of miles!), and now after a month or so in the Torin 1.5, I can say these are even better. They are so comfortable! I will say, I like a little more arch support than these offer, so I use a Dr Scholl's active insole in them instead of the insole they come with. But that's just me and my weird feet. They are comfortable right out of the box. I log about 35-40 miles per week in them and they always feel great! My only gripe is they are not very attractive. They're not hideous or anything, but they don't have the kind of fun style as Nike or Saucony running shoes tend to have. I would love to see these in more colors. I usually wear an 8.5 in other running shoes (7.5 in street shoes), and I got an 8.5 in this one and it was great.

I was looking for a wide toe box. My big toe is longer than my other toes, and so many shoes seem to round out in that area, cramping my toe. I tried the Paradigm, Repetition, and Intuition 2, but the Torin 1.5 was most comfortable for me. I have high arches, and I'm recovering from a partial tear in a tendon. I've been wearing the Torins for about a month mainly for walking and regular errands, and they make my feet feel good. My podiatrist said he preferred a shoe with an elevated heel, but he was open to the idea of these. My chiropractor thinks my shoes might be helping with my back. I do have to stretch my calves and Achilles daily to keep them from getting too tight. I wear an 11.5 and the 12s fit comfortably.

This shoe is so different from the same brand, but different style. I bought two sizes of the "Repetition", the size 9.5 was just a tad too short, the size 10 just a tad too long. The arch support in this shoe is just right, I love the wide and roomy (high) toe box. Just had Hallux Limitus surgery, Chielectomy and osteotomy decompression of big toe joint and this shoe is just perfect for me, now in my 8th week recovery.

These are super comfortable running shoes! I've done a few 5-7 mile runs in these and I have had no trouble with sore feet/ankles/shins/etc. They have more cushioning than my Altra Intuition 1.5 and the ride is stiffer than my nike free 3.0. They get pretty good traction on wet and dry pavement but can get slippery in snow/ice. I have narrow heels and wide forefeet and Altra are one of the few brands that fit my feet well. I have really high arches and I find the arch support adequate. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 in running shoes and an 8.5 fits me perfect. I wish they came in more colors because I would definitely buy more pairs if they did.

I absolutely love these shoes! I went and tried them on in a store when getting fitted for a track running shoe, the only problem with them for me is, my arch collapses when I run and my ankle rolls inward. These shoes need some more stability in my opinion. I bought them for only walking. They are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever had! I have extremely wide feet with a history of purchasing shoes that are 4E wide or a couple sizes too big, with the wide toe box, I got my correct size and it feels amazing. I have had these shoes for a couple of weeks and use them on my multi mile walk multiple times a week. One thing about them that I do not like is that they are not attractive. Most people my age are wearing the newest and coolest shoes and I am stuck in these. They do not have the same appeal as Nike Free Runs (which ruin your knees), Adidas Blade Runner shoes, Under Armor, or any of the cool brands. Otherwise, I love how comfortable they are!

I can't believe this shoe! I have been suffering from bunions and burning forefoot for almost a year. I am a runner and have had to go from running 5-8 miles several times a week to walking 3, I couldn't take the pain. After going through at least 12 pairs of shoes (thank goodness for Zappos) I found these! We just came back from 2 weeks in Europe...walking everywhere...no pain! I ran in them today...no pain! I did put in athletic Dr Scholls for added comfort.

These shoes are the best shoes I have ever worn! My feet feel amazing! I have a wider foot than the average woman and these shoes help me run more natural! My feet don't hurt when I am done running! I have PRd and podiumed wearing these shoes!

Very good shoe. I have been looking for a replacement for my Brooks PF 1. (The 2 and 3 do not work for me). Anyway, this shoe just may be it for me. With minimal break-in time I was able to walk 20 miles in one day with this Altra Torin 1.5 and I will continue to wear them for my high mile walks. Altra Torin 1.5 works for me. I always order my walking shoe 1 size larger than my street shoe and did the same with this shoe.

Love these shoes. I'm a newer runner. My first pair of running shoes were Merrell Gloves, but they were a little tight on my fatty toes and too flexible. I wanted a little support and cushion, while not having big clunkers so that I could start off my running habit with good mid foot strikes. Anyways, love 'em.

These shoes rock! I can't tell you how many pairs I've bought that I can't wear, because my feet hurt when I try and exercise in them. I have had surgery for hallux limitus and rigidus on both feet, and now need a VERY big toe box. Finding shoes to exercise in has been impossible. Not any more! I waited to write this until I had them a few weeks, and they are still as comfortable as can be. Nicely cushioned and almost like being barefoot. Love, love, love them!

I'm very happy with these shoes. I have a wide forefoot and bunions and absolutely need a shoe with a very wide toe box, but snug elsewhere. These are perfect, will be buying more of this same brand!

I love, love, love the Torin 1.5. After dealing with a foot injury for the past 10 months, it is the only shoe (running or otherwise) that I can wear comfortably besides flip flops. They have been a lifesaver. Thank you Altra for developing a shoe that is so kind to my feet. I am now a devoted customer.

Great walking shoe. Love the zero drop heel. I am used to Earth shoes so I had no break-in period. Would recommend a break-in period for those not used to negative or flat heel. Kind of goofy looking in the toe area because of the wideness there. Wonderful feeling to be able to spread toes and not have them squashed together. I have a narrow foot and these fit great. Hard to find narrow athletic shoes. These are made for a woman's foot not just sized down from a man's. Would recommend getting a half size longer than regular size. Will definitely buy again.

I normally wear an 8 1/2 in running shoes and for these I also wear an 8 1/2. I tried on three different sizes to know for sure. I cannot say how much I love these shoes. They are the most comfortable running shoe I have ever tried. I love the foot shaped toe box and how it allows for the space my toes need to be comfortable when I am running. There is plenty of cushioning for a comfortable run. When I am done with my run I am not in any hurry to toss off my shoes, they are that comfortable. I have the black with pink and orange.

I didn't want to review these until I got some miles in them. They have changed my running for the better. I was having hip issues and some foot pain due to a bunion. I have been increase my mileage without pain. I am so grateful for my Altras!

Wow! These felt like slippers. So comfy I bought another pair. So much toe room. No seams in the toe box mean no rubbing. I have hallux limitus and wear orthotics. No need for orthotics with these. I love being able to use my total foot function without pain. My shins and calves are getting a good workout from the zero gravity. Perfect amount of cushioning. Love them!

I marked runs full size smaller because that was my only option. In reality, I wear an 8 street shoe and need a 9.5 in this shoe. I still love them and I will say that I don't have any more plantar fasciitis since switching to zero rise shoes as much as possible.

This is my second pair of Altras. Buy a full size larger as they are very short in length. I have bunions and problem feet, but these are extremely comfortable. They come with an insert, but I added another for additional cushioning. For the first couple of days I had some minor calf pain, otherwise no issues as I became more accustomed to the shoes. I use them for trail walking, not running.

Really enjoying this shoe! Previously loved Mizuno Wave riders, Wave Creations. Tried the new Nimbus - hated it. The cushioning in the Altra is great, and the switch to zero drop hasn't been too difficult. But I also don't have a heel strike. LOVE the roomier toe box - shoe feels great at the beginning and end of a run! I normally wear an 11, and I got the Altras in an 11. But my hubby had to size up half a size for his Altras - so be prepared for returns. Seriously great runner - won't go back to the others. The look of the shoe is hmmm....different. But you forget the silly style once you start running. Toe off on these is significant - gave me a spring in my step!

I am so excited about finding this shoe. I didn't think I would ever be able to find a tennis type shoe that was shaped like my foot and didn't narrow at the toe! I feel like I have the best of both worlds, a tennis shoe that fits like a Birkenstock. I love the fun colors and they are adorable! My feet and my body say thank you!

I'm using these as weekend hiking shoes. I ordered them since I need a wide toebox especially when I wear wool socks. I couldn't find any hiking shoes that were wide enough but these do the trick. Out of all the Altra footwear I tried these ones have the most room in the toebox without any irritating seams. I didn't have any trouble adjusting to the zero drop since I walk barefoot a lot. The Insoles could definitely have a little bit more support.

Liked the shoe but the colors were so much brighter than pictured; the upper was medium chartreuse and the trim was screaming blue. Returned because of color.

I wear a size 12 in running shoes (Saucony and New Balance, Hoka), so I was excited to see that Altra also has my size. Unfortunately, they run a bit small and my toes hit the front, so I will be returning them. Too bad, because they seemed pretty comfortable otherwise!

These shoes are really comfortable. They were recommended to me via a friend who also suffers from achilles problems. They are one of the few sneakers that hasn't caused me foot pain by the end of the day. I'm not a runner, even though they are designed for running. I have worn them to aerobics class and find them to be a bit too "heavy" and clumsy. But for everyday use, I would highly recommend them. I ordered several sizes because many said that they ran small. I found them to be true to size (I wear a 10).
