These shows are very comfortable. Width size, foot size are true to size. I have a wide foot and these shoes are wide enough for all day wear. I like to wear a half size bigger than my size. I wear size 12 comfortably but I always get a 1/2 size bigger. I wear Altra shoes because the shoe design is shaped into a true foot shape. Our feet are not tapered like many shoe designers manufacture their shoes. A+ for this shoe.

This is the first online review I have ever written and the main reason is because I love these shoes. I have suffered from a stubborn bout of Plantar Fasciitis for over 2 years now. To date these shoes have proven to be the most comfortable. The arches are not that high so it allows my plantar fascia to stretch throughout the day. This shoe may not be for everyone, but it is the shoe for me!

The "Everyday" followed my discovery of Altra's running shoes after a long, painful recovery from plantar fasciitis. I needed a more "normal" looking shoe instead of "trainers," as the Brits term them, while still provided with the support and comfort of all Altra's. I am greatly satisfied and now hope that Altra will keep producing them for the rest of my life!

I ordered a pair of these in the hopes that they would help me be at least "semi-comfortable" while walking. I have a Morton's neuroma on my right foot. These shoes have changed my life. I tried everything before this, running shoes, waling shoes, cheap shoes, expensive shoes, foam and gel shoe inserts from all the major manufactures, but nothing worked until I got these.
My only complaint is that I wish they had a them in black, not just gray.
Come on Altara, throw me a bone, and make a black set.

These are very nice shoes, very comfortable and quite helpful with my knee problems. a good choice when I need a little dressier shoe than the Altra Zero Drop sports styles. Just be sure to buy a full size bigger than what you get with other brands. Do that, and they're great. My only issue, is why the heck grey and not black or brown? Altra Zero does these in black or brown and I'm ordering another pair.

After reading that the shoe runs a bit small, I ordered a half size bigger than what I usually wear, and had to exchange them for a pair a full size larger.
Once in the proper fit, the shoes are great. I have a wide foot that is widest towards the toes and these shoes have plenty of room towards the toes. They're comfortable and very light.

My foot is a bit wide and I love, love, love the room for my toes. Do your feet a favor and get a shoe that has a FLAT sole with NO heel and room for your toes. Your toes and feet will thank you. I work in a hospital and on my feet alot, sometimes all day. These are the most comfortable and dressy casual shoes I've ever found. I'll be back for more when I wear these out! Thanks Altra!

Love the comfort.I work on my feet all day. Had been experiencing daily pain in the ball of both feet. Since my first day of wearing them the pain is gone. I also bought Altra Running shoes and love them as well. So happy with my purchase, thank you Altra!

I usually wear 7, had to get a 8 in these but they were wide enough through the metatarsals, just barely snug. Roomy at the toe. I don't run but these are very comfortable for standing long hours at work. I have Morton's neuroma and can get through a 12-hour shift with no pain with these.

Great shoe if you are a fan of low-heel-drop shoes but need a little more support than the real minimalist or "barefoot" style shoes. I have been wearing V1 of the Instinct in black as my daily walking shoe so was thrilled when Altra actually came out with a walking shoe using the same design. Was also smart of them to include a rubber border along the front of the toe box and on the back of the heel. I agree with others who want a version in black, because that color is more versatile and can even be worn with more formal attire. Might need to go up half a size from what you normally wear for an Altra running shoe.

These are great shoes. Very comfortable and light weight. I forget that I am even wearing shoes at time. I also love the fact that theses are the same as my running shoes other than the fact that I can wear them to church or for a semi-formal outing.

I love the Instinct Everyday shoes. I wear them "everyday" and I am now so spoiled by them I have a hard time wearing "normal" shoes. My only complaint is that I wish they would offer the Everyday shoe in different (but not wild) colors, like dark brown and cordovan.

These shoes at times advertised as "sport shoes" could double as orthopedic shoes. These naturally blend with the contour of my feet, allowing ease of movement in comfort, and foot stability. For me this is important due to left ankle bone spurs. Surprisingly pleased!

The most comfortable pair of shoes for a plantar fasciitis sufferer. These fit like a dream. I'm a 6"6, 270 teacher who is on his feet all day. Initially, I thought these were a bit snug until I realized that any other pair of shoes I've been wearing have likely been slightly on the large side. This shoe supports my foot in ways I hadn't realized I'd been missing. I've tried various inserts and shoes with soft, supportive beds, but none have provided me this much comfort. Strongly recommended. I do wish there were more "semi formal" shoes from this brand. Kind regards.

I bought these based on the "zero drop" claim. They fit a little smaller than normal but are very comfortable, and the zero drop gives me a walk that seems close to the way feet are supposed to work. It does take a few days to get accustomed to the new foot position, though, but it's well worth it.

Starting running in Altra shoes and now other shoes aren't comfortable. This is my second pair of these. I've done Resturant work and other jobs where I'm on my feet for 12 hrs and my feet, legs, and body have felt good all day. The only reason the're not 5 stars is they could be a little more durable. The comfort makes them worth it though!

They look better in person that they do on the website.
I've been running in low drop (4mm) shoes for years and was super glad to be able to wear low drop shoes for day to day/work also. Overall I like them and would recommend them.
Having said that, I have 2 nits against the shoes:
1) One of the tongues had a rough seam. I gave it a couple of days to soften up but it was still causing a rub spot on the top of my foot. I made some "adjustments" with a pair of manicuring scissors and was able to resolve the problem. It bugs me that for $130, these didn't have better QC checks on them.
2) If you don't get the lacing tight, the wide toebox allows your foot to slide forward and bump your toes at the end. Once they break in, this is less of an issue. But if you like to wear your laces loose, be warned.

I like them. I'm keeping them for when I don't want to wear running shoes. BUT these are overpriced at $130. They should be no more than $100.

These are terrific shoes in a nice style, but they are half a size too small. My toes bump against the end of the toe box. I need a size 7½, unfortunately, these shoes are not offered in a half size for 7 - only for sizes 8 and above. I even tried the women's shoe equivalent of these (I am a female), but that one was too ugly for my taste, plus the tongue was stiff, cutting into my tendon. I will have to keep this pair, I guess.

I got these for my husband because he has a hard time finding shoes that are wide in the toe but normal in the heel. He also needs a shoe low in the ankle area. These fit the bill, but did not fit the foot. I have the women's version of these shoes; they are fabulously comfortable. However, both the women's and men's run about a full size smaller than we normally wear.

Very comfortable shoes, reminds me of Hush Puppies from days gone bye. They could use a better isle with a bit of cushion as the standard ones are paper thin. Remember these are zero drop which means your pants will now drag on the floor much better than standard shoes with a heel. Everyone wrote these ran small but for me in comparison with other shoes they fit correctly. Toss in a decent insole and you have a great shoe.

Altra seems to be resizing their shoes. This is my fourth or fifth pair and these seem tight.

These definitely run small. I'm normally an 11.5 or 12, but in these I needed the 12.5 US to fit comfortably in length. I ended up returning them because I just didn't like the way they looked on me. Something about the double seam going down to the toe, the wide toe box, the black stripe on the front, and the way the low heel showed off my socks with the current style of skinny pants. But they were comfortable. If the style had worked better for me, I would have kept them. Nice and light.

The shoes look ok and I love the wide toe box. The problem I had was with the manufacturing. The shoes were both slanted downward toward the outside ankle. It was visible from the stitching on the back of the shoe. It felt like I was walking on my ankles and this caused pain after a short time. I'm exchanging them, hopefully the next ones aren't slanted.

Most importantly, these are zero drop shoes (please search internet for explanation). To say that zero drop shoes are the "only" shows that makes sense is ridiculous. Zero drop shoes primarily have to do with foot strike (i.e, heel, mid-foot, fore-foot). If you are a heel striker, these may generate problems for you. To read other reviews on this shoe on this site may not be helpful b/c one writer gives 5 stars across the board while simultaneously talking about what is missing. The shoe seems to be built on a curved last (typically for folks with a medium to high arch). If someone wears a size 800 shoe one might need to know the height and weight of the reviewer, as obese people have their own shoe requirements. The shoe is not stiff and will stretch to some degree to accommodate those who fill the inside of their shoes with sheer volume. This shoe has a unique, casual, sophisticated look and may appeal to many for that reason. It does not look traditional. Because of it's construction, it probably will last about a year. If you like the way it looks, and are not a heel striker (and perhaps average weight and size)it's a fun shoe.
