These boots are wonderful. Just got them yesterday; had to swallow hard to get past the price. But never the less I am glad I got them. They are perfect. Firstly, I purchased size 9; I usually wear 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I plan to wear them without socks. They make your feet look small which is a very important feature in shoes for me. they look unique, and vintage right out the box which I love. very comfortable, soft leather, sturdy soles, and a look of quality. I'm not going to say you should buy them, because I want to be the only one in the cool boots this fall ;-). I'll be wearing these every chance I can get!

I haven't actually worn these anywhere yet, but they are amazing straight out of the box. They are very well made with a perfect finish. You get quality for the price. These are worth every penny. I am a size 7 and the 7 fit perfectly. They are easy to get into with the zippered backs. I feel like a rockstar in these boots.

I bought these boots last Summer and love them! Fits perfectly and can wear for a whole day walking around NYC. Style is great, can wear it with jeans, leggings or shorts/skirt/mini-dress, I just wear with ankle socks for shorts/dress. Socks need to be a color that matches the leather (I have the lighter shade of boot, so I just wear white ankle socks). I have no issue with the width of the ankle area at all and I have pretty slender legs/ankles. I am 5'6", and wear size 6 pants. I get a zillion complements on these boots. I also have small bunions, and these shoes are wide enough to accommodate!

Love these boots! Very versatile for warmer weather...can see these pairing well with a cute dress or jeans. Run just a tad big...I normally wear an 8.5 and ordered an 8 and they are perfect. Width is true to size. Order these! You won't be disappointed!

When you say distress booties you mean Distress. When I open the box they were so ashy that I wipe a little polish on them. But, I really like this bootie. It's comfy and I can wear with my jeans, cords and maxi dresses. Can't wait spring to wear with jean short and sun dresses.

I have the brown version of these boots and they are amazing. Funky and fun, and surprisingly comfortable. I just ordered the black, and what I got is not what is pictured. The black pictured is black leather with brown stitching and details. The boots I received are all black, and not nearly as attractive. The style is great, the black is not - these are going back.

These seem true to size as they were not too short at all. (I wear 9 and sometimes a 9.5, and I ordered a 9.) However, they are too freaking narrow. I tried a pair of Freebird Austins before this and they were too narrow, also. And I do not have wide feet. With this pair, one boot was even more narrow that the other and I knew it would not be comfortable. I've worn a lot of boots in my day and I say never assume a boot will stretch out, even nice quality leather ones like these. It's a painful lesson to try to make boots work when they don't right off the bat. The style is awesome and the leather smells divine, but these are a no go for me, sadly.

Rustic fashionable look. However, not very comfortable due to the stiffness of the leather. I suppose after significant use the boot may soften and conform to one's feet but by then the already rugged looking boot would have bought it.

Great boot! So well made but they don't look like the photo. No distressing at all. All black. No color difference in straps as shown.

These are so cool I love that they are cool enough to wear in the summer but could definitely go well into fall. Great color too!

I received these boots about ten days ago, and I don't think I've taken them off except to shower and sleep. They are wonderful. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is absolutely true - these boots are expensive, but worth every penny. There was some discussion in other reviews about what kind of socks to wear with them, and I am of the "no socks" tribe and my feet are still super comfortable even at the end of the day. Because of the leather and the "free space" created by the straps, there is plenty of air movement to let my feet breathe, so they don't get hot or sweaty (so far - it's early spring here in Minnesota). As far as sizing goes, I am usually either an 8 in regular shoes/sandals or an 8-1/2 in boots/athletic shoes. Checking other reviews it appeared to me that the "feels slightly larger" faction won out, so I took a chance and ordered an 8. They fit perfect - so perfect that I received the delivery, immediately changed out of the shoes I had been wearing, and wore them the rest of the day (and every day thereafter). One more thing to note - I ordered the black, and they are not nearly as distressed as the photo shows, just the heel is a little weathered. I actually like this look a lot better. I'm waiting for my size to come in in other colors and I will be ordering more. I can't recommend them enough.

These are my go-to shoes for spring and fall - any time there's no snow on the ground and it's shoe-wearing-weather, I can throw these on and feel like me. I've had the taupe for 2 years. I had new heels put on 'cause I wore the old ones out which was not easy. This summer I bought them in the darker color which is a beautiful brown/black. Leather boots break in, my people. I find these Stair shoes comfortable enough to wear all day out of the box but the fit gets better over time as they conform to your feet. They're so easy and cool-looking. I just love them. I'm a fan. One word of fashion caution: You'll need the proper socks. Buy these boots and when you find the right socks, buy a lot and have a happy life.

Super cute distressed looking booties.

Based on the reviews I ordered a 1/2 size down, they do not sell 1/2 sizes and I normally wear a 7 1/2 and ordered the 7. Way to small, mainly because the toe bed is super narrow! I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size up. They are super cute and a great alternative style boot to wear through the fall!

Amazing fit! Well, that is if you are a big gal (5'8", wears a 18/20) like me. I usually wear a 10W in most shoes and these are a perfect fit all over, including around the ankles with abundant space around the toes. Can't wait to wear them to work while adding some flair to my work wear.

So in love! This sandal/boot shoe is perfection! Comfortable right out of the box. So cute and flattering and unique. Usually wear a size 8 or 8 1/2 and the 8 is perfect. I can easily wear these all day. Have received many compliments. :) This is my first ever review.

They are great and true to size. Just wish mine were distressed. I ordered black. They look brand new. When i tried to scuff them up they still look the same just less shiny. No brown on them at all.Still love them!

Very cute but felt like my foot was in a cast I stand all day at work and need arch support which is non existent in these boots and there is also no cushion at all in the insole. the toe is very turned up a bit uncomfortable. They were plenty wide for my very wide foot and didn't slip much in the ankle.

I love these boots!!! I wish I could wear them everyday. Never had a pair I liked so much. Saving for my next pair.

I love anything Freebird and these are no exception. I live in the Northeast, so these will be a great "summer" boot. The taupe color is light and distressed, perfect for pairing with jeans. I usually wear a 7.5 and I ordered an 8 as recommended and they fit fine. I would actually say a little snug in the forefoot, but not uncomfortable.

I love these boots. High quality and stylish. I've worn with skinny jeans and big chunky sweater. Also, dressed up a bit with leggings, long tunic and blazer. Great looks!

These shoes are amazing but the color looks NOTHING like the color online - the "rust" is more like a dark pinkish tan? They would be great if you can use that color but I was looking for something more versatile like "brown". Also, they run huge. I wear a 7 and definitely needed a 6. I can tell that with the right size they will be very comfortable!

I got these 2 years ago and still love them. Over time they have molded to my feet and feel as soft as fine gloves. They are fabulous on the bike, letting the air in.

When I received this bootie I was surprised how distress they are. That's ok for what I'm wearing them with. They are really funky with jeans and jeans shorts. I sport these booties with my spring and fall wardrobe.
