First pair of expensive dress shoes I've ever purchased - I'm normally pretty cheap but my typical fare barely last a year with regular usage. Initially, I was a bit disappointed (because I rushed to judgment). The shoes, out of the box, appeared overly shiny and I thought they had something of a plastic look to them. The laces, as a different reviewer had noted, are awful. I wasn't crazy about the feel either. I decided to stick it out and I'm extremely glad I did. Within a day or two, they felt great - far better than other pairs of shoes I've owned. The look grew on me and now they are an integral part of my work attire. I haven't seen how they stand up to the elements yet, mostly because I try to wear them inside only. I'm sure that will change at some point. By far, the biggest annoyance is the waterproofing brand-speak emblazoned near the laces; the text makes sure to remind you the shoes are waterproof, but it's pointless and unnecessary to place that on the exterior of the shoe, in such a visible position. It's not terribly noticeable - especially if your pants are longer - because it's embossed and not a colored text. That's my only real remaining complaint. Overall - love the shoe, very minor complaints, would buy again.

This pair of Rockport Essential Details is the third pair I have purchased. I compared this new pair with my older shoes that are labeled as the exact same size. I find that the soles of the new shoes are almost 3/8" narrower than my older pair. This is true for both the left and the right shoe.

A great looking and comfortable shoe.... BUT.... it is NOT waterproof... my husband is a chef and water leached into the shoe from the soles after less than one month.... BUT... Zappos gave us a complete refund which i did not expect.... this is great customer service!!!

These shoes were exactly what my son liked. However, when I put in the size for 13 4E it said XW. These did NOT fit my son's feet. Not wide enough.

Really a nice shoe that fits great. I usually prefer lace-less slip ons, but these really are comfortable. I also do TSA pre-check a lot and these don't alarm the metal detectors like some shoes do.

I love Zappos! These shoes are great for living in northeast Pennsylvania. They are waterproof, and have a fantastic tread pattern/depth for snow and ice! They really fit great (like a glove), right out of the box, and I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone.

I don't like the "Hydro Shield Waterproof" wording stamped into the shoe, would have purchased it otherwise.

Comfortable and well fitting shoe. Great for walking in snow/slush. Sole has a lot of siping, good for traction in snow but also catches lots of pebbles that are hard on wood floors.

This is an attractive basic Black Oxford with a moderately grippy tread. Overall the size seems appropriate with good toe room. I could see wearing this in an office or when goinh out. It feels rugged enough for outdoor wear and comfortable walking.
