Didn't expect such ultra lightweight raingear to outperform my reliable goretex, but it did slightly - zero water penetration around front zipper motorcycling in rain.

Perfectly waterproof in near-constant rain for several days, through brush and Buffalo grass in the Colorado wilderness. Amazingly lightweight and the most packable rain gear I have ever owned.

The Helium pants are a small weight to carry for big protection when bad weather appears.

I am 5"8" 170lbs, 32" waist (depending on how much pandemic beer I've been drinking) with a 30" inseam, and the medium fit great. I tried a sizeLarge as well and they were too long and baggier. I didn't feel and hindrance or tightness in the thighs while hiking through the Hoh rainforest, and these pants kept my bottom half dry and comfortable. They pair very well with the Helium II jacket to make an ultralight raingear kit that packs down small. I also have OR Traverse and Foray pants, but those are heavier weight and better for snow and dayhikes or quick and dirty overnights, but when I am going quick and light and need to shave ounces to make miles, these are my go-to pants. I'm stoked on my purchase.

TLDR; Buy these pants.. for ultralight camping, they are very tough to beat. Outdoor Research customer service is amazing.
The Helium pants were exactly what I expected.... amazing. They felt even lighter than I anticipated, and are extremely compact when packed up. I'm glad I ordered the large. At 5'10/175 lbs with generous hindquarters, the fit was perfect. The M would have definitely been too small.
Outdoor Research was fantastic to deal with. I originally ordered the M but decided to switch to the L. OR was extremely accommodating and helped to cancel/reorder. When the pants went on sale THE NEXT DAY, OR refunded me the difference in price. I will certainly return for future purchases, which I'm sure there will be many. Thank you!

Had a pair in size L, used many nights on trail. Great sitting around wet camps to keep other clothes clean. No issues with durability. Pack small. So when I lost 40 lbs, I didn't even shop another brand. Just bought a size M. Great rain pants.

Light weight, and comfortable. I stayed dry through several rain storms while thru hiking the Long Trail in October. Light enough to not overheat and sweat, but also perfect protection from cold wind and heavy rain.

Really liking these so far. They have been out on a PCT section hike, and a couple of other overnights into the Cascades. Very light weight, very packable, ankle zips to help get them on quickly over my trail runner, and have been great for wind and light rain so far. A big thumbs up and I'm looking forward to using them into the wetter seasons.

Used for golfing. Love the lightweight feel, like I'm not wearing raingear at all. Plus they pack so small, I just keep them in a zipper pocket with a Helium jacket too.

OK, the pants work well. Maybe they run a bit small, that said, they did fit exactly as the sizing specs said. I just usually wear a medium, so ignored the sizing info and ordered a medium. I returned for a large and they are perfect.
