Great cut and length. Guava color is a bit neon for my taste but would say the image does a good job of representing the true color. Material is thin! Great for summer but note that any of the lighter colors like the Guava and, jade, etc., are going to show through. I would recommend but be sure to size up and if you're between sizes you may even want to go two sizes higher to get the fit you see in the images. I only gave it four stars because the sizing is a lot smaller than comparable shorts but, again can be easily rectified by ordering up.

Overall, these are very nice cargo shorts. Love the size of the side pockets - only cargo shorts I've found with ones big enough to fit my phone. Nice lightweight fabric and nice fit. Just a little longer than I'm used to, but the comfort and function are worth it.

I normally wear a size 6 (5'6 130 lbs) in Kuhl but these are a bit short in the rise and too tight. I exchanged for an 8. The length is great and the Capri option is awesome.

Kuhl seems to have a fascination with wedgies; true for this style as well as others. I'm pretty small (5'4", 115 lbs) and it still happens. Such a shame because the fabric and detailing are really cute. Going back. :(

Definitely go a size up. I wear a size 6 in EVERYTHING else, and I ordered one 6 and one 8. Eight fit well at the waist. What I didn't like about this style, is that it hit at a very unflattering spot right on top of my knee. A little longer would be okay, above my knee would be okay, but it just visually chopped my legs in half. I'm 5'4". ALso, slash pockets were not as deep as they looked. If you were hiking, you would want everything in the cargo pockets. These are going back.

These knickers, my god, they run so small. I normally wear an 8 in most pants/shorts/skirts. Like, 99.9 percent of the time I'm an 8 in Prana, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Columbia, etc. But I read the reviews on these and decided to go up a size just in case, and I ordered a 10. Praise the sweet baby Jesus, I could not get these things to button closed. I could barely get them over my butt and thighs. There is no way I could wear them for more than 30 seconds. I sure could never eat or breathe deeply in them. I'm not even sure a 12 would fit, to be honest. If I liked the look of them I might try it, even though I already cringed at having to go into double-digit sizes when I ordered the 10, but they really aren't that flattering. The material is thin and seems like it would wrinkle easily, and just feels cheap. Like a knock-off brand of cargo shorts you'd find at Wal-Mart. I expect cheap clothing to be a crap shoot when it comes to sizing, but not a well-known outdoor company selling pants for this price. Come on, Kuhl. Three whole sizes off? I don't think so. So yeah, after a good laugh and a slight desire to start dieting, I'm returning these knickers.

Wife says its more snug than she expected it to. She didn't like the material either. Going back to Zappos.

I am 5'2" tall, weight 113 lbs, have 38" hips. In the past several months I have purchased 7 pairs of Kuhl long pants, all a perfect size 6, primarily to use on cruises. I have loved those pants, their style, their ease of laundering, especially when on cruise ships, and that awesome perfect fit! I recently ordered the Kuhl Kontra shorts in a size 6 and was excited about their style, length, cool/wicking fabric, and just knew they would fit because they were a size 6! NOT SO! The fit is more like trying on a size 4, too snug all over, must return. Perhaps this pair was one of those that was just cut a bit differently but hope my replacement order is really a size 6. I had previously had great faith in the fact that Kuhl garments were made true-to-size, we'll see what's up with their shorts. I will definitely keep trying to get Kuhl shorts - love them!

Overall the Kontra is very comfortable & cool. I LOVE the cargo pockets, the front pockets could stand to be a little deeper, but that's a small point-and I suspect it would also change or impact the design & moving more toward military or a hiking short. Which would be a nice alternative for Kuhl to offer. Anyway... I ordered one size up and they fit well. They look more sporty & loose than the pic-which allows them to be cooler & the material is light weight & breathable-fanastic in hot & humid weather we just had. The "Carbon" color, as someone else mentioned, does look more deep green. In certain light I can sort of see a carbon color. I am now ordering a 2nd pair. And would request that Kuhl would offer a color closer to "Carbon".
