Great quality belt for the price. I am a 32-34 waist and bought small as I read it runs big. Looks like I could have gone either way but small works fine. It is a pain in the neck to fasten hence the 4 star, but a great belt. Bought it in 2 colors, looks great for the summer wardrobe.

very nice belt. Based on reviews/specs I ordered and XL and it's too big. Haven't yet decided whether I will re-order 1 size down. Think I might be in between sizes and don't like a lot of belt hanging down.

I never buy anything is small because I'm a true medium but sometimes you just have to go with how the item is manufactured. The small fits perfectly since I don't like excessive belt material that needs putting in a second pant loop on side. I kinda just like it going through the front loop with minimal excess.

I have enjoyed this belt so far. When I first started wearing it, it was difficult to tighten and loosen, but after about a week it has worked itself in and I've gotten used to the process and it's not an issue any longer. The belt stays in place well and is fully adjustable. It fits comfortably and doesn't irritate. I also carry a concealed handgun and it supports it just fine.

In the short time I've owned this item (maybe two weeks) I have no reason to regret the purchase. I doubt I would've spent the asking price but was happy to cash a promo coupon with an upcoming expiration date. The belt is on the wide side and may be too fat for some garments, but dimensions are spelled out in the item description, so it should come as no surprise.
My biggest concern when ordering, and upon receipt, was the belt's imprecise size choices of "SM" "MD" and "LG"....The manufacturer would do customers a favor by converting such vague sizing to conventional waist-size ranges. For example, medium = 32-36 (that's just a guess on my part). Based on the overlapping I've got, medium might have been sufficient, but I wasn't looking forward - even with Zappos generous free shipping - of hassling a return, so I went for LG. I looked at YouTube vids on this subject, and read the customer Q&A's, but found them wanting.

I'm a big fan of the brand. Yet, I still decided to return the belt.
Seemed like it was a very study belt, looked nice. But - I'm about a 30"-31" waist and the size small left too much belt for my liking - it wrapped around nearly to the side of my hip.
If they provided a way to shorten the belt, as most other belts of this style do - I'd pick one (or more) up.

If you want to buy "Nautic Grey 2" do not bother trying to buy it from Zappos. I ordered it and they sent Nautic Grey. So I called to exchange it, which they did, and sent me Nautic Grey again. The problem is that Nautic Grey 2 doesn't actually exist...it's called Carbon Steel. So buy it from another retailer if that's the color you want. There is a previous reviewer stating that he got the wrong belt color too. Good news is Zappos was awesome when I asked to exchange it the first time (although the phone conversation/process took way too long imo so just do it online if that's possible) and returning the second belt was also easy.
As for the belt:
The good: I've never needed to retighten it which is great.
The bad: It is slightly difficult to get the black plastic end started through the second opening of the buckle. Not really a big deal though. However it is annoying to actually tighten the belt down. You can't just pull on the end to tighten it. I have to suck in my stomach, push the first part of the belt through the first buckle opening then pull that slack through the second opening without letting it slip backwards (on jeans where the waist is a little too big). Maybe that's the price for having a belt that doesn't loosen over time (and I'll take that trade-off).
The size: I'm somewhere around a 32-33" waist (6'1", 160#). The small belt fits with the black plastic just going past my first belt loop (2"). The medium goes 3.5" past the first belt loop. The slack on the medium is fine though because the belt end stays close to your waist since the belt is fairly stiff. Overall, I like the medium best because it has enough slack to not have to undo the belt completely to take jeans off/pull them up.

I recently lost weight and as such the belt now flops down because there is no extra loop to tuck it into. Other than that it is a great belt however and I highly recommend it. Just don't get one in too large of a size as you may experience a similar problem.

This belt is almost perfect. I say almost because if it's not tighten enough, like for example if you want to wear your pants a little relaxed, the belt slips around.
I wished the great minds at Arc'teryx would find a non-slip solution for this great belt.
Also It would be great if the color of the buckle would be better coordinated with that of the belt liner.
If you want to carry heavier objects connected to your belt, you might want to get a different belt with a much sturdier liner.

This belt is excellent quality, looks nice and has good selection of colours. However the buckle style makes it no good for under a pack waist belt. I bought it thinking it would be designed to be super low profile but its actually pretty thick at the buckle area. I now wear it every day, but not hiking.

Great belt! I use it under my duty belt. Would be 5 stars across the board if I didn't have to use two hands to put it on, but knew that would be the case before I purchased it.

This is the best hiking belt I've had. It's wide enough to not have any turnover of the shorts when you cinch it. It does take two hands but hey, you're going to the backountry, right? I have a 33 waist and like the other reviewer I had to return the large for a medium. It's pretty long so up to a 36 would be a medium. The colors are spot on!

Good looking belt that feels strong & well made. The bright red stitching really stands out from the black giving it a fashionable look. The problem is that it's difficult to tighten. Takes 2 hands & extra effort.

The picture is deceiving - it makes the belt look supple. The belt would never hold that tight coil with the end draped over the side. Maybe it will break-in over the years.
It's durable and I like the looks. It's comfortable and it holds when tightened.

This is a beautifully made belt. The fabric of the belt is soft and lustrous. The buckle is understated yet attractive.
I returned mine mainly because you cannot cinch it down tightly. I have a nylon webbing 'tactical' belt and a canvas belt with a military buckle that both allow me to cinch them down as tightly as I want. The Arcteryx belt won't do that. You can pull the belt taut as it goes through the first part of the buckle, but when you pass it through the second it loses tension.
Also, the belt is long. I wear and ordered a 34 inch, but the excess part of the belt was all the way to my hip bone. Another reviewer noted that you could cut the belt and seal it with a flame, but then you lose the the metal end of the belt.
Pretty belt, but it didn't do what I needed.

I wear pant of waist size 32 and the size S belt is too long. The belt has a tail of 4 to 5 inches extend to my side.
