For the price I think you could find something a bit better with regards to quality. Foremost, I purchased an XS in Dark Moss. Great colour and the jacket holds up in the cold. Granted I've only taken it out in 20 degree weather in NYC so it hasn't been through anything more extreme than that so far. Additionally, the waterproof element is solid. However, that being said, after wearing it out on the first day you can see some sort of white residue under the seams in the cuffs. Second, after the first hour of wearing the jacket there were already feathers coming through the baffles. I realize its a 750 fill so that is bound to happen over time but I didn't think that it would be immediate. Finally, the hood is constructed in such a way that the back bungee slides open and you constantly have to re-cinch it. Overall, I wanted to like this jacket but I'd probably just spend the extra money and pick up something from the Veilance line instead. I do own the Monitor Down Coat for reference. Note: This might be a lemon out of the bunch but this is what I'm basing my review on.

Found the jacket to be a perfect urban parka. I feel Arc'teryx makes the best hoods for non-detachable hood jackets. Very roomy hood, not restrictive around the chin. Ultimately did not keep the jacket. The black model is in reality grey. I wish they made a true black version. Hopefully next season.

Fell in love with this jacket based on pictures and description on the internet. But when I saw this one in real it was a real disappointment. I am a tall but skinny person (190 cm, 70 kg), but size S is way to wide. I hope Arc'teryx will design some slim fit insulated jackets in future!

Have a collection of various Arcteryx jackets and have always been happy with the fact that they seem to have longer arms than other jackets. Beeing just over 2 meters this have proven to be a challenge on numerous other brands, not so with Arcteryx until now. So when my GF asked if I had any wishes for my birthday this came baby came up ;) Where my other Arcteryx Jackets go about 1 cm over my wrist the Therme stops 4-5 cm above the wrist. Its very anyoing as I love the design, and its fits superb over the shoulders and waist. The arms however are shorter than the "normal" arcteryx desing so personally I cant justefy the cost when the fit is not 100%

Lets start with goods: Basic, no nonsense design. Good fabric and material, extremly warm. BUT!! The design.. When you close the front zipper, you stil have the zipper cover flapping out. This is absoulutelly NO GOOD. Outer material seems to feel too hard. I know this is an outdoor ,SV heavy duty jacket , but still ,the fabric may feel and wear softer and lighter. Please change the design of front zipper flap immediatelly. Take more time for research before releasing such a new range of product. We have high and the highest expectation from you. Because ,it is an Arcteryx product.

Despite the rating, I would still recommend this coat to those who understand the below caveats. It's a really nice coat! First the good: High quality build, very high warmth to loft ratio (it is not too bulky, but quite warm), sophisticated style, very comfortable. The bad: Another reviewer noted how the hood would scoop up rain in a heavy downpour. I have a Thorium hoody and an Alpha shell, so I will never be wearing this in above 0 temperatures, but I can easily see how the hood would scoop rain. The zipper has no internal wind blocker, and the external one does not have buttons all the way down, so a strong gust of wind at the wrong angle will send cold air right into you. The collar is very wide, so that a good scarf is necessary to keep your neck comfortable. I wear this with a long scarf that I can wrap around my neck and then hang down my torso, between my mid layer and the zipper. This alleviates the only issue which really bothers me, but I am considering tailoring a wind blocker on the inside. I'm a little surprised this was not considered by the designers (or is there a good reason it's not there?). Another thing to note: I'm a very 'cold' body type, and need a lot of insulation to keep warm. I typically use a sleeping bag rated 10-15 degrees celsius lower than the expected temperature. If you too are like this, then expect to need a solid mid-layer on particularly cold and windy days. The reason I chose this coat over a full arctic expedition parka is that I can layer it very comfortably over my Thorium hoody or Atom LT on really cold days, and wear it on it's own above -10 celsius. Arcteryx designers: put some lining behind the zipper in next years model!!!

I've been looking for an urban style parka, warm and waterproof, and this seemed to be the perfect answer to replace the too warm and not waterproof Canada Goose Citadel. Early days, but ideally it ought to be a few inches longer, and the hood/collar design needs to be reviewed urgently. There s far too much room at the front around the top of the zip closure, so in heavy rain the rain is "scooped" inside the jacket. The hood itself is a good size, but needs additional adjustment to encourage it to move with your head. Wearing an urban parka on the daily commute, you don't want a face full of hood when to turn to see if you can cross the road.....disappointing for such an expensive jacket. Beautifully made, though, so I wish they could improve it so others can enjoy it - so I hope this is noted, even though too late for me!!

Bought this expecting a well designed jacket without trying it on. Didn't think much of it but as other reviews mention, the zipper is cheap and difficult to close and the elastic sleeve cuffs are too loose so air breezes up there. The main outer packets are very small, narrow and awkwardly shaped - my hands are average and they just fit in there without other stuff in the pockets. The chest outer and inner pockets are also both tiny - I have a small size phone and can barely fit it in the internal chest pocket but not the outer. The waist is not well fit and there is no ability to cinch it with a drawstring mechanism internally (or externally) and so, again, air rushes up from the bottom (it also makes the jacket look kind of dumpy/ill-fitting despite being my size). Finally, I'm not sure if it's a combination of the air leakage issuse from the cuff and waist but this jacket isn't warm enough on cold (Vancouver) days. This was the whole point of this parka for me. I have been an Arc'teryx fan since their inception, own numerous jackets and this one is a huge design flop. It's like no one wore it after it was made, even just for a few days, and saw the many design flaws. I wish I could take it back but it's been worn outside. A huge regret for this price point. I would strongly recommend passing on this terrible Arc'teryx product.

Bought this jacket a few years back and have sparingly washed it with proper detergent as recommended. But now it looks dingy and cheap.

I brought this coat 3 months ago The fitting is not good the hood is a poor design The waist and bottom need draw strings and the inner cuffs let in water the over zip flap could do with additional popper all the way up not just top and bottom

I am writing this review in the hope arcteryx will update the jacket. Simply put great coat, but the hood is ridiculous. It is enormous and the rear adjuster does not stay in place. Ultimately I returned the coat as I need a hood. Not sure why it is so big, but ruined what could be a great jacket. Please update.

So much to like about this jacket but the hood is a disaster area. It is enormous and can't be cinched down effectively. The cordlock on the volume adjuster at the back slips. The hood brim forms an annoying trough right in front of your eyes with the hood up and interferes with the back of your neck when down. I really don't know how Arcteryx ever thought this was a good design. My first big disappointment with the brand.

In your collar it will rain the snow and the cold wind, because it is very wide and does not have a sensible adjustment.Pockets are very small, it was possible to make more bulky.

The jackets look great and keeps me warm. Unfortunately, after a few months I don't want to use it anymore because find the front zippers simply horrible. 1. It looks cheap 2. They are just soooo difficult to zip. I am just annoyed at failing to zip it after a few tries. For this price, I should not be having this kind of zipper problems. I regret buying this. My other cheaper Arcteryx jackets have far better zippers. If only I could, I would definitely return this.

Sorry but, purchased this item and had great expectations of it UNTIL it arrived and I realised it was made in China and includes very cheap toggle features. Any brand worth it's salt would not have these awful, tacky features on their items, especially these cheaply made ones. So, for all it's potential glories this item was completely let down by these features. I was proved right the first time I tried to adjust the exterior hood pull. It slipped out of its holding position immediately, I tried again and it simply snapped. I won't be investing in this brand again anytime soon.

I bought therme yesterday , I started to wear today but it looks very old. I have a parka which I bought in 2015 looks newer than arc'tryx therme. I will return if they accept. When I wear that I feel I just done with construction jobs , looks that much dirty and dusty.

The idea is great.. but the jacket lacks some testing of the design. I own a lot of Arcteryx gear - and in general happy to pay the price for the good quality materials and design finish. In this jacket, it would have served Arcteryx well to really test the design before putting the jacket into production. The key slip-up here is the buttons. The lowest one is really badly placed (along with the zipper). Everytime you get into your car or onto your bike, there is tension in the material and the button pops open. All semi long jackets have challenges, but this could easily have been spotted by moving the button a bit higher together with the zipper... I would put this down to v little actual design testing. Also think the pocket on the front could be a bit bigger .. just so that it is easier to get the phone in /out. Inside the jacket, it really could use some larger mesh pockets to carry gloves and a hat.. I know it will potentially make you look bulky, but there is little room in the outside pockets... so it would super practical. I guess I am a bit rough on Arcteryx, but frankly when selling a premium product where the key strategy is to convince customers that the products have been actively tested.. I think you have a great idea with the jacket, but the execution is really not up to your standard.
